My expectations weren't that high for this place, but it's actually decent. We did Taco Tuesday with their $1.99 deal. I got carne asada while my partner got al pastor and tripe. I thought the carne asada was solid. My partner said the al pastor was well marinated and flavorful. No comments about the tripe, it was just so-so. The plate comes with some limes, a bit of jalapeños, radish, and cucumber. Overall for food court food, it's not terrible.

When it comes to Taco Mania, I still like Mexican tacos. Time to taco 'bout my experience! Hard shell was fine despite falling apart after one bite; therefore, soft shell was better. All veggie ingredients? Bring it on! Though I almost couldn't handle the spicy peppers, it's a good thing an extra kick of salsa. I had a tall cup of horchata to help ease down the spiciness in my mouth. A good warm up from taking on one mini red hot luchador. Customer service at Taco Mania was pleasant and modest. I might eventually come back to try Birria Ramen in case I run out of options.

Wanted a snack and the nachos caught our attention. Ordered the nachos with carne asada. I think I was expecting it to be topped with crema and guac, too. Topped with nacho cheese rather than shredded cheese that gets melted under a broiler. It was ok - don't know if I'd order them again. Hubs ordered the tripa street tacos. He said they were ok.

Powdered agua fresca and horchata. The day I went it was watery pineapple. For $6, not worth it. Grab your thermos and get water instead. I'm not a fan of powdered drinks. It was also watery. The chips are cheap and from a bag. Guacamole was less tasty than Trader Joe's. Definitely Chiptole Guacamole would be better. Burrito was skimpy and the meat tasted cheap. I was not liking it. I didn't take a picture because my friend decided to take it since I didn't want it. My coworker got the birria taco. It was like $7 each which is pricey. He said it was super salty. We were all disappointed.

Was in the area and decided to try out this spot for late lunch. The place is located inside stonestown mall food court. It is clean and appears well maintained. The hostess was friendly and helpful. I elected to try their Birria Tacos and Birria Ramen as it looked so appetizing looking at their posters and pictures of it on their wall and menu. The price is affordable and I didn't wait long to be served. The food looked and smelled great. It was fresh and hot. When I tasted it, it was good and not bad at all and it satisfied my hunger. I'm sure I will return to try their other stuff on the menu.

This place is actually pretty good for it being in a food court at the mall. The birria ramen was definitely a great choice, the broth was amazing and the meat was extremely tender. Portion was decent, I should've gotten another bowl it was that good. Only one cook and one order taker so be patient with them. I love the lively decor! If you can't tell by the review, I will be back for more ramen!

Dual pricing? Maybe for take out.

Nice to have another taco option in the food court. I wanted to try the carne asada fries but they were out of French fries, so I went with cane asada nachos. Carne Asada Nachos They were good. Not great, but not bad either. Very commercial ingredients except the steak and spicy sauce. I'm not complaining because the dish was good and the chips were crispy. Cost Not outrageous, but not cheap either. Confusingly, they have "dual pricing" on the receipt which doesn't make any sense to me. I ate in the food court so I'm not sure what that was for.

Little greasy in my opinion but overall not too bad for the price. If you're craving something new and different why not?

First time here and it's the last time. Ordered 4 hard shells tacos, beans, rice, birria ramen. The asada for the tacos was bland. No seasoning whatsoever. Barely any meat and it's very chewy. I asked for refried beans and got whole beans instead. The rice was hard like it was yesterday or a day before. The beans and the rice was probably a half a quart for $5 each which is expensive. Everywhere else we go to is $3 or less. Ramen was the thing that was ok. Can soda for 3.50 is crazy. And u get charged for dual pricing for everything and I don't even know what the heck that is.

Tacos were great, got the student discount and everything but I was Supremely Shell shocked when I found a fly in my agua fresca :(

This place is amazing. Everything I tried is awesome, which was the birria, asada, suadero, and Al pastor. My favorites are the Al pastor and suadero/brisket, which are far above average. The Al pastor even comes with pineapple. Their customer service is also amazing. They forgot my birria taco in my to go order. When I went back to pick it up, they comped and remade my entire order and not just the birria taco. Excellent and friendly service, delicious food, I'll definitely be back!

    Tripa taco

Yum! I didn't know there was a taco new place at Stonestown. The sign was a bit bright to stare at for long but I think it's good marketing strategy. It looks quirky and fun. The food: Excellent seasoning. I even forgot to get hot sauce, but even with just the meats on my tacos, I really enjoyed myself! Tacos ordered: 1 suadero 1 chicharon 1 lengua 2 tripa Looking forward to the next time I come back

Second quesabirria couldn't was so good I went for more must try.

