We were quickly seated and Tony, our server, came and greeted us. He took our drink orders and we ordered the queso as well as guacamole made by the table. After bringing our drinks and queso (was very quick), he took our orders for main dish. We ordered the Super burrito choosing chicken over beef. He then came to the table with the cart for the guacamole stating that the woman who normally does it was busy making fresh tortillas. Tony was not only very kind and affable, but does he know how to make guacamole! So tasty! Soon our entrees arrived. Piping hot and so delicious. Everything was so good! The service was amazing. The food came out so quick. They fresh make the tortillas in a roll you can watch. The decor is so cute. The area is also super clean. The food was very authentic. The flavors were amazing. They tacos came with great dipping sauce and salsa. The salsa and queso were so good. The food was great, the service was over the top but the lobby was in need of some repairs. The first thing I noticed was that something was covered by plastic sheeting, looked terrible and was an obvious leak of some kind. It did not smell moldy or anything like that so it may have been a recent problem and since I am not local I do not know how long it had been like that. I was seated immediatly although the place was pretty busy. My server came quickly with chips and salsa, took my drink order. She was back quickly and took my meal order. I ordered the chile relleno. This was 2 stuffed peppers covered with your choice of beef or chicken, with rice and salad on the side. I prefer beans over rice when I only get one so I asked if I could get beans instead. With no hesitation her response was "of course". In business I am always looking for a way to say yes and she did that perfectly. My food came so quickly that I hardly ate any chips before it arrived. Sometimes chile rellenos have to much batter. This was thinner than most so it allowed the tase of the pepper and cheese to really pop in your mouth. The chicken on top was a great compliment. One thing that was exceptional was that the stem and seeds had been removed from the pepper. When this isn't done what appears to be a big pepper leaves a lot of waste on the plate. My drink stayed full and I got my bill quickly. I would look to see if the repairs had been made, but certainly would go back. read more

The service is fast and friendly, typically. The place is surprisingly large inside. There is a separate bar to the left when you enter. The dining area is kind of like a maze. When you go to the right there are multiple little nooks of tables. The food is average Mexican cuisine. It's not memorable, but it's not bad. There is a wide variety. All we did was order 2x chips and salsa to go which was over $17 (yes that's correct). The chips were very average and the salsa was horrible, like salty soup. How do you get salsa wrong??? This was our second visit to Las Palmas. The table-side fresh made guacamole is definitely the showcase of this eatery. Fresh ripe ingredients hand mixed to your specifications and served up in a wide dip bowl... Enough to share but a little steep at $10. The combination plates we ordered included a Chile relleno, enchilada and taco, made supreme by adding lettuce, tomato and sour cream. The Chile relleno was not what I was expecting. Rather than a cheese stuffed deep fried pepper I was served a clump on my plate that combined pepper strips, ground beef and some type of red sauce. The waiter informed me that I should have ordered the Poblano Relleno... So now I know. The enchilada and taco both contained the same ground beef...which was a bit bland and weakly seasoned. The enchilada sauce was also very bland and just seemed to lack any of the complex flavors you expect when eating at a Mexican restaurant. The bright side the food wasn't too salty which is a common occurrence when dining Mexican, in our experience. The service was friendly and the sweet tea glasses stayed full. Wednesday night special was $5.99/ combination plates 1-26 which I believe typically run about $9.99. read more

