Order chicken and steak fajitas. The steak was so tough it's was l Iike chewing rubber. I received a telephone call as I pulled into my driveway stating they forgot my beans as I got the order to go. I also asked for charred vegetables, not burnt to a crispy. Totally disappointed and tired of paying $$ for poor quality or food you can't eat. I had some business in Corsicana. I googled Mexican restaurants near me and La Pradrea came up googled rated at 4 stars I should have yelp ..yelp rates at 3 stars. Arrived at around 4:30 ordered the frog dip queso,it was good my wife ordered the street taco plate was ok,I order Ruby's plate beef guiso rice and beans was below avarge the rice beans cold..service was good.not sure if I will return...will try other places instead.. My husband and I went to La Pradera on a Friday night. We got there at 5:00 p.m. it wasn't busy yet. (We used to come here all the time). The servers were good, but we reported that we had found hair in our food and the food was cold. I will no longer go here and I will advise everyone that I know not to go there. Also, I was very disappointed, and there was no compensation made for the hair found in the food or anything. We have been eating at this restaurant since they opened. And I just don't know what is going on with La Pradera. read more

We got the El Jalapeño plates and the kiddo got the Fajita Nachos. He balked when he saw the blanco cheese but is now a fan! Beef was a little tough but had good flavor. Everything was really good with the entrees. Chips were good but salsa was a bit lacking. Decent but nothing to shout about. Plant of food for the cost of the meal. The only reason I am not giving a full five stars is because their tortilla chips and corn tortillas are made with a mix of wheat and corn flours. So my choices were limited. Our waitress, Tavia, though! Awesome! She went above and beyond & checked to make sure what I could & could not eat. I had the stuffed avocado with chicken. Holy smoke! Delicious. It was also a lot! The chips were light & crisp with a hint of salt that paired wonderfully with the salsa. Then we tried the frog dip (not photographed) aka loaded queso garnished with a dollop of sour cream, guacamole, pico & ground meat. Not gonna I was iffy about the name, but it turned out to be awesome. I ordered the pineapple & mango margarita (frozen) it could've used a little more ice to make it thicker, but the flavor was there. I would've added an additional shot of tequila as it was a little weak. I wanted to order something that wasn't my usually, so I opted for the Ruby Special. Grilled flank steak in a delish sauce with peppers and onions served with beans & rice. I chose not to eat the tortillas that came with it. I'm giving a 3/5 instead of something lower because my husband said his fajita was very good and very flavorful. He got the triple meat plate and enjoyed the whole thing. I felt that what I got as very average. And maybe somewhat strange. I got a Cheese enchilada and one taco. My enchilada came with a corn tortilla, which is different to me. But I tried it just the same. I would definitely request a flour tortilla in the future. The taco was hard shell with ground beef. I feel like I never see this on a menu and was specifically in the mood for that style. Again, pretty average. The service was slow. read more

Having been raised in San Antonio I was a little hesitant to try this place and expected to be disappointed...I was not! I was here for lunch during the week so I ordered the lunch special with the combo enchilada plate with chicken, beef, and cheese. Both meat enchiladas were moist and the sauce on all three was very tasty! I'm usually disappointed in the rice and beans at some Mexican restaurants but they were both flavorful and didn't require any extra salt or pepper. The tortilla chips were light and crispy and the salsa wasn't too spicy. I read a review that the person passing through town was surprised the enchiladas were made with corn tortillas...guess they're not from TX because that's what we always make our enchiladas with, lol! This place appeared promising as it was busy. Was seated quickly and ordered food quickly. Service was okay. Food came out quick but waiter seemed inattentive. Kicker, is that the food wasn't really good at all. I had trio fajitas and there wasn't much meat. My whole skillet was onions (usually they are mixed with red/green peppers and onions), there was no cheese offered, and the skillet meats were bland. The salsa p was really spicy, but everything else, including the queso was bland. I expected much more from a Mexican Restaurant and left disappointed. The food is good but the service is unpredictable. The last two times I went it appeared they were short staffed. There were plenty of tables open but not enough wait staff. This last time on graduations & Mother's Day weekend, I was shocked. How can you not plan for this? A 45 minute plus wait time! Many people left because of this, an obvious mismanagement error. Also they ran out of silverware both times too. The ambiance is the same ole same ole. Nothing has changed in years. The feeling I get is that the service is steadily deteriorating and they are relying on old standards that is quickly costing them future business. My family and I have eaten here for years. The food has been overall decent and the service inconsistent--sometimes good, sometimes not, but my mom liked their queso and the now discontinued Monterey chicken dish so we would still go. This afternoon's experience was so bad that not only will we never eat there again I have to take to Yelp and warn potential customers. I watched our server, who according to our check was named Jorge, put his fingers directly in three cups to carry them away when bussing a dirty table. Pandemic or not that's lazy and disgusting and I'm sure a health code violation. He also had his mask hanging from his ear while walking through the dinning room. We sat with an empty chip basket for a noticeably long time. (There was only one, maybe two other tables in the restaurant.) When he delivered my mother's food she found a hair sticking out of her beef enchilada. She had not taken a bite. She told me and from across the table I could clearly see it. We quickly called the server over as he was still near from dropping off the plates. He showed no emotion or hospitality. My mother simply asked for a fresh plate of food. It was a taco and enchilada. This takes virtually no time to prepare, but took several minutes before a new plate arrived. He just sat it down and walked away. When the bill arrived we walked up to pay and I expressed my disappointment in regards to the hair and the wait for replacement to the fella at the cash register hoping he was the manager (I should have asked.) I don't usually like to make a fuss but I felt like since my daughter and I were almost finished with our meals by the time hers arrived and the unappealing experience of a hair being lodged in her food he might offer a sincere apology and take her meal off. I feel like that would have been fair. He took $2 of the bill, and showed no remorse for our experience. Two dollars. That's insulting. It's sad that this place has gone so downhill. Sometimes restaurants have an off night but the problem with this place is apathy. No one cares that the patrons aren't taken care of and no cares if health codes are followed. read more

