I got great service for the entire experience. This young man that told me his name was Briley he was the nicest. He was so patient with me while I looked at the menu and when I tried to tip him for his kindness he politely declined. The food was amazing! I'm extremely biased because I've loved Taco Shop since I was a little girl! Bad day at school? Mom brought Taco Shop. Grabbing food after school events? Taco Shop. Mom coming to visit me at college? Taco Shop. Every single time I ever pass through Corsicana? Gotta get Taco Shop. I thought I just had an undying love from being a local, but I introduced my husband who is originally from Houston and he loves it too! My go to has always been the combo #1 which gets you three tacos and a drink of choice. I also throw in an order of frijoles because I love those too! My husband typically goes for their burritos. Though I can also say that I love their enchilada plate. The service is always fast and can't complain about the cost. Definitely a good locally owned business worth supporting. read more

The worst example of TexMex I've ever had the displeaaure of trying. I've never understood the hype around this place growing up as every time I was forced to go here I was treated to terrible service, unkempt surroundings and food so lacking in flavor they should be ASHAMED. I'm only reviewing now due to an event I attended that provided "catering" from this place. I was yet again reminded of my dislike for it. Throughout the years, I have been back to visit several times and am so excited to eat at my Taco Shop. Yummm! Still the same goodness! Many people think that Taco Shop is bland. Maybe it is. Maybe that's why I love it. I don't know. At any rate, this turquoise gem is one of the only good things about Corsicana. Sure, it's fast food tex mex, and sure, their restrooms are on the outside of the building and look creepy, but you're not there to use the restroom. You're there to order cheap, delicious food. They have all of the normal stuff - enchiladas, tamales, burritos, tacos, nachos, taco salad, etc. Their sweet tea is very sweet, and so is their Dr. Pepper. This is a good thing. Cheat on your diet and give the DP a try. ;) I used to love going there after school when I was in high school. Bean burritos all the way. Sometimes with extra cheese. Depending on who's making the food, they sometimes skimp on the cheese in the burritos. Just saying. If you're feeling adventurous, add tomatoes and sour cream to your bean burrito. Yum. If you're a fan of your cheese nachos getting soggy (like I am!), make sure you ask them to put the cheese on top. Otherwise, it will come in a cup beside the nachos. :( The employees at the drive-thru window are generally nice and polite, and the food is in fact fast. When you go inside to order, you get free drink refills (or at least that used to be the case; I haven't been inside in years). Just take your cup up to the food pickup area and ask for a refill. They may or may not mind, but they will do it. :P Oh.. and they recently added an outdoor seating area. Interesting. read more

I just wanted to let everyone know if you've read my previous post that the service here is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. They will short you tacos then when you ask to speak with the manager I was treated like dirt, AND they would not give me any kind of number to speak with the owner. I was told " I don't know who the owner is" and this guy had been there for years, I had seen his greasy face several times After I was treated so horrible, I contacted Taco Casa restaurant and lobbied for them to build one in Corsicana PLEASE, after a couple of months of writing them, a lady wrote me back and told me they were going to be opening one by July 2012, WELL, they have broke ground and they are a little behind schedule, but they should be open by the fall now, this is what happens when you screw over a motivated customer. I hope EVERYONE READS THIS, and learns this is NOT the place to go and spend hard earned money and be shorted your food, so you can then be treated like dirt instead of them making it right read more

I just ate at this place, me and my friend came in under the impression that it was a restaurant, but it is a fast food. A second after I had paid my food was ready, this is not a bad thing, don't get me wrong, but this is a fast food. The service was great, although the cashier didn't even speak Spanish. And I mean, how in the world are you going to go to a place that calls itself a Mexican restaurant and have an employee who doesn't speak what Mexicans actually speak, Spanish. For those who only speak English, like our cashier, pun intended, I'm sure you would agree with me if I was saying this about a Mcdonald's employee who did not speak English. Anyways, We purchased some nachos and let me tell you, price wise it is not cheap, compared to a real Mexican restaurant. The food, looked ok but it did not stay true, the nachos were filled up with cheese, and while the cheese would not normally be a problem for me as I love cheese, you could tell it was very cheap cheese. The plate was almost filled with the cheese and this in return just made the nachos get all soggy. This, to me, is not a good thing to happen, and least of it all when the cheese is so cheap, why you may ask? Because the final product with the cheese, beans, sour cream, the beef and the jalapeños was not a good combination due to the flavor of the cheese not being able to be tasted as it was very cheap. I give them credit in their jalapeños as these were fiery as you would expect. But overall, the food was really less than ok. You do not get Mexican food out of this place, it is not more than a Taco Bell rip off, and honestly at least Taco Bell's cheese is better to begin with. I should've gone to Taco Bell. read more

I'm giving this place three stars because if you have ever lived in corsicana you can appreciate the hometown feel of a cheap place to go that isn't another tacobell or bueno. The food is so horribly good it's crazy. That's the main appeal of this place. We all know it isn't good for you, but we go for it anyways. It's the nasty food you love to enjoy!
