We ordered take out and arrived when we were told the food would be ready. It was just coming out of the kitchen when we arrived, so the timing was great. The service was friendly. The food was packaged as typical for Mexican take out with all dishes in foil containers and crimped on lids. The food stayed hot on the short drive. The Chili Colorado was nicely spicy with a decent amount of meat. The beans and rice were nothing special but certainly fine. The carne asada fajitas had good flavor and enough meat to balance the onions, etc. Another dining partner tried a steak torta and was very happy with it. The bread was fresh and held up well to the sandwich components. The chicken enchiladas were also very flavorful. The provided salsa was smooth without heat. I prefer a chunkier salsa with some heat, so this was disappointing. Overall, this was a decent meal for a decent price.

The guac with jalapeño followed the same lead: super spicy and packed with flavor, no shrinking violet of a dip. The fiesta salad topped with a little of that spicy guac was genuinely one of the freshest, most flavorful dishes I've had at a Mexican restaurant, period. And the tacos were understated but sublime, letting the flavors do the talking instead of piling on unnecessary extras. If you're passing through Dalton, get off the highway for this one. It's earned a spot on my must-stop list.

It was my first time coming all the way out here and I have to say, this is one of the best Mexican food restaurants (if not the best) I've ever been to in the area. I ordered the Beef Chimichangas and it was absolutely delicious. Huge portion sizes, every side was tasty, and the vegetables tasted fresh too. The dish overall was flavorful and savory. The sides were wonderful, crunchy, and fresh. I can't complain really. The menu prices were affordable, which I really liked. And they were generous with the sauce on top! Service was great, they did a pretty good job taking care of us since we had a huge party of people for the birthday. They were attentive, helpful, and funny. I'm so happy to say that I wasn't let down or disappointed in the slightest. I'm not sure when I'll be back around Dalton, but I would definitely come here because I know I'll be eating good. My experience was so memorable, thank you!

From hand-painted calaveras to bright parrots and desert scenes, the décor alone is worth the visit. It's like dining inside a fiesta mural! But the real highlight? My order came out so fast that I barely had time to admire all the painted chairs (but don't worry, I still did). The food tasted authentic, comforting, and full of the same energy that fills the room. Between the quick service, delicious food, and the atmosphere that practically dances around you, El Charro Bar is a must-stop if you want great Mexican food served with a side of pure joy.

I ordered the Carne Asada, which is usually my "go to" when I eat at a mexican restaurant. Wait time wasn't so bad. The chips and salsa were good too, the tortilla chips were crunchy and salsa was flavorful. But unfortunately, my Carne Asada fell flat. I asked the beef to be cooked at medium but the beef was tough and overcooked. I was surprised at how dry it was. There were some pieces of the beef that were decent, but overall just too overcooked and dry for me. It was pretty disappointing actually for my first time here. Service was great, they were attentive and checked up on us from time to time. I just felt like the Carne Asada price at $17.99 did not correlate with the quality of meat at all. The other sides were good, like the avocado, beans and rice. And the overall portion size was great too. But for the dish as a whole, I can't justify the price for that. I've been to other mexican restaurants in the area with better Carne Asada that I'd choose in a heartbeat. Despite that experience, I'd come back here but I'd definitely order something else.

It is a really small place but there are a lot of tables, they stack them in and squeeze between them to get to you. They put me in a booth that was not blocked so it didn't really bother me. I had a combo plate with a taco, chili relleno, enchilada, tamale and a chalupa. I find chalupas really awkward to eat so I asked if I could swap it for another taco and they did let me. Some of my food came right away, one taco and the enchilada. I have seen this before at mexican restaurants but I really don't like it. I prefer all my food at once. The taco and enchilada were nothing to write home about but not bad. when they were gone the rest of my meal came. The Chile Relleno was very good, a huge poblano overflowing with cheese. The tamale was covered and filled with shredded chicken. I was expecting ground beef so this was a good suprise. I could not finish all the food and If they brought all my food at once I would have finished the poblano and tamale and left a taco. I eat a lot of Mexican food, this was not super high on my list but it was a decent meal for a reasonable price. The compact feeling when you walk in might be the worst part.
