Beef enchilada platter

My wife and I had a good experience here. Staff got my order wrong as all human beings do on occasion, but we were very impressed at how they handled it. Very courteous and apologetic, they made it right. We were also compensated for the trouble. The food was a great value for the price as it always is, quite delicious.

Tacos fall apart waaaay to easily. Not the first time this has happened at this location, but it's my last time going.

We enjoyed celebrating my sisters' birthday here. Servers were so friendly and on top of it -…read moreconsistently checking on us, getting us refills. I enjoyed the three tacos combo plate. It was good, but is definitely more Mexican-American and less of the authentic Mexican feel and taste. I was thinking it would be more like street tacos. It was still good though! The restaurant is beautiful with big paintings and murals on the walls. We finished with deep fried ice cream for dessert. It was amazing, with a sweet strawberry sauce on top. They sang to my sister and put a sombrero on her and gave us these delicious churro chips. It was so fun! Great spot for families and groups with lots of seating!, and plenty of parking out front.

I don't post often. Specially with love towards supporting local family business that made me feel like family throughout all my years growing up in the small town of lake Stevens. Knowing the whole family throughout the 19 yrs+ but know I know why sadly everyone that knows the family business has issues since hes taken over.. Sorry the last son the now has taken over Ixtapa has ruined this business. Love the whole family but food has changed, please who hes hired and food taken over is terrible/un taught or not caring, (told by many members of the community, but still loved to come back to support... WRONG. I was told right and know I know.) Prices are wonky (even when they get your order wrong they wont give you money back on your card, they will say next time you come back ask for the manager and I'll return your money because it takes him a hour on the phone with getting it back in a few days.) I said I'm okay with time to give my cash back, Lake Stevens is hard for me to get to and I was just trying to support your business so I'd like it back on my card no matter how long it takes.. apparently that wasnt a option.....? The last son of Fransicos shouldn't be involved with this family first starter business. Making them look bad and never wanna return. So rude. The whole family worked up to create a good experience until he took over. Good luck to him.... It's funny to note now why I knew his whole family but never did one tell me about him for a reason... (AKA POS.) Sad for his first family business that he got lucky to get as the last child but will lose it... rip Ixtapa

Some of the best Mexican north of White Center! Very kitschy decor but for me, it was endearing,…read morereminded me of some of my favorite mexican restaurants in south texas. Ordered the chorizo queso and we nearly fought for the last of it- Husband got a smothered burritto and was making happy noises the whole time, I got the beef enchilladas with mole - very sweet if you're into that. Amazing service as well.

A friend of mine live here and normally we meet somewhere closer to Seattle, but this time I…read moreinsisted on coming to his zip code, when I asked him about Mexican food, he said there wasn't anything good in town and that he normally goes to Everett. I didn't buy it because I know Marysville has Las Margaritas and La Hacienda, 2 places I grew up with in Seattle and although, one left the city and the other has closed locations, I'd like to believe either can still serve a respectable plate. So, I found this place and suggested it and this is my report. $25 for lunch was a bit steep, that was just the entrée with tax and tip. No beverage or extras. Salsa was okay, could have been hotter. I aksed for something hotter, but they said they didn't have anything. Pictures showed multiple salsas and bottles of sauce, but we weren't offered any. The plate came with healthy portions of rice and beans. But the portion of Carne Asada did not impress. It also had the smaller portion of guacamole, it was like a half teaspoon, not enough to compliment the entrée. I won't drag this out. The food was pretty good, it did take some salt and pepper to really pop, but it was better than any local chain Mexican food. I will also say the service improved from cold to friendly and neither of us left hungry. Speaking of cold, there was no hot water in the restroom. I don't know why the Health Department allows this. It takes soap and hot water to wash hands. If there is no hot water, you are not a clean restaurant in my book. Still, I'd probably give this place a 3 with a point deduction for price and for not appearing to offer the same menu items previous reviews advertise. Fastest way to earn 5 stars is to increase the protein portion and put hot water in the restroom. For the record, there was a supreme Enchilada special for $12. That is very reasonable and also why I didn't hesitate to pay $18 for the Carne Asada Lunch, I just assumed, I would get the same value, but did not. This place is worth checking out, but it was also empty and I can see why. If I were back in the area, I would most likely try Las Margaritas or La Hacienda. I feel confident my dollar goes further there.
