Solid place for Mexican food in downtown Toms River area. Got food to go and enjoyed at the brewery, which I highly recommend. Got the elite and the chilaquiles which were both really good. The price was really fair too. The only thing is that the food took a longer time than expected. We ended up getting 2 orders of drinks while waiting. From what I could tell, we were the only people who ordered food when we ordered in the afternoon. Otherwise the food was amazing, and will be back. read more

Can't comment on service or ambiance as we ordered takeout, this was our third time. The food is just fantastic. So fresh, flavors are outstanding. Picture is my burrito, Al pastor (pork w/pineapple), which was top notch. Chips on side are homemade and yummy. Verde salsa is some of the best I've ever had. Our son and his girlfriend have eaten here before a few times, actually .... and really wanted this for our family lunch over at my MIL's, he was pretty clear when he said, "Mom, it's not your cooking or Nana's recipes and we are not in California anymore sooooo....." Being a Yelper, I go in with an open mind and positive attitude and I really miss goood Mexican food and I don't always want to be the one cooking it, LOL. Was it the best I have ever had, no, not really. Being born and raised in Ca, being Hispanic I have had the best of the best, but for those that may not know better or want to experience as close to an authentic flavor as you are going to get on the East Coast, then this is ok. Tamale was very dry and the masa to meat ratio was way more masa than meat. I definitely used the red salsa to make it more edible. Elote was good but at $7.00 you are better off doing your own as home. Lunch for 5 people over $94.00 but- it's not the price, I'll gladly pay more way more for food that is worth it, this was steep for taste that wasn't there. The worst Mexican food I've ever had. The "Mexican tacos" were made with mystery meat horrible tasting and bland. The naco chips where cold and it was obvious it was canned cheese. All I can say is WOW! So freaking good. After living in California and Texas for years...where great Mexican food is a given...I couldn't be more excited to find great AUTHENTIC Mexican food here in Toms River, NJ. We ordered the Mexicana Burrito with Chicken and the Classic Burrito with chicken. Not only was it big and stuffed full of fresh ingredients...it was grilled to perfection. The salsa is on point. The tortillas chips were abundant. And the churros? The churros were absolutely delicious. The price was more than fair. And since it's Covid-19 rules...everyone was wearing a mask. Ten minutes after ordering, I ran in quickly for my pick-up (mask on)...the place was spotlessly clean and the staff was super friendly. Downtown location. Overpriced for not a lot of food. Ordered a side of guacamole and it was $6.00 for a medium. I can only imagine the size of it if I had ordered a small. I can't even speak to the food yet, but I can speak to the way I was treated by the person at the counter. I can tell you that no matter how good the food is I will never return here. I was treated like a complete a****** that told no over and over and over again even after I show them my order on my phone. I did pickup, so can't speak to delivery, but everything tasted very fresh. Fish for the tacos, hand battered, to order. Saw them making the kettle of rice for dinner service and it looked divine. Had a ground beef burrito and flavors were on point. Guac was creamy with just the right amount of Serrano and not too much onion. Wish chipotle mayo was a side option on the menu. Things happen and its how a business responds or does not that shows its character. We ordered on-line $80.00 of food which we were looking forward to getting. We ordered from their website, not Door Dash or Grub Hub. Unfortunately the driver dropped the food in the driveway when the overstuffed bag tore. The food spilled on the driveway and was now inedible. I helped the driver clean up the mess and contacted Tacotastic 2. I spoke to several people, including the owner. I asked them to remake the order and we would wait or pick up. The owners response was "we made the food, not our fault the driver dropped it". Really? Was it my fault? Did I overstuffed the bag? Did I put too much weight in it? Did the driver forget to support the bag? So, the owner never bothered to call me back. Basically sticking me with the bill for food that was dropped on the ground. Really? Taco -Tastic? Never again. There are a lot of Mexican food places around. No longer is this place on my list. You guys lost a good customer. read more

We ordered food for Cinco de Mayo today. We purposely ordered before 5pm fully expecting it to be a long delivery time due to the holiday. The time kept getting pushed back further and further - which, again, we were fine with. Then about two hours from the time we ordered, they cancelled our order. Awesome. read more

Their ingredients always seem unfresh and spoiled, the longest waits and not really good service. But the Churros are the best thing I ever had so I'll give it 3 Stars. Horrible, I ordered Borrila that comes with the three tacos in the dipping soup so I was going to get to go and I decided to eat it there I started eat half a taco. It tasted horrible, had no flavor. It just did not taste fresh at all I complained to the lady they're working at that she goes oh my God and then I see myself wow and then I told the cook in the cook says oh wow so I was like all right you know I was like OK they wanna offer my money back or get it or make something else OK let me get to go so we go OK we got to talk to the owner. I ordered lunch today and said that I would be in to pick it up .the woman answering the phone took my order and my phone number and that was that. However, when I went to pick up my lunch it just so happened that I Called it into Taco Tastic on Main Street and not Fischer blvd . I was told that South toms River location we're dropping it off to them on Fisher and that I should have it within the hour. That's for I apologize profusely for placing my order at the wrong location but it also wasn't happy that by the time I got it it would be cold and not fresh I asked if I could just re-order with them and pay for it immediately. This courtesy was not extended to me and when I tried to ask the girl at the counter how that was OK for me to accept. The woman behind the counter got very angry and said well who is supposed to eat that one in toms River on main street. I said I didn't know but that I also felt this was not a good practice for a restaurant I had every intention of tipping them.
