This mexican restaurant is among the best i've had. The fajitas are always delicious. The chips are great and the salsa is so good that it is drinkable. I was literally brought back to my hometown with the flawless rendition of home style Mexican food. Perfectly seasoned. Not overly salty. The rice is just how grandma used to make it. I opted for a seafood platter. I wasn't expecting perfection, but I received a shock and my socks rocked off. Not even so called seafood restaurants come close to what the "Veracruz" dish delivers. So my food was terrible, tasted like chemicals, and just gross...then to top it off my wife asked for a very specific set of instructions for a burrito. She just didn't want the red sauce, because she is highly allergic to it. Then they bring the food to her, as soon as she got home *BOOM* RED SAUCE. awful that teenagers are practically running it. For Summerville Ga, good Mexican food. My grand burrito looked like a mess, but tasted good. The speed in which they brought the food out was pretty impressive. The staff was terrific and helpful. Something was missed in our group and they fixed it so quickly. On the downside, I had a margarita and I don't think it had alcohol. read more

Closing time was 9p on a THURSDAY, which is payday for many. We arrived before 8:30, thinking that "Mexican comes out quick, so it won't he hard on the staff to serve us close to closing". I honestly hated being the closing staff in a restaurant and have folks walk in for full service 5 minutes before closing. That holds everyone up. We ordered our food, which was standard Mexican, nothing fancy or over the top. The "refried beans" were actually just soupy pinto beans. They were not even mashed up hardly at all. The beef and cheese dip had so much black pepper in it, that it looked like something you'd stain a concrete floor with to make a pretty pattern. It was inedible. Once our food arrived, and it DID come quickly, we never saw our server again. At 9pm we are looking for our check, and I wanted some dessert to go, depending on what they had. Most desserts don't require cooking, and I was gonna be considerate of that. I had to look for the server. After waving him down, he asks if we want the check. Nothing about our empty glasses, refills, to go boxes, or the untouched beef and cheese dip... and I said I'd like to order a dessert. He said, "Ohhhh sorry, we closed now". I said, "dessert doesn't usually require cooking, even the fried ice cream isn't really fried". He disappears. I think he's gone to get a menu. Finally, he returns with a fried ice cream, plated up, and SMOTHERED in Hershey's syrup. 1. I didn't ASK for fried ice cream. I asked for the menu to CHOOSE a dessert. 2. If I DID decide on fried ice cream, I would have asked very specifically to leave the Hershey's syrup off and substitute honey and cinnamon sugar. I hate chocolate!!! I might have wanted Flan or something else. But he never asked. My friend offered to take the presumed dessert choice so it wouldn't be wasted and so I could order what I wanted. Guess what... they were conveniently OUT of ice cream now. To be honest, I was a bit upset. Mainly, because I was paying for a meal, had poor service, and I didn't get the chance to have anything for dessert. Oh but bet... that damn fried ice cream was on my check!!!! The server was GONE. And the cashier conveniently spoke little English when I tried to have the dip and the ice cream (something I didn't even order) removed from the bill. Won't be back, for sure!!! read more

Amazing food. So MANY choices! This restaurant has so many authentic choices! Things you will not find in a typical "cleaned up for American tastes" menu. Large portions and SO FRIGGIN GOOD! and easy on the wallet. Wish I had this restaurant in my area. As for the bad review from Roscoe M....this restaurant actually does cook the food from start. Refried beans are homemade and since you admitted coming at closing they probably did the best they could. Also the menu desserts they have...do require cooking the waiter probably gave you the one dessert they had that didn't require cooking. Also, when you said you didn't see him....he was probably cleaning the restaurant. The longer you stay there and expect the staff to be by your side....the longer it takes for them to clean and go home. Dude probably had kids at home. Ease up. I love this place. read more

Who would have guessed that such quality food would be found in Summerville, GA?? El Pueblito is located in a very convenient place along Highway 27 with a big parking lot, and easy entry. I will explain the single reason for the missing fifth star, before getting to the ravings. The building itself is old, and can use a major upgrade/remodel, along with the parking lot which (though good sized with plenty of parking spaces) is pretty run down and full of potholes. That said, the inside is as clean as it can be, and the service and food are a very pleasant surprise! The staff is attentive and friendly. I had the Pecuna Relleno, and although I am not sure of the literal translation, the dish presented is a grilled chicken breast fillet, which was marinated in traditional latin flavors and grilled to perfection, served with perfectly grilled fresh zucchini and mushrooms, and topped with queso blanco. The sides are mexican style rice and refried beans which are very traditional. I would personally have liked a little more spice (and I am sure they would have added some if I had asked), but the flavor profiles were spot-on, and the dish was extremely well-seasoned for the American palate. This is well-worth planning a trip through Summerville, GA at lunch- or dinner-time! read more

normally this has been-great place to eat but seems they are losing their good cooks, me and my wife ate there for lunch, man I swear they dumped the whole bottle of salt on the food, could not even eat the food so salty, thought it was maybe a mistake, so we ask the manger to get another plate and they refused then I noticed two other families get and refuse to pay for their food and walk out so I joined them. Maybe if they hire back their old cooks I might return but now I go to Tor taco a mile down the road, little higher price but food has been good. read more

I hate updating reviews for restaurants that I once highly rated, but they've seriously lost their touch. The service is still good, but the food, oh my God, the food - the last order I got looked like something my dog would regurgitate. It was so sloppy and soupy. Who wants soup for nachos? I know that I don't. They really need to invest in a strainer for their meats. Now folks, if this had just happened once I wouldn't have felt the need to edit my review, but this has happened the last 3 times we've eaten there. EP isn't a cheap place to eat, so you'd expect the food to at least be presentable and have some flavor. In comparison to Tortaco, I'd rather make the extra effort to drive to Trion. read more

One of my children, who doesn't love trying new restaurants, asked if we could come back! We shared a few of their platters, which was a fun way to sample the food! The building is old and ran down. The only reason the place is not condemned is because its Summerville and it one of few restaurants. The staff was not attentive nor did they seem to carry a great attitude. The food was decentt but after living in San Diego while serving in the military the food was less than adequate. I would not recommend to anyone nor will I ever return. read more

Don't order a margarita here! What you end up getting is a Cayman Jack margarita flavored malt beverage. My margarita came out looking like a sprite and I asked the waiter what it was and he said that they do not serve tequila here and had to give me this... this is not a margarita! I was mad that the waiter did not warn me that I would not get a regular margarita. I sent it back and got a Dos Equis amber beer instead. I ordered a chimichanga that was so so and my wife ordered a quesadilla with the poblano hers was so so also. Not terrible food, but not GREAT either. Two stars was earned for the impeccable bathrooms. Needless to say, when I paid for my bill the cashier asked if everything was okay and I said it was so so. He just chuckled and told me have a good day with no reqard to my comment. Needless to say, I will not be back at this Mexican restaurant. read more
