Intergalactic Culinary Log, Entry #5741-Omega Coordinates: Earth Sector - Dining Unit Designation: [REDACTED FOR SECURITY PROTOCOLS] Mission Objective: Investigate terrestrial rumors of "giant breakfast burrito" anomalies reported to induce rapid satiation and emotional satisfaction. Upon penetration of outer shell, immediate activation of flavor-receptors occurred. Chorizo compound: rich in spice particles and thermal resonance. Ovum fragments (designation: "scrambled eggs") offered a stabilizing fluff-matrix for flavor diffusion. Gastro-Sensory Results: Nutrient density was overwhelming. Internal containment field (stomach) reached max capacity in record time. Flavor levels peaked in quadrant three of palate map. Satisfaction modules achieved full calibration. Environmental Scan: Dining enclosure was impeccably sanitized--no foreign debris detected. Ambience was calibrated to "cozy-mode": soft photonic glow, minimal noise interference, temperature regulation near perfect for humanoid comfort ranges. Service Units: Displayed high-efficiency protocols and above-average warmth output. Communication was smooth, non-hostile, and emotionally supportive. Conclusion: A rare find. Compact sustenance unit packed with interdimensional flavor density. Highly effective for energy recharge, morale boost, and cross-species diplomacy. Status: Returning for second ingestion cycle. read more

This is not the first bad experience but we keep returning , hoping things will improve. Essentially shutting down an hour before closing. Bathrooms with out of order signs. Manager rushing to clean up and not friendly like we were an inconvenience and in the way . Beverage station broken down. Positive note.-food was tasty after a longer than usual wait. Felt rushed to leave. read more

I normally love taco joint but this location seems to have gone downhill. The queso was very watery and our meat had no flavor in the tacos. I think the value isn't what it used to be. The chips and queso is $8 and if you go to a sit down Mexican restaurant it's bigger for the same price and better quality. The jalapeno ranch here is incredible. read more

I love Taco Joint and usually go to one of their other locations, but I was in the area of this particular store so I stopped in to grab a couple tacos. Walking in there is an ambiance to the place. It's cool and casual. It's small in size, but big on personality. When it was my turn to order I stepped up to the counter and the woman at the counter said, "You Ready?" No greeting whatsoever, just cold process. Even a little amount of friendliness would have raised this up to a 4 or 5 star review. I ordered the fajita shrimp tacos, and they were 5-star all the way! read more

Taco Joint - Luther location in Preston Center. - Tex-Mex Near Me - Dallas, Texas

Taco Joint is more like Profit Joint. Ordered a tortilla soup and a full order of Nachos. The guacamole for the nachos was as small as a jalapeno (see picture). When I politely asked for more guacamole, the mid-40s gentlemen (Perhaps assistant manager?) pointed to the cash register and said 'why don't you go get some by ordering there.'. The portions continue to shrink as the rude and unsupportive staff have reached new levels of combativeness. Absolutely ridiculous portions AND customer service. Embarrassing read more

Nice neighborhood spot with great food. Always great to grab and go. Especially the breakfast taco

Terrible service, the girl who took my order was too pissed to be there. Miserable. I got my order and asked if there was salsa in my bag, (same girl)"you can get it over there" and pointed to the counter behind me, which was regular tomato salsa that tasted like ketchup and green salsa that wasn't any better, they had some jalapeno ranch but I didn't bother with it. I drove home, so excited to eat my tacos and it was such a disappointment. I ordered the beef fajita taco plate. I got a small scoop of beans and rice...whatever. The worst part was they used flour tortillas! She never asked what kind of tortillas I wanted! AND the meat had no flavor or seasoning. Overall l, will never go there again. Wasted $76 dollars on meals that my family will not even like. I'll stick to the authentic taco shops. read more

