I personally prefer the GBC Whataburger over Athens because it's usually a little less busy and the food and service is better. This Whataburger is a good one. The food was good and the girl behind the counter named Ashlyn was super friendly and gave good customer service. We even watched her handle some difficult customers with incredible patience. Whoever manages this place needs to give her a raise. She was great. I came here for lunch with some friends on a Sunday afternoon. This Whataburger establishment is connected to the convenience store (which I didn't visit at this time). Full disclosure--I didn't visit the restroom, so I didn't notice if Whataburger shares restrooms with the convenience store, or if they have their own, or what the restrooms are even like (one-seaters, or multi-stalled, counter space or changing tables, etc). The staff are friendly and helpful, and the eating area is clean and roomy. They have a drive-through (so watch for traffic if parked on the west side of the building). They have fountain drinks, including some juice (Powerade) & tea along with the usual carbonated drinks (Cokes, Sprite, & Dr Pepper: the blood-type of most Texans!). As an ovo-lacto-vegetarian, Whataburger isn't normally my first choice, due to the limited vegetarian-friendly options on the menu. But I found some great stuff this time! (Note: breakfast here is served 11pm to 11am, so a few more veggie-friendly options may open up during those hours.) They have a Garden Salad (can also be ordered with chicken), & a variety of sauces & dressings. I had the "Creamy Pepper" sauce (Note: contains eggs, which I still eat, but just including that for the sake of allergy info), which was deliciously spicy! I would definitely recommend it, & would order that sauce again! (The salad is also good-sized, so it can be eaten by itself, rather than as a side-salad.) Another great vegetarian-friendly "recipe" idea from the menu: Grilled Cheese Sandwich (under "Kids' Menu"), but including some "grownup" add-ons like avocados, mushrooms, & fajita veggies. I would definitely order this again! The staff was very flexible in working with me in the making of this. Thank you, it was delicious! After ordering (& yes, they take credit cards), I got a number (like a plastic standing "tent") & joined my friends at the table (after getting my drink). I didn't wait very long (barely 5 minutes), before one of the staff members brought my tray over to the table. Sometimes the staff are out cleaning & maintaining the eating area, so while they are there, they offer to take away any trash from your table. I would definitely enjoy returning to this Whataburger establishment in the future! read more

Everytime I come up here there is always a issue! They do not greet there customers. A lady named April took my order tonight around at 9pm my husband ordered his food and it took me a second to decide and as I was in the middle of telling him my order April states "is that all" we didn't reply cause he was trying to hear to last part and she said the total and to pull foward. My husband stated we weren't done order and she Sighed loudly into the headset as if it were a issue we weren't done! This place will no longer receive my time or money! read more

I've been eating low carb and got to where I dreaded eating at hamburger joints where you get a pathetic patty with a sprinkle of veggies. So I've been ordering the Swiss mushroom burger without the bun, sauce, tomatoes, onions and lettuce on the side.They fixed the best plate of all the Whataburger restaurants I've eaten at. As a general manager, when I stop into restaurants, I find myself being fairly judgmental. So it's a shock to me when I have zero complaints. This Whataburger happened to be a stop on my way back home from Louisiana. The bathrooms are very clean. The restaurant side itself is very clean. The guests here are so friendly! And I know it's a small town so everyone knows everyone but this was just the sweetest! Then, as if that's not good enough. The employees are amazingly friendly. There's a bond among them that I only wish my own staff had. Ms. Cathy was super friendly and seemingly upset that she was unable to offer a military discount. Nonetheless, this isn't an expectation for us. We just always ask. No big deal. Cathy allowed my toddlers to order for themselves and even helped them. She was so patient and sweet to them. She even complimented how beautiful they are. Our meal was presented fresh and hot. Cathy came over again, shook hands with my spouse and thanked him for his service. She was absolutely a doll. If you could take this staff and implement a staff like them in every restaurant, you would have happy guests everywhere. Huge kudos to this store!!! read more
