Been a fan of Taco Mar since their West Chester location. I moved to Kennett Square a while back so I didn't get there as much. When I heard they opened in Chadds Ford my wife and I had to try it. We started with the nachos which were solid -- big portion, well topped. Then we got the octopus tacos and fish tacos. Both were really good. The fish tacos are still my favorite thing on the menu. The owner was working the floor and was genuinely great -- friendly, attentive, made sure everything was good. You can tell he cares about the place. Glad they're closer to us now. Had a chance to talk to the owner and was super pleasantly surprised to be treated with such hospitality! He described the process with how they source their food, and showed photos of the large shrimps they use. He even gave me a sample of their shredded beef for free! Will definitely comeback. Also had the beef quesadillas the other day and it was really nice with the generous portions. read more

A huge fan of Taco Mar in West Chester so obviously this is our new favorite place to eat. My wife and I remember going to Taco Mar in West Chester when they were on High Street. Our go to orders are make your own burritos, chicken taquitos, chips and guac, chips and queso. I also like the Americano Tacos. I usually get 1 steak, 1 chicken, and 1 ground beef. The atmosphere in Chadds Ford is great too and much better parking than West Chester. I highly recommend this place for everyone. read more

Upscale restaurant pricing for taco bell service and questionable flavor. I really wanted to love this place, truly. I actually don't think I've ever had any Latino food I didn't enjoy, until now. The refried beans were watery and bland. The carnitas tasted...confusing. The rice was flavorless. The salsa was bland. The tortilla chips themselves were pretty tasty, but that was the only thing we enjoyed. I'm not impressed. The service was confusing, and I had to constantly go back up to stand and wait at the counter to ask for basic things like water or for an item we ordered that never came out. Using a mobile menu to order for several people takes terribly long if we all can't see the menu at once. And it still took 20 mins to get the food after ordering, which isn't terrible, but it's also slower than other great sit-down Latino food I've had in the area. Even the music was too loud (and I liked the actual music!). I swear I'm not trying to nitpick-- I wanted to like this place! If you're looking for this kind of food, just go down to La Tolteca for a better and tastier experience. Even Qdoba does it better. I'm sorry to leave so much negativity in this review, but this was my true experience. I'm really disappointed. read more

Tasteless poor excuse for Mexican food. This place does everything on the cheap. They charge for chips and salsa! Our two entrees and tip was almost $60. It makes Taco Bell seem like a gourmet restaurant! No table service. Go up to the counter and order. read more

I eat tacos on a weekly basis and decided to give this place a try....Never again!! The meat in the chicken tacos looked like minute steak meat and there was zero flavor, not to mention they looked like they were small enough for a kids meal. The sauces were literally tomato flavored water. The queso was decent but the tortilla chips were like biting into 1/8" plywood. It was a 30 dollar meal that went into the trash and I won't be revisiting this establishment. read more

We went in with high expectations, but the experience was quite disappointing. The food was very underwhelming, the salsas had little to no flavor (especially surprising since they were an extra charge), and even the basics like refried beans and rice were poorly done. The tres leches cake also tasted stale. The service didn't match the pricing. There was no water at the table, and I had to keep going up to the counter for simple things, which felt inconvenient for what we paid. The ambiance is amazing. We came in and were treated with respect and kindness and the workers are all friendly and kind. The chips and dips were great and the food was great too. I recommend the fish tacos and the Mexican coke. Best Mexican restaurant in the area! read more

The service was enthusiastic and kind. The menu is unique, including the standout Baja tacos with fried shrimp and fish and cabbage on a flour tortilla. Queso chips and salsa were great, especially paired with a guava Jarritos. Overall great meal and good addition to our neighborhood. read more