Taco Joint in Addison (14988-C Preston Rd, Dallas, TX 75254, 214-238-6413) Just opened today, 13 Sep 22. One word, WOW!!! Was headed to another restaurant for chicken strips when they caught my eye. I'm so glad they did. I had the 3 Ground Sirloin Taco Combo. Come hungry as they are huge. I chose to get them crispy. Very flavorful with plenty of meat and veggies. The combo came with a side of refried beans and rice. First class. One can tell they are NOT just an afterthought. Every bit as delicious as the tacos. Warning, they are addictive (in a good way). I also tried the chips and queso. Again, a major winner. The restaurant is bright, clean, and inviting. Felt welcome from the moment I walked through the door. Took me a while to open as they have a huge selection of options. They also offer Beer, Margaritas, and Wine. IMNSHO the tacos are better than any in the area. You simply have to drop by and give them a try. Prices are perfect for the tremendous quality. I will be a frequent customer. The Taco Joint is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM until 9:00 PM. Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 AM until 9:00 PM. read more

Enjoyed the food. Fun and easy. I ordered to go so can't speak for the service. But will come back once I come back to Dallas.

I've gone to this location maybe 100 times. The food is pretty alright, but the customer service is... surprising. The folks who work the cash register seem angry. They never smile. They often don't even say hello and just glare at you angrily while they wait for you to give them your order. Then, they grumpily ask if that "is that all" repeatedly until you've finished giving them your whole order. Reminds me of a McDonald's in the hood. The meanest looking ones are the young ladies who work the cash register. To be honest, I am kind of scared of them. Every time I approach them to order I see a look of pure hatred in their eyes. I always watch very closely to make sure no one spits in my food. As mean as these people are, they might just do so. I am from Southern Texas where restaurant workers and retail workers smile and say hello to their customers. Retail workers in Dallas are generally a bit less polite but so far, none i have encountered are mean like these folks. I sincerely hope they uncover why they are so hateful and work on themselves so that they can lead a happier life, because none of them seem happy. read more

I order half order nacho today, why was the guacamole Dark as in days old dark green. I tried reaching out to the restaurant to speak manamgnet, but the calls go to some type of voicemail where you can't leave a message. Great place for breakfast tacos. Love the chalupas too. Quick and efficient. Lots of parking. read more

I popped in for breakfast to go after church on a recent trip to Dallas. Parking was easy, and the interior was nostalgic and inviting, almost like something from old Austin. The staff was friendly in taking my order, and the food came out quickly. A choice of three different salsas in always a nice option. I went with the gordo burrito, adding onions, and it was a very solid take on my go-to breakfast staple. My friend went with breakfast tacos. She couldn't have been happier, citing great tasting ingredients and the perfect mix and size of bacon in the taco. None of the salsas were inspiring, but the food was tasty and extremely filling. I will definitely come back to this neat joint. read more

The wait was too long at Yolk, so we came here. Glad we did! The food was delicious and very reasonably priced and nice sized portions. I highly recommend the Great Gordo. I've picked up to-go many times but have not written a review. This location makes the best breakfast burritos in the area. Although there are a few of these restaurants in Dallas, this location's authentic taste is best. You can tell by the line of cars outside picking up to-go orders. The inside is normally full during breakfast time. We usually get the chorizo, egg, bean burrito, pick up the assortment of salsa verde and other sauces. read more

Here from out of town so my review might be skewed since everything is more expensive in my hometown... Good amount of meat for the price. I got the spicy pork and brisket tacos. Really good taste. The spicy pork was a bit spicy but I liked it. Friend had breakfast tacos and they had a lot of different ingredients in them which was good. All in all I'd definitely go back! read more

Reall good food. Not as heavy as most other Mexican spots, and totally different from Chipotle /Qdoba. I would give the other locations 5 stars, but this location gave me really small portions. The 2 entrees we ordered were the size of sides. For that I'm deducting 2 stars. read more

I found out about this location because my brother and sister-in-law and brought me here. The tacos that they had were amazing and the tacos that I got were equally amazing. The only issue that I have is this location is the parking outside at peak hours and the menu. If you haven't been in this location before, it can be a bit confusing when you're trying to order and the cashier wasn't very helpful with process. There were people waiting in line behind me, I didn't know what to get, so I made a quick decision. Instead of being able to try something new. It seems like it's location is good for you and small groups, but it gets filled up really fast and the parking and traffic situation outside can be a bit hectic. I recommend this place for the food. Even though I had to make a quick decision, I thoroughly enjoyed what I got. I haven't looked to see if there's a menu to review before going to the store, but if there is I would recommend doing so. Otherwise, I recommend this location. read more

Service was great! Food AMAZING!!! Brisket tacos are the best I've had! Also ab big fan of the chicken street tacos! Go try it!