Had to flag our waitress down for things. And then the price was outrageous. $90 for quesadillas, a couple margaritas and beans and rice. Absolutely awful. And the food was not great either. I asked a waitress for silverware and she brought us one napkin and 2 sets if silverware and told us they were running short. I asked her if we each could have a napkin and she brought us 3 more. Didn't want to wait a half hour + on a Saturday night at another Mexican restaurant down the street so thought we'd give La Pradera a shot. So glad we did! The food was absolutely delicious! Tender, delicious fajita meat (got steak/ck combo) and salsa had perfect heat level. Our teen bottomless pit son got a chimichanga and could barely finish it all. Our waiter, Felipe, was super attentive. Building a home in the area and will be visiting this restaurant often. read more

Food was delicious. However, when we first walked in It seemed like the servers were arguing over who had to take our table. The waiter walked over, his name was George, and yelled "DRINKS?" This set the tone for the rest of our experience with George. Overall, terrible service. The young guy at the front was kind. Him and another African American server were the only people who seemed to care at all in the entire establishment. Not even her fries and chicken strips got full marks. Beans had weird fake cheese on top. Guac was ok. Rice was parboiled. Lettuce was fresh. Felt like every thing came out of a can. We were passing through from out of town, and this place was packed out on the Sunday we went, which gave us hope because obviously people like it. My chair was dirty and had to be swapped for a clean one. Once seated, we ordered queso and margaritas. We weren't asked what kind of margarita, but the house margarita was assumed. The house margarita tasted of sweet and sour mix with Jose Cuervo (known for being full of fillers and tasting diluted). The queso was decent, the food was average Tex-Mex. Our waiter, Jorge, had a huge block on his shoulder and seemed to care less about us. He would not stay at our table before we were done asking questions or telling him what we wanted. It was no surprise, then, that he brought us plain queso rather than the "queso with beef" that we ordered. He did not approach our table by introducing himself as our waiter and telling us about any specials or requesting any appetizers or drinks; instead, he pointed at us and said, "drinks?" My daughter's and my plates were completely mixed, meaning that half of the "beef-filled" items that were supposed to be on my plate were the "cheese-filled" items that she ordered on hers. My husband and I specifically requested a second margarita with Patron; it was better, but still made with sweet and sour mix, so not quite worth the $12/ea that we paid for them. House margaritas were $7/ea. We would not return here if we lived nearby. read more

DONT DO IT! You've been properly warned. The POOREST quality food for FIVE STAR prices. I personally made the mistake of not checking Yelp before walking in to this establishment and suffered the inexcusable consequences. The most expensive meal of the poorest quality I've ever had to pay for. They charge extreme prices for tiny ramekins of condiments. The tortilla soup is seemingly nothing more than frozen vegetables, identical to their grilled vegetables, boiled in tap water to translucency. I think I saw something resembling cheese lurking at the bottom covering tentacles of what I can only assume was what they considered chicken. I was not able to power through to verify the the true contents. I'm fairly sure I wouldn't, in sound conscience, be able confidently verify the later. I could go on but I'll just keep it short. I spent $50 for lower quality Mexican food than Taco Bell, and substantially less food. read more

I used to have monthly meetings for the Libertarian party here as well as two county conventions. Also attended another political group's meetings which were held there. Finally moved my meeting elsewhere as the service was terrible. Twice left without being given a menu, drink, etc. Literally sat for an hour once, in the bar, no other people, a man behind the bar, with no offer of being served. Went to another political meeting in April that had a fair turn out, in the meeting room. Was there two hours. No service. Husband went to ask about getting waited on as well as another person who was there. No service. I then heard from the organizer of the April meeting that they were not welcome back to La Pradera because there were too many people in the room at the April meeting. The room was assigned by the restaurant, not the meeting. Seems like a very poor way to do business to complain that you have too many people. This visit was excellent! The food was great as always, but this time so was the service. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, and she took good care of us. We really enjoyed the burritos and the catfish, and the individual salsas brought with the chips. We're looking foreword to stopping in again soon. read more

Horrible service. We were seated at a table and waited forever for a server. People that came in after us received their drinks and chips and salsa before we were waited on. I ordered a shredded chicken chimichanga, but received a shredded chicken burrito. I asked for the chimi with cheese sauce and the burrito was drowning in it. The cheese sauce tasted horrible. I had to go to the hostess stand to complain about my food, since we never saw our waitress again until my food had already been taken back to the kitchen. The waitress never asked if we wanted another drink or to see how the food was. I do not recommend this restaurant. I would give it zero stars if I could. read more
