Great gathering place with pool tables and friendly staff. I was seated promptly and started with a drink and was given time to peruse the menu. The chips and salsa arrived and were a great starter with the chips being thicker than average yet crisp. It was a good start. I ordered the Shrimp Ranchero with an order of guacamole. The shrimp dish arrived on a piping hot plate. As I waited for the shrimp to cool enough to eat I finished the salsa and chips. I did have to ask about the guacamole which was very good. I enjoyed the shrimp and the ranchero sauce. It was just spicy enough. The building isn't much to look at from the parking lot but inside it's decorated in a interesting way. Let's start with the smell upon entry. The carpet smells horrible. And then the food, the cheese is the only thing that saved this meal and even then I played around it. The beans had a weird taste almost like a mop water after taste. Rice was just basic rice. The enchiladas were 6/10. Again, the cheese was the star. Bean taco 1.5/10 since the beans are the same used as my side. Only thing I like was the chips and salsa 7/10 and I think that was store bought. Overall 4.5/10. Arrived by walking over from motel 6, the place was recommended by the lady at the front desk when I checked it. Was here for a event at the convention center. The sign said seat yourself so I did and staff was quickly over. I seen pool tables in another room. Dinning room was kinda dark reminds me of a pub feel. . They was families eating in there. Order the grande Pablo burrito with mix of chicken and steak with cheese sauce. Salsa was on the warm side and chips where thicker style. Staff was very friendly, the burrito was great lots of cheese. Watched staff with customers and they look to have regulars because they knew their drinks when they walked in the door, joked around with some. read more

I stopped by for lunch so I couldn't try the margaritas., The chips and salsa were very good and the service was great! I got the chicken tacos and they were good but a little boring. There was cheese and lettuce on it but no special flavor to the chicken. I'm not saying it was not good, just not WOW. The place itself was a bit dark and quiet...not necessarily a bad thing. The place is kind of loud. Here is a beautiful view if you sit by the window. They have a few tv's. It's pretty typical inside. This is more of the Tex-Mex style rather than authentic. I ordered the taco and enchilada lunch combo with retried beans. The food was pretty tasty. Some places don't know how to make beans. These guys made good ones! Yes I know that this is typical Mexican restaurant fare. Yes I know the building is old. That being said the staff are absolutely awesome and they treat me and my family nice no matter how many chips my kids throw on the floor. They also will let you order tacos de asada (mexican tacos) and salsa verde off the menu and it is excellent. I'd also recommend the Enchiladas del Mar and the Mexican Guacamole (avocado, tomato, onion and lime.... yum). These folks are really nice and they are willing to please. It isn't much different than most Mexican restaurants but the food is always good and the staff aims to please. *****Updated***** While the bar is smoky, it has the best bartender in Dalton: Chepe. So even if you don't want dinner at least sit at the bar and meet your nuevo amigo. read more

My wife and I frequently find ourselves locally for work. We always eat here whenever we are in town. As for the review. The place looks like every other Mexican restaurant but that is where the similarities end. The service is amazing. The food is great. The beer is served in a large frosted glass. The price is very reasonable. If you can get past the Elvis statue at the door and the somewhat dated dining area you will have a great time and great food. read more

The worst Mexican food I've had in my life!!! Cheap ingredients and flavorless food. The staff was friendly but I'm very disappointed. I've been to several Mexican restaurants through out Tampa FL where I'm from and this marks the spot in my list as the worst. Save your time and money. Food came out literally 2min after I ordered and I was skeptical right off. Soggy and flavorless with ingredients probably purchased from Walmart. Wife and I stopped in for a late lunch or early dinner, take your choice. The owner/manager was very friendly and as we scanned the menu brought us a pitcher of very cold Dos XX Amber and two ice cold mugs to top it off. We finally decided on the "Special dinner for two" which got us a Chalupa with chili relleno, two beef tacos, spanish rice and refried beans, enchilada, tamale, beef and bean burrito. Whoa !! It's a basic Mexican style place. Just straight-down-the-middle average Mexican food like you'd see off any freeway exit or any strip mall. The quality of the food was fine, but my frustration with the place was that the portions were small. I think they try to save cost by providing a little bit less food than the other places would. I placed three orders and was just a bit surprised at how light the bag was. So I am not complaining about the food, but let's face it, you go to a place like this to get full; it's not a culinary exploration of cultural wonders, etc. It's to get full. And when they cheap out on the portions, it just defeats the purpose of the whole thing. Plus, on top of that, it's a shabby type of place with an associated dive bar and with no visual or aesthetic appeal whatsoever; basically an armpit in an armpit part of town. They probably figure they will never see most of their customers again because they will simply hop back onto I-75 and be gone forever. read more