From a hispanic, this will be my authentic review compared to other places I've had. The food was ok, not very good. Tacos were really sweet especially the brisket. When we went and asked why they were so sweet, they said they season with brown sugar... Really confused why they do that. Anyways, tostadas were probably my moms favorite. Probably the only good thing they have there. The price they charge for each taco is kinda ridiculous but I'm not surprised since university park is known for expensive taste. Their employees didn't seem to care that we brought to their attention the food wasn't the best. The atmosphere was pretty okay. I wasn't expecting to be listening to pop 70's while eating tacos. It's like going to the baseball game and hearing screamo music. We seen other people walk in and out so at least they have some business. As for me, I'd have to say it's a no go. read more

Pretty disappointed in the spicy fried chicken taco. See pic...was served with a casual toss of BERY little tomatoes and lettuce. I went to front and asked for me...no apologies. Also - just a little disconcerting, the ice machine doesn't have a top on it. Not great during these times, or any really. On the positive side, my beef fajita taco was great! read more

These guys don't pay attention to what's on their tickets. They add multiple ingredients that aren't requested. Thanks for adding eggs to tacos for someone that has an egg allergy when egg was never selected. When someone requests onions, that doesn't mean add peppers. There's a separate button for that. Get it together. read more

Pretty terrible experience at the Addison location. We'd had delivery from them before and it was alright. It was cold when we got it, but I assumed that was just because it took a little while to get to us. Ate at the restaurant tonight, and somehow pretty much everything was still cold. It's like every ingredient other than the meat is nearly frozen. Had to ask them to heat up the queso and my kids' tacos. They gave us new queso and it was still lukewarm. I would have rather had them just stuck it in a microwave. The loaded queso is actually pretty good, but again probably better to just get it to go so you can heat it up yourself. Chicken fajita taco - cold. Way too much lettuce, tomato, cheese and not that much chicken. Kind of bland and had a couple of grizzly pieces. Brisket tacos - Surprisingly not cold, but probably the worst thing I had there. They literally have no flavor other than sugar. No salt, pepper, spice - nothing. It just tastes like they dipped mediocre brisket in sugar water. Ground beef soft tacos - I think this is maybe the only decent thing I've had on the menu other than the loaded queso. Again, cold, but if you can heat them up they aren't bad. Wife had the fish taco and thought it was edible but not good. She also got a shrimp taco but by that point didn't really feel like even trying it. Overall it felt like a massive waste of money and no one left feeling very good about the experience. For what it is it is overpriced. Basically the same price per taco as Velvet Taco or Torchy's, but both are leaps and bounds ahead of this place (and I don't even think Torchy's is that great). Cost about $50 for 9 tacos and an order of queso. Would have much rather just had Taco Bell for about $30 less. Absolutely will not be back to this place. read more

This is definitely Tex-Mex for sure. I had the brisket taco, ground sirloin taco & chips/queso. The brisket was sweet which i really didn't like so I didn't eat it. The ground sirloin on crispy shell had no flavor, very plain. I think I'm just not a huge fan of Tex-mex food. I will come back to try other tacos to see if they change my mind about the place read more

Best fast Mexican food I've had in Dallas! I is still hard to find someone to make a killer bean and cheese burrito here.

It's just bad. Low quality ingredients. Over priced by the area. I would have rather paid the same out for taco bell and I don't like taco bell. Margarita tased like apple juice. Just a complete fail. Even for a low cost option.
