    Taco Mexican Pizza
    Jennifer M.

My boyfriend persuaded me to try Taco Villa, a local favorite. I chose the Mexican pizza. It had a big portion of beef between the tortillas, the tortillas were crispy as expected. I added some salsa to the beef which helped the blandness of the meat. Next time I will request it to be topped with jalapeños. This place is a good option for fast food Mexican food, prices are decent. Just need to make sure to add salsa or jalapeños the entrées.

Went in around 1pm on a Friday. The place was not too busy. The nachos were as I had remembered them so many years ago. The sancho was the same. I really like their taco sauce too. I can't wait to come back again. Seems like everyone in our party enjoyed their food.

These are the best fast-food tacos, hands-down. We've been eating here for years and always make an opportunity to stop by Taco Via when we are in town. I could drink their taco sauce by the gallon. Now they sell it in bottles.

This is the Taco Via you expect. I love their sauce. If you enjoy smooth sauce, you'll like it. If you are wanting something like a picante, this is not that. I love the nacho (tostada, sauce, cheddar cheese, with or without jalapeños), but I do wish the jalapeños were whole. These are chopped. Can't help it, I like what I like. I love the enchiladas. I get one beef, one cheese, and eat a little bite of both at the same time. They seem very understaffed, like most restaurants these days. I stood at the counter as I saw my food ready (it took awhile because they were very busy). I was very, very tempted to take 4 steps and grab it from the back counter so that I could eat it while it was hot. But I didn't because they are doing the best that they can. Let's all have patience and extend grace to those who may need it. I couldn't work there and I'm thankful for those who do.

I've been coming here since I was a kid, my order has never changed! It's a great nostalgic place for some tacos or a snack. I always get a taco, a nacho with peppers, two containers of sauce, and a soda with pebble ice.

Taco Via is one of those local spots that most native Kansas Citians grew up eating and a lot of us will make special trips there when the cravings hit us. As soon as the sauce hits our tongues, we enter a rapturous state when eating. Having said that, non-Kansas Citians may think "What the heck?" when eating there for the first time. I liken it to people not from Cincinnati eating that nasty Skyline Chili on spaghetti and wondering how in the world it became famous. Every city has places the locals love and most others wonder if they're high. Taco Via uses a spice on their meat that's unlike other fast food taco joints and the taco sauce is like crack to us. Luckily for newbies, there are tons of choices for food and you should be able to find something good to eat when your significant other drags you there for a sancho!

I've always snubbed my nose at Taco Via but this weekend I attended a birthday party that had rented out their food truck. So I gave it a whirl. It was good. Nothing fancy. Like an upscale Taco Bell. The tacos were good. Just meat, cheese, lettuce, and some taco sauce. They were good sized. I also got a sancho which was basically a soft shell taco. I had one bite of it at the party but then saved it for later when I'd get hungry again. I ate the remainder when I was too drunk to really give a review but at the time it was We also got chips and cheese and that's exactly what it was. In all, I will no longer snub my nose at Taco Via. It's a great drunk food option.

Secondly, when I went home, I was just expecting tacos, and found this wide array of grilled vegetables in my takeout order. Thirdly, several of the tacos were insanely delicious. The server was pretty chill when I was placing my order. And the music in the background was Bad Bunny style, fun stuff.

To start off Rafael, at the front was very funny and made it very comforting. He made conversation with us and was very accommodating. We also received free chips and queso which was my daughter's favorite! The place itself is very calm and just seems like a chill spot to come for a quick eat. I ordered the steak tacos and veggie burrito (which Rafael fixed up for me on regular price with no extra charges for adding fries). We enjoyed our food and had a great time. Everything was delicious and Rafael did a great job on making this a good time for us. I wasn't really a big fan of their horchata but they had other good drinks available. I want to add that I feel like we started receiving special treatment because they realized we were yelpies so I don't know how service is on a regular day. Altogether, I'll be coming back here again!

The service was okay! Nothing super special but they answered questions and were helpful at the counter. This was our first time here so we ordered a few things to sample and share amongst ourselves. The first thing we had was the chips and queso, which I thought was a bit expensive at $7.99 but not too bad. The queso was fairly spicy but otherwise nothing special. I usually love queso so it surprised me how neutral I felt toward it! The chips were good, thin and light with a crispy bite to them. We unfortunately didn't get to try the salsa, noticing only at the end of our meal that there was a sauce bar near the counter! The birria tacos were also...okay. They were very juicy but not very uniquely flavored compared to everything else we tried. The meat was tender and I loved the texture of the tortilla, but didn't care for the massive handful of cilantro dropped on top of everything on the plate. The dipping liquid (birria sauce?) was alright! It was the same flavor as the tacos themselves so it didn't add much, but it definitely wasn't bad. The "main course" of what we ordered was a combo of soft chicken tacos, rice, and beans. The chicken tacos were unfortunately very cold by the time we got them which was a bit strange, as almost everything else was hot! They tasted good but I'm really not a fan of eating cold chicken, so I passed them off to my friends. The beans were just okay. There's really not much to say about them. The rice also left me disappointed! I typically devour Spanish rice. Not only was it cold, there were also odd, hard grains of rice mixed in. Not enough to get one every bite but enough that the experience of eating it was off-putting. It was also quite bland. Another note: While we were eating, there was this constant loud droning coming from the air conditioner. I'm a MASSIVE fan of air conditioning so I'm grateful it was on in the first place, but that is something they really need to get fixed. Two women seated near us actually got up and walked outside after commenting multiple times about how disturbing the noise was. My experience here was definitely a mixed bag but it leaned toward the positive, so we'll likely try them again! They had several other menu items I'd like to try, including some American fare that I found intriguing.

My build-your-own weekday lunch ($8) included choice of entrée, choice of beans and rice. It was served just ten minutes after I ordered at the table, which gave me time to dig into the complimentary chips and mild (with a little kick), somewhat chunky salsa. The chicken tinga burrito was packed full of moist, white chicken and topped with a very flavorful sauce and cheese. I found the black beans to be pretty good, but the rice was somewhat dry and clumpy. I also noticed two rollup garage doors leading to the covered patio area.
