The food was so-so. My big turnoff was that after placing my order I tried to get a drink and it was nearly out of syrup. I told them so they could replace the bag and I could get my drink. The employee told me that the drink machine was out of order. I said, "Wow, I wish I would have known that before I placed my order." He said, "Well, I guess I could refund you for the drink...(thinks about it for a few seconds)...uh...no, I don't know how to refund it...Oh well, don't worry about it. You ordered a combo so the drink was free anyway." NO IT WAS NOT FREE!!!!! For a lil taco restaurant it's not bad. I got the taco salad. It was tasty. The sauce they put on it is a salsa that is spicy. If u don't like spicy might ask for it on the side. My kids got soft tacos with beef and they all liked them. The supreme burrito looked good. The establishment was clean and so was the bathroom. I think it's better than Taco Bell! Compare this to the other big fast food Mexican chains and it will always come out way ahead. The beef and potato burrito sounds pretty plain, but comes with lettuce, sour cream, and tomato. Their refried beans side tastes more like "real" Mexican restaurant fare than what I would have expected. This place is on a tiny lot so you may choose to park in adjacent lots if you're dining in. They have a drive thru as well. Good use of space in their small dining area and a good assortment of drink options including Boyer's Coffee and some decent tea. The fish tacos are good and come with a lime wedge. Chaos in the kitchen and a little too clear of a view when ordering, so you may want to ignore that bit. read more

I arrived at Taco John's, and placed my order at 12:30 pm. As I was waiting, I noticed 2 men waiting on their food. I talked with one of the gentleman, and asked how long he had been waiting. He replied "a long time". The second gentleman stated "I think they are having a challenge today. I made the statement "It might be helpful if they would stop talking, and work more. I looked outside and could see the drive thru at it's full capacity. No other car could pull into the drive through. As I was watching the drive through, I noticed several cars that were backing up and leaving. I looked up and there was six tickets that they were working on. I checked the clock, I only had 1/2 hour for lunch, it was 12:45 pm. After assessing the situation, and needing to get some food, and get back to work, I asked for my money back. The manager stated she was sorry, but there was not enough staff today. I asked for the owner name and number. She replied "they are aware of the situation". She refused to provide the requested information. As she was processing my refund, I thought, if the owner is aware of the short staffing problem why didn't they address the issue before opening the place. Not only did they inconvenience people today, they lost a lot of money. I've been to this Taco John's several times, sometimes the service is good, and there has been poor service. Today was over the top and not expectable. I think people need to know about the poor service. If you have a short lunch or dinner, I would suggest to choose another restaurant. read more
