First time checking this place out for my girls to get their carnitas quota for the week. The reviews looks great and I remembered seeing the place when we got food from around the corner. Nice little outside eating space with 5 tables. We ordered the carnitas plate and an asada burrito supreme. We got home and plated it up. The carnitas had a really good taste but was a little greasy. The beans and rice were both really good. The asada burrito was good but not a lot of meat. The staff was friendly and wore masks. I love a hole in the wall Mexican food spot, and this taco truck did not disappoint! I've been here a few times, and tried a few different dishes. Everything was good, but there are a couple things to note. First, they cook onions in their carne asada. So say you ask for no onions on your taco, they won't put any raw, chopped onions on top. But there will probably be at least one or two grilled onions, per taco, in the meat. I like it, but my hubby hates onions! So he skips the carne asada. (He recommends the carnitas!) We also had to drive back once after getting home only to realize our order was wrong. It happens, but it's a bummer when it does. I also wish the menus were more descriptive of what comes in the different dishes (the burritos, especially). GREAT tacos! Luckily this truck is right around the corner from my house so the tacos were easily transported and still hot by the time I got home. My boyfriend and I ordered 12 tacos (two of each of the meats aside from lengua). Definitely recommend! I went around 7pm and they were still pretty busy. Salsas were great as well. Also, when I stumbled across a taco truck adjacent to the eastmoreland golf course and reed college I was as skeptical as much as I'm a part time keto bro who crushes claws on the reg. But I must say, this place blew me away. The lengua and cabeza tacos tasted as though they had just butchered the cow in the parking lot and marinated it for 3 days in the 5 star hotel in flavor town. These were perfect tacos, I could eat these all day every day. And give. That this place is such a bargain I opted to grab the torta Cubana as well. I had no idea of what was inside when I ordered, but oh boy was it a pleasant surprise. It's like when you search through your couch cushions and find $600 and that rope chain you forgot about. Literally the best tacos in this area. I can't tell you how many other shops try to compare and I always find myself back to craving this one. They're family owned and get your food to you out quick. Their salsa verde and red sauce are on point. Where my mouth is still tingling. And literally they're only $1.40 so a hole meal is basically a little over $5 for me. You can't beat that hustle. Located in a rather nondescript parking lot in a light industrial corner of the Brooklyn neighborhood, Taco Express is straightforward Mexican staples served quickly by friendly employees. Tacos are only $1.25 a piece. They're a little small but for that price they're still a great bargain. The tortillas taste fresh and they're a little thick with a nice bite to them. There are plenty of fillings to choose from, and I'll personally vouch for their pastor, carnitas and lengua. Topped with onion and cilantro, they're pretty much the ideal street taco. Of course they've got burritos and other Mexican staples, and it seems that their breakfast menu is extensive and served at any time. There's plenty of picnic tables and outdoor seating, but I don't remember seeing anything covered. It's perfectly pleasant on a nice day, but if the weather is crappy I'd recommend getting it to go. read more
