Consistantly good affordable food and a friendly wait staff. Been a fan since the all you can eat for $3.00 days.

Full disclosure: I saw a review from 3 hours ago. This individual reported 5 star service 1 star for the food, describing "the whitest taco ever." I had to find out, is there anything whiter than Pete's illegal white burrito? My visit to Taco House was unplanned. I took a $30 Lyft to a doctor's appt across town, and opted for public transport on the return. It took two buses to get to the Wadsworth RTD station where I catch the light rail. At that point, there was some hanger emerging. It is true, the staff is very kind and the service is amazing. Since the food is described as "Colorado Tex-Mex"--that is already a euphemism for white people food. I was curious about the Burrada: this is a burrito with the enchilada sauce on top. I opted for a combo with the famous enchiladas and a taco. Sometimes I get a hankering for a Taco Bell taco in a crunchy shell; I feel that this taco is not whiter than that. Taco House is a Denver staple, I learned from other reviews. There are a lot of loyalists who love the enchiladas. I am not sure if the recipe is the same as the one from the original Casa Bonita; my brothers and I loved them as kids. Cannot beat the price; $11 including the drink! read more

I really enjoyed my stop here. It was lunch time and I've driven past this place for years so I decided to stop. I was met at the counter by a beautiful, bubbly and outgoing young woman named Daniella. She gave me a menu and some advice about what I might enjoy. I placed my order and then checked out the building. I found the place clean and the dedicated parking lot was fantastic. The food was "fast food" type Mexican but it was hot, fresh, well packaged and quite yummy. My only argument with this place was I stood around for 21 minutes waiting for my food. I was really hoping to grab and go but that definitely did not happen. I will surely return and I am glad I stopped in. Thank you, Daniella. read more

This is my experience & opinion about Taco House. I agree with the other comments that the staff have a good disposition. But...How they've stayed in business for so long is one of the true wonders of the world! OMG...I felt like I was eating out of a can... Nothing fancy. Nothing special. Just simple. I ate everything so I wouldn't be hungry later on. Honesty, I wondered if I would keep that food down though. This is not a 5-start restaurant by any means. I felt like I was eating @ a truck stop diner. Ambiance was non-existent. This is NOT true first class Mexican food by any means. I had to ask the bus boy for my check. He was right on it. My waitress was not. So that made her tip much less. I tipped just to tip but I asked myself why I was even leaving a tip! I'm afraid I would get sick if I ever ate this "food" again & would rather die of starvation... read more

I have eaten here several times. Nicole and Tish have always provided great service. These two might be my local favorites! And the food, it is very good. I finally ordered the Burrata. It was well worth the anticipation! read more

What can I say for this place that the food can't tell you !? The food is absolutely delicious and the people who make up the team here are the real 5-star part of the eatery! The Taco House location's in and around central Denver are renowned by the long time locals, all the way back from 1965, when the first one opened. The restaurant of preference is the Wadsworth location. This place and its food are terrific, the service is friendly, they make you feel like family as soon as you walk through the front door. My family and I have been coming here since I was a kid. And they understand that the business means a lot to its patrons. If you haven't already make your way here for their Signature Enchiladas, their amazing Sauces, and delicious combo's, and amazing service !! Much love Yall !!! read more

This was my first time to Taco House! The food is as expected, since most items are only a couple of dollars. I had a soft shell taco and the famous cheese enchiladas. Both were good... do not expect gourmet food here! However, it is a Denver staple and a must try if you are living in the area and want to "try it once". My server was soooo friendly... it really made it a better experience. read more

Taco House - I don't understand what this is. - Mexican Near Me - Lakewood, Colorado

So delicious and great prices! ready fast! love this place! It's a cute little locally owned taco hut!

Since 1958. It is the legend. I refer to this as "Colorado Mex." You either love it or hate it. I have been going regularly, to all locations, my whole life. I was born in 1975. Holidays, birthdays and Mother's Day had me visit. read more

The staff here are absolutely lovely, incredibly sweet, and completely terrified of spices. This was, without a doubt, the whitest taco I have ever consumed. The meat tasted like it was seasoned with ambient room temperature, and the tortilla was aggressively store-bought--pretty sure I heard someone ripping open a mega-pack of Mission flour tortillas in the back. Five stars for the service, zero stars for the culinary cultural erasure. read more

Services good the atmosphere is open and friendly and I'm getting the chili verde with a tortilla and it is delicious. They have specials everyday for $7 I'll have to come back and try one of them read more

