I don't commonly review chains, but this is one that deserves kudos --the chain and this location. With a menu similar to other Tex-Mex chains (Taco Bell, Taco John's, Del Taco, etc.), I don't know why this place hasn't expanded from coast to coast, because the recipes are simple and delicious. And, for whatever reason, I have never received anything from Taco Casa that didn't taste fresh. Plus -- they use a boat-ton of cheese on everything! Love love love. I always eat too much, but damn it tastes so good. Don't judge me. I have food issues. I know this. I accept it. It reminds me of the childhood fast food Mexican place I loved, so I'm sure there are some childhood issues thrown in there too. Whatever. Supposedly they are coming north Houston, but still at least an hour from me. Maybe if I ran up there I could burn the calories to eat all the food! Anyway, this place is part of a gas station, so it's kinda small, but it was clean, and the people were friendly and the food was fresh. Great little fast food restaurant with very friendly fast service. Tacos are tasty, with the usual seasoned ground beef, shredded lettuce, cheddar cheese, your choice of hard or soft shell. I ordered a tostada with out lettuce, it had very good refried beans and a lot of cheddar cheese. Not a fan of their packaged hot sauce. The restaurant is connected to the minimart, this makes it convenient for a road trip snacks. read more

This place is like Taco Bell back in the 80s and early 90s. Simple menu and they have the spicy green sauce that I like on the burritos. Quality is way better than Taco Bell. I stop here every time I'm passing thru if I'm hungry or not. read more

I stopped here on Sunday to grab a bite to eat. To my surprise I found a piece of tile in my food. Called the store back and asked to speak with the manager; he was pleasant but asked if I wanted them to remake the order. I completely do not want to eat anything else there. Taco Casa...how I like thee. Thursday is taco day. The tacos are pretty decent, way better than taco bell and the cheese...my oh my the cheese. On a side note, take a little bit more time and order inside the restaurant. When you order through the drive thru, the skimp a bit (lesson learned last night). Nice clean Taco Casa in a Gas Station At first I had my doubts, but as we were driving from Dallas to Houston, hunger sat in and there was no choice but to go to Taco Casa. This one did not disappoint, and it not only was super clean, but the staff was very friendly. Menu is the same as every other Taco Casa, so you get a Taco or a Super Taco, a Chilada, or Taco Salad. My favorite is the taco lite. The tacos are full of cheese, and the meat is really good. This is a worthwhile stop if you are in the area. read more

This is what Taco Bell was like in the early 80s (in a good way). I make it a point to always stop when driving through north Texas.

Fast and friendly service. It is connected to the gas station so it was easy to get gas, use the facilities and grab a quick bite to eat. They have a cute eating area to sit down and cool off while you eat. Staff was cleaning dining area constantly and hold doors open for those with their hands full. This place is great. They put LOTS of cheese on their food and its real ingredients Unlike others that use disgusting dried beans and meat out of a bag. They have excellent customer service as well, one day I went in and ordered for our family of 4 and the credit card machine started acting up. The girl asked if I had cash and I didn't, and they just said fine and its on us this time. I was very happy about that and have went back several times since then. It's an abbreviated menu, compared to other fast food Mexican, but I like the quality of what the put on there: the cheese is cheddar, and it tastes like cheddar. The ground beef tastes like ground beef. You get where I am going -- the ingredients are good, and the food is cheap. Try out this place rather than running to the border one time -- I think you might find yourself going to this gas station on your Dallas-Houston drive a few more times in the future! read more

Good stuff! Much better than the bell... tacos actually tastes like a taco should... I had a super taco and a super taco lite (the latter has a crispy flour shell) and both were loaded with a substantial amount of tasty, perfectly seasoned ground beef that actually looked and tasted like traditional taco filling. They both had ample cheese that had a flavor you could actually discern (versus the few tasteless, stingy shreds I get when I run for the border). Wish they had locations near me, I'd be a regular. The food was ok. But I was surprised that the manager was rudely yelling at her employees. She was yelling hurtful and mean things. Employees should report her to someone. One of the employees a young African guy with an accent told me that she was always yelling like that. I asked for her name, they told me Lupe but they didn't give me a last name.
