The plate came with healthy portions of rice and beans. But the portion of Carne Asada did not impress. It also had the smaller portion of guacamole, it was like a half teaspoon, not enough to compliment the entrée. I won't drag this out. The food was pretty good, it did take some salt and pepper to really pop, but it was better than any local chain Mexican food. I will also say the service improved from cold to friendly and neither of us left hungry. Speaking of cold, there was no hot water in the restroom. I don't know why the Health Department allows this. It takes soap and hot water to wash hands. If there is no hot water, you are not a clean restaurant in my book. Still, I'd probably give this place a 3 with a point deduction for price and for not appearing to offer the same menu items previous reviews advertise. Fastest way to earn 5 stars is to increase the protein portion and put hot water in the restroom. For the record, there was a supreme Enchilada special for $12. That is very reasonable and also why I didn't hesitate to pay $18 for the Carne Asada Lunch, I just assumed, I would get the same value, but did not. This place is worth checking out, but it was also empty and I can see why. If I were back in the area, I would most likely try Las Margaritas or La Hacienda. I feel confident my dollar goes further there.
