    Chicken Grilled Burrito Combo (bland)
    Fabian S.

This restaurant was recently remodeled, it's pretty clean and inviting. This is the first time I try it, I ordered the chicken burrito combo, the burrito was so bland that salt and pepper didn't help. The tots were pretty good though. I would never pay $15 again for this, nor would I return, I could have made better food in the kitchen and not wasted a trip or money.

Passing through area on the road trip back from Kansas City to visit friends...Taco John's hit the spot! Lightning fast prepping of the food and the staff was super friendly! I was very pleased with our visit! When in the area again I will find Taco John's!!!! Need one in Oklahoma! Respectfully, Bryan OKC

I drove 30 minutes to get to the nearest Taco John's. I hadn't been since I was a kid and all of a sudden I want a churro. Upon entering, I was greeted by two kids who were eager to help me... and waited patiently while I gawked at the menu. They take your name and let you go have a seat and then bring your food out to you. High class. I got the number six, I think. It was a grilled taco. It had shredded cheese and nacho cheese in a hard shell taco, then a tortilla wrapped around that. It was quite good. The oles came with the meal and I had one just because they were there...yum! They have french fry powdered salt on them that make them irresistible. I tried the sweet tea, was weak on tea and strong on sugar. Bleck. The churro was just as I remember it.... totally worth the drive. They even asked if I wanted it with the meal or after, so it would be hot.

Overall this is a nice Taco John's. It's clean, the employees are great, and the food is good. However, the potato oles where over cooked. Not burnt, but almost chewy. That's not standard for any of the Taco John's I frequent, so I'm hoping it was just an off moment for the fryer. I gotta say that even the worst potato oles are better than no potato oles. :D

A welcome change of pace from taco bell. It's simple really, the potatoe oles are to die for.

Went through the drive thru, ordered a Carnitas Quesadilla Taco combo meal and I asked for the cheese sauce for my potato ole's.

Tim and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. My strawberry daiquiri was precisely what I needed. The drink and food menus presented a diverse array of options, including margaritas, skinny margaritas, beer, specialty drinks, and cocktails. The food menu has a wider range of options and multiple combinations of different food. We started with chips, salsa, and cheese dip, followed by our entrées, which were served with great care . The ambiance was welcoming, and the outdoor patio and catering services added to the appeal. 6508 Mark Way St., Mission, KS Hours: Friday Saturday 11 AM to 10 PM Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 11 AM to 9 PM They do take reservations online

I wouldn't order it twice as we were not fans in comparison to queso we have had at other places. However, the margaritas were delicious and our meals hit the spot. It was a nice stop for dinner in this area.

Your bowl of chips is rarely empty for long (especially for a glutton like me) and meals are delivered hot & ready. It's a big space, and when the place is packed, there is a LOT of service traffic on the floor. Wait times are usually not bad and the tables turn quickly with all of the help happening. The food is good, maybe not great. But it's not far from great and if you ordered something that would be delivered hot, then you can be sure that it will be served VERY hot. A plate of carnitas runs about $16, comes with tortillas, and is served very hot. K Machos makes a sensational traditional carnitas plate, and this is one of those top shelf items to try. If you want a taco salad or standard TexMex plate, then you get the good level. K Machos has a great drink menu and great drink specials. Their house marg runs $10 for the big schooner, or you can get several varieties of fruit in a frozen margarita version. Mango marg, anyone? Service is great, location is great, food is pretty good overall, and the drinks are great. It's definitive worth the stop in Olathe.

And I don't make multiple return visits to restaurants where I don't enjoy the food and the service. The restaurant is tucked away down what appears to be an industrial street where you wouldn't expect to find a sit-down restaurant. Because of this you won't accidentally discover it while you're out on a Saturday afternoon drive. I'm certain the location hurts their business as it has other failed restaurants that have occupied the same space in the past. But if you go to the trouble of finding it, you'll be happy you did. There are a few "Mexican" restaurants in this area of town, but this is a "Tex-Mex" restaurant, which I prefer. I won't go into describing each individual item on the menu, I'll just say the food is solid Tex-Mex. I lived in Houston and San Antonio for a total of 10 years, so I know what Tex-Mex is supposed to taste like. Chapala could definitely hold their own in South Texas. I think you should give it a try.

While many items were ok and overall portion sizes were good, it lacked seasoning, especially the quesadilla. It was simply a tortilla with an underwhelming amount of cheese. Didn't even taste like the tortilla was heated up with any butter. Very bland. The tacos we ordered were ok but the shells reminded me of that from a Taco Bell taco kit almost. Sadly a soft option or corn option was not offered to us. Even though we dined around 1230, the restaurant was empty. Only one other table was occupied with guests. The hostess was even eating while working which didn't make for a very welcoming ambiance.
