Review for Uber eats order from this place. Ordered the machete, which was good... fairly filling, and tasty. Wish they gave some hot sauce or served jalapenos, because it could definitely do with a kick. Tres leche was surprisingly good, and generous serving for the price. Didn't include silverware in the order!

Nice clean welcoming vibe (with the exception of NO I.C.E. authorities allowed) inside. You order via computer kiosk and Customer Service takes it from there. Ordered the Shrimp taco which had a good amount of food on it. Just wish the tortilla was bigger to catch all it upon folding. Great idea with the Salsa Bar to get what flavorings and how much you want. I also ordered a side of Mexican Rice with a soft drink. About $13.10 for the meal. Ample Free Parking at least during the afternoon

I love the machete--so come hungry! This beast is a 16-inch folded corn masa tortilla packed with your choice of meat, beans, crisp lettuce, Mexican cheese, and creamy crema. Drizzle on the green salsa and it takes it over the top, its absolute perfection!

Been here a few times and as much as I like this place I can only think there are so many places, just better than this place! I don't know if I really have anything about this place...other than I don't like the fact all their sides are extra, they come in those tiny little plastic containers (for god sake, stop using so much plastic) and are expensive for what you get! The food is good, not great. the service is much the same and the place is always busy and a little dirty! Again, not saying it's bad but there are at least three other places I can think of within 10 minutes of that are just better! Will be back when I am in the area and in need of quick, a little pricy, just ok food! KT

This was a very unassuming place to eat. The reviews did not give it justice. I ordered the Machete Costeo and it was one of the best tacos I ever ate. I would have given it 5 stars, but they wouldn't give me more of the avocado sauce. No reason, just said they can't. I offered to pay for it but no dice. So sad.

Very rarely do I think of places as "must eat" or "must try", but Taco Libre kind of fits that mold. I came here with one thing in mind - The Machete. It is definitely a bit of a unique option and it looked good on the menu. I was NOT prepared. The thing is massive... And it pained me to not finish it! It was very good. I like the fact that you can get two different meats if you want to try multiple or split it with someone (which I should have thought of). The grilled onion mushroom combo was bomb - and I had the chicken tinga on the other half was also fantastic. I definitely thought they were going to mix the meats together - so FYI they are separated into two distinct halves. The place was packed when I walked in, but the service was fast. Note that you can only order via the kiosks and not at the counter - some people seemed to struggle and take forever choosing... I guess not everyone reviews the menu beforehand like me, ha! The salsa bar was a slick touch. They have several options. My favorite was the creamy light green salsa. It packed a punch of heat and tasted great. I ended up dipping my sandwich in it about 1/3 of the way through (I only made it about 2/3 to 3/4 anyway). Now if only I could take a post-lunch nap... Almost too full at this point!

Yum! The food here was delicious! Did we come to Minnesota expecting scrumptious Mexican food?! Nope, but we're glad we found it. The place is very casual and the menu is huge. The prices aren't too bad. The staff was efficient. The place was really busy. I had the quesabirria tacos and they were delicious! My mom and daughter had the carne asada tacos and they liked them. The Hubby had the GF bowl and it was good. We would definitely recommend this place. The horchata was also tasty.

I first tried the Birria tacos at a food truck festival and was blown away. I decided to visit the restaurant a couple of weeks later and it was okay. Overall, the restaurant was clean and had great artwork. It did seem spacious and parking was pretty easy. The staff was also incredibly friendly and helpful. As for the food, the Birria tacos were alright but the meat seemed to be lacking flavor. We also ordered the nachos which were a little too dry for my liking. I wish there would have been some type dressing or cheese on top as there was a huge pile of chips. The machete seemed like a unique idea however it felt soggy as the wrap didn't seem crispy or warm. I will say, they did have a great variety of hot sauce which I definitely appreciated.

Good, but not great street tacos. Nothing that I had was bad by any means, but relatively speaking there was a lack of content (specifically meat) and the flavors were about par for what you'd expect. What did stand out and was above average was the queso dip - would make this a must if you're going to visit! I would like to come back to try the machete personally, although more so because of its unique largesse than maybe anything else... TL;DR tacos are good enough but won't wow!

The machete the size of the food tray and had to get a street taco as a chaser if you know what I mean.

I'm up here from Houston, Texas on a business trip. This place is the bomb. The machete was out of this world. The flavor here is very close to what I get from Houston. The service was quick so you don't wait long for tour food. This place has done well and hope it continues so I can stop by again on my next trip up here.

Met a friend here for lunch. Loved it. I ordered one street carnitas taco. So good. Loaded with meat, cilantro, and onions. I also got chips and guacamole. Way too much for one person to eat for lunch but leftover chips are never left over for long. Not a ton of eating space inside but we found a nice booth. Expect longer lines over the lunch hour, both for ordering and picking up orders. The wait is worth it.

I love this place, and the food is on par with a lot of Mexican food in California. Most recently, we went to celebrate a birthday. We go here because they are veggie friendly. We ordered the veggie enchiladas and I got a veggie wet burrito. Everything was delicious. My only complaint would be that things could be a bit saucier...but that's a preference thing and we get salsa on the side for it. We also got chips and guac -- delicious as well! I will say that the portions, especially the burrito are VERY generous. I think I should have shared it! It was pretty buzzy, which was great to see given the depths of winter we were in. Go here!!

It's a bit whitewashed and leans more Cal-Mex than anything you'd find in Mexico, but I'm not complaining. I love a good California burrito and asada fries, so this style has its place (especially in Minnesota). Service can be slow. It took us about an hour to get two burritos yesterday and the restaurant didn't look busy. Maybe they were just short staffed. My main issue is the salsa. They limit you to one packet per person, and it's not the slightest bit spicy. And where are the limes? This place desperately needs a salsa bar with real options and some heat. Bump up the salsa selection and stop rationing it, and this would be a solid spot. For now, I'll keep getting this to go and buying my own salsa and limes.

I wanted to really love this place but unfortunately the flavors just weren't there. The restaurant is fun decor and service is friendly and efficient; they do an excellent job. As far as food; The food came promptly, but the flavors were not there. The Brussel sprouts came with a caramelized onion jam which was way too sweet and overpowered all the other flavors. Very disappointing. The shrimp aguachile was extremely soupy with overpowered spice, making it unable to taste the shrimp. The plantain chips were thick and hard, rather tasteless. The arepas were a little more flavorful but really wouldn't recommend any particular one that we tried. The only hit was the black bean empanadas, extremely great flavor, just a hint of spice served with pickle cabbage. Yum. We should just have had four orders of those.

Service was cold and perfunctory. We sat at the bar on this Sunday evening in August, and the female server was decidedly corporate, casting humanity aside for a robotic affect, half listening and half uninterested.