Ok, for this place I heard that Dalton has been getting a big fluctuation of Hispanic people, still, I have to say that I was not expecting a good authentic Mexican place. Yes, they still have club sandwich and burgers or burritos for the more Tex-Mex palate. However, you need to go for the tacos. We had pastor, shrimp, barbacoa, all of them really good. The barbacoa is a mix between Northern Mexico and Jalisco's barbacoa. What can I tell you, not a big fan of queso, but I did agree into ordering one here, I added to it grilled jalapenos and that gave it so much flavor! All I can say was Yumi! I stopped here on my way to Macon. With Mexican restaurants, I have a personal standard that tells me everything about the quality of the food before I eat. If the salsa is pleasant with a slight kick, I know the food will be good. I have to say I was not.disappointed. I had an authentic Mexican steak taco. The food was cold when it was served so only half of it was choked down. The server never checked to see if our food was OK or offered to refill our tea, despite our empty glasses being left on the edge of the table for her to see. When we told her the food and service were unsatisfactory and that we still needed our refills of tea, she complained that she was overworked because she had to wait on tables, clear them, etc.--complaining about having to do the basic job a server does. She could have done a better job if she hadn't spent most of her time talking to the people at two tables on whom she was very attentive--visiting each one repeatedly after the food was served and refilling their drinks multiple times. She stormed off and never returned to our table, still no tea. Someone else told us the manager would speak with us. We waited a while and ended up having to go talk to the manager at the cash register. This was a Monday, so the place was not busy. The manager offered to give us tacos to take home to reheat in the microwave later--YUCK! We've had bad service there before, but this was so bad that we will never go back--and we told the manager that. read more

When they first opened they couldn't be touched in food quality and service but seems over the years that had gone down while their prices continue to go up. They are now charging 14$ for a large cheese dip that is no more than maybe a cup of cheese dip and it came to us luke warm. $3.20 per soda, and my husband was charged 19.99 for three small street tacos w no side, that was a la cart and 3$ for a side of rice which wasn't to bad. I got steak fajitas and they were $19.99 and were just ok, meat had quite a few fatty pieces. So for two people it was $60. Kinda outrageous when across town at Los Reyes and can get this same order for half the cost, the cheese dip there is huge compared to theirs almost double in size. Our waiter acted like he was confused, didn't bring tortillas for the fajitas and didn't come back to bring them for almost 7 minutes. I probably won't go back as I can go to Los Reyes and getting better food for way less and their service is always stellar. Really need to adjust the prices to compete w local places, 14$ for that cheese dip we got served last night was ridiculous. read more

My fiancé and I came for dinner on a Wednesday night. This is our first and last visit here. The restaurant itself is located off walnut avenue next to TJ MAXX and in the Kroger plaza. The inside is ginormous. There's over 30 tables I'm sure easily here. The restaurants splits into 2 sides, on the left when you first approach the hostess stand is the bar. The decor and color is like many other Mexican restaurants with the pale orange color, and many paintings on the wall. I did like that this restaurant was very festive for Halloween. There was decor everywhere inside and even several pumpkins outside in front of their entrance. So the hostess sat me and my fiancé in the back room to the right. The place was pretty crowded for a Wednesday which I was hopeful would mean they had good food. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. Our server is the same person that sat us, and the best way to describe her was flat affect and dull. She never smiled until the end when I think she crack a small one when we asked for the check. I think the worse part of our dinner was the service. She took her time with everything, besides the food which seemed to come out super quick. No complaints there. We sat, and she asked us if we were ready to order which we replied we needed a couple of minutes. The chips and salsa were mediocre. The salsa had a sweet taste to it which was a little strange to me. We ordered the Texas fajitas with steak chicken and shrimp. And also 2 burritos with extra red sauce. The food came fairly quickly as most Mexican restaurants do. My rice for my fajitas were cool, with no flavor and the beans lacked seasoning as well. The fajitas and burritos were decent but we most definitely had better. So our drink situation was a problem the entire time. I had a water and he had a coke and trying to get a refill was horrendous. Our server never seemed to be around, and another server actually came to refill our drinks right when she walked up. We went inside and the place was huge!! We got our menus and we saw a lot of options to eat. The desserts were also amazing! Me and my family will definitely come back to eat some of those tasty tacos again! The service was also great and the waiters were always on the ready to see if you need anything. You don't even have to signal the waiter anything, they just come at the perfect time when you need something. When I ask for some she points to a stack of crayons and paper and goes back to texting. Second, we wait for 15 minutes and our waitress had disappeared and when she finally reappears she says that she had been in a staff meeting. Since when do you hold a 15 minute staff meeting when you have several tables of folks looking around like we were the only ones in the building wondering if the staff had been abducted. Now to the food. The portions were small. We all asked for sour cream and got one of those baby spoon size scoops, rationing I guess. We also got the table side fresh guacamole for a party of six, each of us got a scoop or two apiece. I got the tacos and I waited for a while after everyone else got there food.
