Taco House in Calhoun, GA, is the most authentic tasting Mexican dining in Georgia. It is a stand alone building with limited parking but customer come and go quickly. They have a Chipotle style pick a bowl, taco, or burrito. You are also welcome to sit down and order off the menu as I did. The smells brought me back to being in Cozumel grabbing a quick taco off the main drag. I ordered the Carne Asada steak and it was out of this world. The sauces they give you were all completely unique. Watch out for the dark brown one because it about knocked me over with the spice. I was in tears although it did taste amazing. We ate here on a Friday around noon. The restaurant was clean and busy. Not many empty tables. It had a nice variety of table sizes available. You sit down and they immediately bring you a nice basket of warm chips and salsa . Delicious. Then you have the option to order something off the menu or go to the quick service line. We opted for quick and we both got a bowl. One with steak and the other chicken. They have a nice variety of fresh toppings. The portion is very generous so bring your appetite. I was in town visiting my sister when I came here for some lunch. It's a fast casual place where you line up while they prepare it in front of you while you choose ingredients then you pay and sit down. I had a beeff taco bowl that was a pretty generous size. Excellent food! We had the option of ordering from their express area or off the menu. We decided to try the menu, assuming it wouldn't take much longer than the express. It did. Service was slow, even though there were only a handful of customers and the servers seemed more interested in chatting with each other than checking on customers. However, the food, when it did come out (about 30 mins) was exceptional. The bottle of salsa served with the chips tasted homemade and was really good. We had the chicken Gorditas for our meals. The chicken was well seasoned and in small pieces, not shredded, canned chicken like some places serve. It was a big serving of food, as well. I love this place! It is my favorite spot to eat in Calhoun. The quality and taste of the food is fresh and delicious. The prices are fair and you get a large amount of food for the price. The staff has always been friendly. They serve alcohol for those who drink, but also have sodas. There is plenty of parking. You can walk in and order your food, then go sit at a table for a server to greet you or order from the table. There are small tables or large ones for groups. Tell the friendly servers exactly what you want on it, picking from a greatest hits of meats, cheeses, veggies, and salsas. Want that in a bowl, on tacos, or (I suppose) in a large cup with a lid? Just ask and ye shall receive. It's quick, and so good nobody has to yell "Welcome to Joes!", or Flo's, or Toe's, or whatever that chain place is called... Recently started working near Calhoun and have been checking out the local restaurants for lunch. Nondescript little place with weird parking but the food and service are really good. These guys make it easy to throw together a vegetarian meal. I have been grabbing a bowl with all the veggies and black beans. They even have tofu, didn't expect that. They also have a little side of guacamole you can ask for but it isn't on the main assembly line. The bowls don't have too much kick so I generally throw some salsa on. The waitress brought over chips and salsa once we sat down, and both salsas were fantastic! My family and I love this place! We eat here about 2 times a month. The staff is always friendly and the owner usually comes out to say hello to us. The food is always fresh and several things can be ordered in line and made right in front of you. Of course, you could sit down and order like normal if you prefer. Eating hot sauce I got thirsty and went looking for my server who was hanging out playing making jokes and small talk behind the bar. They have a pretty standard menu (which is fine to order from, you won't go wrong), but the "fast lane" is the WAY-TO-GO! At the "fast lane", you can order a burrito bowl, 3x Tacos, or Nachos.
