Wife & I have tried same restaurant in Exton, PA and loved it. Had been there a few times and had suggested it to our daughter & son in-law, who also enjoyed it very much. Our only issue was it wasn't close to our house. We found out about this Kennett Square location and figured all would be great. Tonight was our first time at this Kennett Square location and we were excited to try it. We were disappointed shortly after being seated and things didn't get much better as our visit continued. The first waitress we had took a while to get to our table and once she took our drink order, it was obvious she was either new at this job or just didn't have it together. After 20 mins and no drinks and restaurant attendance started to grow. I finally asked another waitress walking by if she could at least bring us a water until the other waitress could get our drinks we'd ordered. The second waitress apologized, retook our drink order and took our dinner order. After 27 minutes after being seated, we received our drinks. It took another 10 minutes to get our guacamole at the table. Shortly afterwards, our dinners arrived to the table. The dish we both ordered was enchilada verdes which we'd had a couple times previously at the Exton location. We immediately noticed the enchiladas dish looked different from what we'd experienced at Exton location. At our first taste, we noticed the enchiladas were filled with dry chicken and didn't have a lot of taste. Also the ones we had at the Exton location had cheese inside with the chicken and were far from being dry. My wife said they were supposed to have cheese inside so I asked to waitresses if she could please bring us a menu because we wanted to check something out, so I could check to see if cheese is listed as something we could have expected. This is menu description: ENCHILADAS VERDE-AGAVE / 18 4 grilled chicken and cheese enchiladas drizzled with our special agave tomatillo sauce, touch of cheese dip, fresh red onions, cilantro and cheese. Try them the way they are, you will not regret! So as stated on menu, chicken and cheese and end of menu detail, it clearly states; Try them the way they are, you will not regret! The waitress asked if there was an issue and we politely asked about the missing cheese and had explained this dish was not as good as we had multiple times at a different location. She took menu up to manager and shared our concern and manager told her to let us know, they don't have the proper cheese to put inside like the other location. Waitress offered to bring us something different but since we had already been here for what we considered a long time, we weren't going to wait for a new meal to be prepared. The waitress was very nice and apologizing, we told her to please bring us something different cheese sauce or something to help add what we knew was left out in the kitchen. Neither of us finished our meal and asked for our check. We found out that our initial waitress had only been employed there a short time and was still learning. Nowadays, going into a restaurant and ordering a simple meal and beverage, it's no issue in costing you $100, which this meal accomplished. I can deal with and understand a new employee being a little slow and maybe making small errors and I can understand if a kitchen runs out of an item on the menu, but what I really have an issue with is the lack of concern in the manager trying to address a customer's concerns! The manager walked quickly past our table several times and when we were walking towards the exit after our experience, the manager was heading our way until he saw us coming his way at which point he immediately did an about face and walked the other way until we exited the restaurant. To me, this is a terrible manager and should maybe stay in the kitchen to allow someone else manage the restaurant & customers! Not for sure I'd return to this Kennett Square location if management doesn't seem to be concerned about customer issues!! read more

Well, for me that's Mexican since she hardly ever asks for it. I only know two Mexican places in San Antonio that she loves. But I digress. I think this is my third time here and I was shocked I hadn't reviewed the prior two. In general my experience here was positive before, but on this one I'd have to label it average or typical Mexican dining. My wife had the shrimp fajitas and I had the Barria tacos with the consumé. We shared a queso appetizer which was totally dominated by chorizo. Food tasted fresh, but in terms of flavor and spice, very just average. Lunch on a Monday drew a good crowd, curious what weekend dinner looks like. The food was good and portion size appropriate. I left satisfied and without leftovers. Normally, I would order apps and dessert to try multiple menu items, but it was a work lunch, and I'm sure I would have caught the itis midday if I had. Our party of 10 stopped here for dinner around 6:30 on a Saturday a couple weekends ago. Considering the size of our party, we were seated right away. (We had called ahead; they said they don't take reservations but had a large table open, which we luckily claimed.) Service was friendly but somewhat half-hearted...maybe our server was just tired. The food was OK. Their chips and salsa are delicious! Table-side guacamole was decent, albeit a bit chunky. I think it's a bit pricey, but the portion was generous. Entrees were served hot and tasted good for the most part, but just seemed boring, for lack of a better word. Everything was smothered with the same red sauce. The pepper itself in the Chile Relleno was soggy and bland. In hindsight I probably should have ordered something else. Drinks were OK. The mango in my Mango Mojito tasted like artificial flavor (as opposed to fresh fruit purée), though it was not bad. We did not get dessert. The experience overall was all right, just nothing special. It's your average American Tex-Mex chain that has an expansive menu for everyone, a laid-back atmosphere, and acceptable service. The service was good. The food... was edible. Not very good mexican food, if i wanted americanized mexican food i'd go to taco bell and get much tastier food. The place inside was nice, very spacious. We got the combos as everything was pricy and we wanted to try a variety of food. The tacos were ground beef and cheese. I was appalled. Wow! I was last there a couple of years ago, I guess pre-pandemic. My impression at the time was that it was an adequate place for Mexican food. I don't know what changed, but something sure did. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. Drink: I got a frozen "house" Margarita. I was asked if I'd like large or regular. Of course, I asked for large, but I didn't expect it to be the size of a goldfish bowl! The one lasted through dinner, and it was excellent. It was more than just a standard Margarita recipe. I don't know what all went into it, but it was not your standard recipe, and it was fantastic. Dinner: I got a couple of cheese enchiladas with refried beans and brown rice - pretty standard, right? But the sauce they put on top was AMAZING! It had flavors that I had never experienced before. I was just blown away. We got the fried ice cream for dessert and enjoyed it. This is actually the first place I ate out at in our Covid-19 world and I was happy that they offer tables outside on the sidewalk. No one else sat outside while we were there so I felt totally safe. Food was really good, I really enjoyed the queso fundito and my chimichangas. Really hit the spot. My margarita was interesting, but I will keep trying different flavors next time. The only negative was that our server seemed to forget about us. My dad asked for a beer twice which never came and then we had to go inside to ask for the check and then bring it back inside. Have gone here several times after a friend recommended this place. The homemade guacamole, which is made table side, is great. They make it according to what you like. More spicy? No problem. Love jalapenos? No problem. Entrees are tasty and menu is extensive. I have had the fajitas and the entree that is chicken in a pineapple (not sure what the name of it is but is worth a try for those that like pineapple) Price is right on point. I took my family during lunch hour on a Wednesday and we loved the atmosphere since not a lot of people there. The food was delicious. We ordered the guacamole appetizer and asked to have it a little hot. Everything came at a timely fashion. The only thing that was strange is when we ordered one dish to go there was surcharge of $.50 which made no sense. When we asked for the manager to dispute the surcharge he said it is for the packaging. Let us think about this for a moment, I can go in and use the facility and sit for almost an hour and when done ask for box for the left over with a bag and there is NO surcharge, but if I order to go I get a surcharge? Kennett Square is the mushroom capital of the world so of course that's where you would go for a great inexpensive Mexican meal, right? In this case yes. Kennett Square is also the home of Logwood Gardens so if you are headed out there for that amazing experience these folks are about three minutes away. So now let's talk about finding them. On Route 1 South there is an Applebee's in Kennett Square. The trick is to turn in there and they are hidden in a little plaza just behind them. Parking is a breeze. This was my first visit here but I'm very familiar with them as they are a small chain. I've been to their location in Plymouth Meeting many many times. I knew what to expect and was not disappointed. If you are a carnivore the Burrito San Jose is the choice for you. It's a huge tortilla stuffed with chicken and chorizo sausage in addition to rice and beans. It's topped with a cheese sauce and pico de gallo. I've had it before, it was still delicious, and I was stuffed. I washed this down with two, that's right two, 22 oz. Modelo drafts in frosty mugs. Now for the punch line; my bill was $15 and change! It doesn't get much better than that. I was watching the staff carefully as the served other customers. This location has been open about three months and it appears they have worked out all the kinks. The food was coming out fast and the staff was friendly and efficient. You may encounter little bit of a language barrier when dealing your waiter or waitress but it will be minor. So these guys are a chain but a very good one. If you are looking for a delicious Americanized Mexican meal without breaking the bank you're in the right place. read more

Upon sitting we were served chips and salsa (it's goooood) and given ample time to order. I started with my beverage of choice, Sangria. The glass was HUGE and did not disappoint so I obviously recommend. I heart table side Guac! My boyfriend and I have been to plaza azteca at least 3 times and we have always had a pleasant experience. The restaurant is nice and clean and the staff is always friendly. They give you complimentary chips and salsa, which might be my favorite thing about Plaza Azteca. I am a vegetarian and they have a little section in the menu devoted to vegetarian options. There is also one vegan option, the burrito bowl. I ordered the enchiladas vegetarianas. They came out very quickly and were hot and tasty. They are covered in a cheese sauce. There is one bean, one potato, and one cheese enchilada. It also comes with a side of Mexican rice. Everything was super tasty. I also frequently order the Sonora which is yummy. The portion sizes are big and the price is not bad. Overall, plaza azteca is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants and I will continue to eat here. read more