Over the years I've found myself drawn to the other contender in the Mission way more than El Farolito, so I decided it was time to head back to try this legendary burrito shop. Getting to this location is super simple as we took BART and got off at the 24th Street Mission BART station and from there it's a very short walk of less than a block to get to El Farolito. Walking into the shop one is just slapped in the face with the beautiful smells of the carne asada cooking on the grill right by the door-it's wonderful. It's a modest place that you can definitely tell was built many years ago,so no overly modern amenities-this place cares about the food, not the ambiance. We ended up going with a couple of super burritos of Carne Asada ($11.25) & a regular burrito of Al Pastor($10.25) & also added two tacos one with Al Pastor and one with Carne Asada($4.75) They had beers at $4.75-so we grabbed a couple of Modelos. First the tacos-they were just ok,the tacos were crunchy and I don't know kind of gave Taco Bell vibes. Burritos though-that's a whole different animal. The burrito was so well made from the chew of the tortilla to the seasoning of the carne asada to the perfect balance and mix of all the other ingredients.I judge a burrito harshly if the mix isn't right and you don't get every ingredient in every bite and the mix at El Farolito was flawless. The price point was pretty impressive as well. In closing, El Farolito has always been in the mix as one of the top burrito spots in the Mission, and I can say with confidence that it's in my Top 2 in San Francisco currently. It's an incredible burrito and a true "must-visit" spot when visiting San Francisco. P.S. Just a slight heads up when visiting , it's not the safest neighborhood in the world, so just keep your head up when visiting-this is a place one visits for the food experience not the ambiance.

Even my picky eater, who wouldn't normally choose anything but meat and cheese, ate his as they come. The line here was long, but moved surprisingly fast, and our orders were still good and hot when we got back to our hotel. Street parking is a beast, just like anywhere else in this city. If I was looking to pack on several pounds, I'd eat here every day.

Pretty big menu, if you're in the mood for Mexican this place got you covered. Review #1,092 Posted on 7.23.26…read more We stopped in here on a whim last Saturday the 18th. I found this spot on Yelp after the 1st place we wanted to go to for lunch had a line about a block long. This spot had super good ratings and was also close by. We were so happy we ended up here. There was a few places left to sit inside, and the World Cup semi finals were on too, a good game 6-4 England over France. The cooks were going crazy in the back when goals were scored, it was a fun dining experience. The food here was excellent, the chips were so fresh and crispy, salsa really good flavor and tasted great also. My chile verde was super tender and flavorful. I also tried my kids shrimp quesadilla, and it was great too. Food came out super fast and they still have people there to help you out with bringing the food out and take away dishes, etc. It's a order counter type, then you sit and wait for your food. Tips are in order here when you order as they do wait on you somewhat after you're sat. I would come back here 100% and recommend this spot for good Mexican food.

A lot of people mentioned about the service, the mole, and birria. I am a big fan of birria tacos so I decided to give it a try. Because I would be coming from Philadelphia, I called to see if they have a reservation. Jose, the owner, who answered my call was super friendly and nice. He said that there's no reservations but he promised to secure some seats for us because the week prior they were really busy. At that point I knew that the service would be excellent. When I got there Jose and staff were super welcoming as if we've known each other for a long time. He gave 2 small plates of rice, red enchilada sauce, green enchilada sauce, mole with chicken tinga, and birria. Everything is super flavorful and authentic. It transported me to Mexico because I could taste the homemade cooking in it and the passion and love in preparing this amazing food. They take pride in the quality of their cooking. Both the chicken tinga and birria meat are tender and fresh. You can order the food at the touch screen at the counter. You can select your preference for the filling. My friend asked to separate the meat from the tortillas and separate consommé. Jose gladly accommodate her special request. Definitely above and beyond service. They provide complimentary chips and salsa. The chips are fresh and thin with 2 green sauce and two red ones. The staff warned us that the red onesie are hot. The salsa is very fresh and homemade. The mole sauce has a flavor that I can't find anywhere else. I could taste the chocolate but not very sweet. It's very unique and delicious. The red and green enchilada sauce are also phenomenal . Not too salty, yet light and packed with flavor. Their birria tacos are now one of my top ones that I've ever had. Very flavorful and not salty. Definitely recommend it. Guacamole is also a good appetizer because it is very fresh. The restaurant is clean with seatings at the front and back of the restaurant. I still cannot forget the taste of the enchilada sauce that blew me away. I left my heart in Cocina Mamá Cholita. Thanks you for a memorable dinner.