Taco House - Waiting for my to go! - Mexican Near Me - Lakewood, Colorado

I have been going to Taco house since 1982. Use to go to the one in Aurora so much they knew our order by heart. Only 3 left. I have been to all 3. Food hasn't changed in all the years but unfortunately pricing has. Of course inflation right. I always order the number 4 & ask to switch the bean tostada with a chili con queso which they are fine. Is it the best no why I give 3 stars but when in the area I go for the memories. Most the time staff is friendly. All could be updated but the prices would go up even more. I wish the had one closer to DIA where I live. I would go more. read more

Cheap food and tasty. No frills for sure but worth the price. Try the number 4 (enchiladas, queso chip, bean chip, and guacamole chip.

It's cheap, fast and hot. I have been coming here 45 years and I do not live close. They are ALWAYS super friendly and the service is impeccable. read more

You are a moron if you expect former Mexican food. It is the Taco House. They have the same recipes and food from 40 years ago. Cheese enchiladas and their tostada plate are musts to try. It reminds me of my childhood. Staff is great...food is always hot and fresh. What more do you want? read more

Always love coming to this place! Wayyyy better enchiladas than the pink tower down the street. Just order the #4 and you should be good! Service is always good! read more

This is my 2nd visit. Classic fast food Mexican. This is one of their 2 locations in Denver. I got a large iced tea with lemon. Free refills. I got 3 Beef tacos with lots of shredded cheese and picante sauce. They have a spicier hot sauce. Well cooked meat, no grease. I also got a guacamole tostada for $2.75 & 2 green chili smothered tamales for $4 each. The wait staff was quick and pleasant to speak with. My order came out correctly. Their menu prices have not increased. Soft music was playing even though several groups of people arrived after I came in. The staff was not flustered. A nice meal for $18.75 + tax & tip. read more

Love this place. I've been eating here since the 80's!!!! Best enchiladas in Denver. Old school food at a great price.

IFKYK! This place is awesome. Growing up in Denver, you grow up going to Taco House. My family and I have been eating at Taco House since the 70's. We always get the the CLASSIC #4, it is hands down the BEST. The cheese, the sauce, the tostada chips covered in queso, beans and guac. Unbeatable and so nostalgic. We also love their chips and salsa. This location is CLEAN! They have a hard working, friendly staff. read more

Great food at really awesome prices. $7 daily specials is amazing especially in this freakin economy. Had a group of 5 and the service from Tish and her support staff was on point. Kept our chips, drinks, and bellies full. Small kind acts like refilling our salsa and chips to take with us, just overall kindness from everyone that's becoming so rare these days. Big windows all around make the place fun to watch the outside world. Came after the rush and couldn't even tell cause everything was so clean!! Will come back every time, especially for their Tuesday 2 for $22 deal. read more

Great food and friendly staff. They have a really yummy cheesy enchilada sauce that goes on burritos.

It was freezing weather yesterday, and the bus was 55 minutes delayed, so I came in here. Immediately, greeted with a very friendly person, next, the waitress, was so awesome. They bring you chips and water if you eat in, and the food is okay, but the service is what I would come back for! My burrito was $4, water $0, so I dropped them a fat tip! read more

First visit at this historic restaurant in Lakewood . Excellent service and friendly staff. I tried a combo plate. Cheese enchiladas were tasty. Grand beef taco and tostada so so. Probably would not order again. Food inexpensive and served quickly. I had sampled the packaged enchilada sauce before Covid-it was quite tasty. Not sure if they still sell it but worth a try if they do. read more

First the staff is super dope. Friendly, helpful, they created a good coffee even with the Rona out there. They salsa was good. Nice spice level. The consistency was different but not bad. The queso with beans at the bottom was a hit. I got need enchiladas my honey got chicken. Both were filled nicely and super yummy. Honey said it was better than he thought it was going to be. DO NOT GO HERE!!! If you think Taco Bell is authentic Mexican food... Then you might enjoy this place, but it's not even half the flavor of Taco Bell. This is by far the worst taco/burrito I've ever had. Paid $6.67 for two small hard shell "chicken" tacos and a child sized bean and cheese burrito. Only stopped here because it says $.93 take out burritos... Clearly it's closer to $3 per infant sized item. Absolutely disgusting taste, salsa was questionable, and the menu is over priced and extremely limited. Honestly how can you claim to be a taco house and only have chicken and beef as your options, neither of which are authentic. Highly disappointed!! Save your time and money and go up the street to Viva Burrito on colfax!!!!! read more
