Tacos
Krysten E.

We were afraid that Tennessee tacos couldn't compare to our California ones, but these are really good. We will be back for sure. This time we had the shrimp, asada, adobada, chicken and carnitas. A couple critiques, though it's only about things that would make these authentic street tacos (Mexican family here, so yes, it's a thing). 1. Some of my tacos had romaine vice cilantro. Cilantro and onions are staple for most street tacos. 2. Carnitas are more of a shredded pork vice a crispy outside, like it should be. Again, still delicious, but above is why I give it 4 stars.

Tacos: Chicharron & Asada

Great little spot right off Central. The outdoor ambiance has decent parking, a fenced-in lot, & plenty of well-lit open air seating. I went at a later time and the service was quick & polite. Two tacos come with a side of coleslaw & a packet of their crema sauce. Throw in a Mexican Coke and you're right at $12. I chose Asada and Chicharron. The tacos were very "birria" like which is a-okay by me! They had a good helping of protein for the price & plenty of flavor. The crema was also good but not necessary for the steak because it was EXCELLENT. The Chicharron is a little daring. While not terrible, I was slightly adverse to the taste and the texture seemed rubbery. Highly recommend this place & will return, although I'll play it safe next time and stick with a more familiar protein.

I ordered a veggie burrito through DoorDash and when I was eating the first half of my burrito there was a fly moving from under the sauce packaged in the container box. Of course, this was so disgusting I couldn't finish the other half. A loss of $20! I highly suggest you all checking containers before they go out to customers! I ordered from the Summer Ave location.

Amazing food. If you're new to the area and you're worried that it's a food truck, don't worry at all. They have multiple locations and every one I've eaten at has been amazing. I've had the street tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. Not sure which is my favorite, but the Al pastor street tacos I had today were delicious. Not too spicy, but enough to let you know it's there. Give this place a try.

We stumbled upon this place while sitting at a red light. No lie. We happened to look to our right and boom we spotted this taco street truck. Listen some of the best food you can ever eat comes from a street truck. Don't ask me why but that's a fact. This place is no exception. I have to say that the set go here is really nice. You order your food and you have somewhere to sit, stand or go back to your car. We knew it was going to be good because more people started coming. We had steak, chicken and shrimp tacos. They were all flavorful and good. I just wish I had some sauce of some kind of sauce to put on them. Memphis residents and visitors check them out. They have more than one location.

This is some of the fastest and freshest Mexican food I've had! They have multiple locations; this one is a food truck parked in Cooper-Young with a large outdoor seating area. They do offer a few drinks such as water and Jarritos, but you can easily bring your own drinks since you will be sitting outside. My favorite taco was the pastor (pork and pineapple), which was the most flavorful meat I tried. The carne asada and carnitas meats were not as flavorful to me. I recommend getting their specialty taconganas, which come with cheese and a tortilla dipped in a sauce.

First time here. I get it. This place is legit. I got the asada, pollo, and veggie tacos. All good. Service great.

The BEST tacos you will ever have in your life! I'm so happy with this location because it's centrally located and right in the mix of other shops and restaurants. Only outside seating is available, but it's so nice to sit out on a nice evening. This is a MUST eat. Quality is always on point.

Always good! Stop creeping up on prices. Expensive for food truck experience. And each taco should come with a sauce

I placed my order ahead online and it was very easy to park here. You can also call your order in. I will admit that the place is located in a somewhat sketchy area. This is pretty much a carryout place. During warmer weather, they do have tables out for their customers to eat though. Anyway, my food was ready when I got there and the staff was very friendly. I got a an Asada Taco, Pastor Taco, and Barbacoa Torta. They were all fresh, flavorful and delicious. I really liked them. I highly recommend checking this place out if you are looking for some delicious Mexican food.

I can tell there are strict portion guidelines, and I understand needing to do so to ensure profitability, but the shrimp were small and scarce. For a $20+ sandwich, my only thoughts while eating it were those that were shaming myself, because I could've bought a whole bag of large wild caught Argentinian shrimp for the same amount that I paid for this sad little sandwich. The barbacoa torta had the same soggy problem. My past couple of experiences have been similar. Taking a break from this establishment.

The food was excellent and we had a great server (Maggie) who helped us navigate the menu and the array of complimentary sauces. We ordered chips and dip (homemade) and this is not the standard bagged chips with salsa bottle. Crisp and substantial chips with fresh, flavorful, slightly spicy salsa. Really good! Maggie recommended the Birria Burrito with consume for my husband. Wow!!! Loaded with tender and flavorful shredded beef, whole beans, rice, and cheese in a grilled tortillia wrapper with a rich and hearty consume. He has a healthy appetite and still took some home. I got 2 alpastor tacos, which were excellent. Tender and flavorful pork with just enough pineapple. I alsi had a grilled chicken taco that was good, but not as luscious as the pastor. We LOVED the sauces. Yes, you got some mighty heat with a few of these, but they never sacrificed flavor for the sake of heat. Great pickled onion and habenaros, fresh crisp radish and cucumber, smokey, spicy dips. What is not to love!! Churos for desert, sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. Clean, well lit reasurant. Casual. Friendly service, great parking!! We will be back (and bring friends!)

I still can't stop thinking about the sauce station here. There's a private parking lot shared with the surrounding businesses, and the restaurant has around 15 tables inside. It is a good casual spot if you are looking to dine here. FOOD: This restaurant does not serve complimentary chips and salsa. It is $2.95 an order. 1. Torta Villa Carbon (4/5; marinated grilled chicken topped with grilled onions, grilled pineapple, melted cheese, jalapeños, and avocado): This was huge. I ended up saving half for lunch the next day. The combination of sweet and savory flavors worked really well together. 2. Campechano Burrito (4/5; steak strips and chorizo with rice, beans, lettuce, onion, tomato, and jalapeño): Steak and chorizo are always a winning combination, and this burrito did not disappoint. 3. Chirucas Chimichanga (4/5; two medium chimichangas stuffed with rice, beans, cheese dip, and your choice of meat, served with lettuce, pico de gallo, and sour cream): I chose the grilled marinated pork (al pastor), which was flavorful and satisfying. The server mentioned that the chicken version is their favorite. The service was decent overall, though it could be slow at times. I noticed a few tables waiting a while before servers came to take orders or refill drinks, and my drink was empty for a bit before getting a refill. Dinner service can get very busy, as every table was once full in one of my visits. Would I come back? Absolutely.
