At 5:30pm I phoned in an order for beef enchiladas with rice and beans. They had it ready when I arrived about 10 minutes later. The food was piping hot and there was plenty of it. In fact, I made two good meals off of the one enchilada plate. The beef wasn't ground meat, it was something like shredded flank steak. Very nice. The price was more than reasonable for the quality and portion. I took it home to eat, so the ambiance was perfect. read more

Spent the night at a friend's house and we were looking for late night food. We went to this establishment with unknown expectations we ordered through the drive through and it was about a 30 minute wait for our food, the taste was alright the asada didn't have much to it but cook ok. The restaurant itself is a drive thought or walk up and order with outdoor seating, the price was fair for what you get. If you're looking to try something different keep this place in mind to try out. read more

Taco Express - # 8. Two Carne Asada Tacos - Mexican Near Me - Colorado Springs, Colorado

Breakfast burritos are pretty good. I went for a smothered chicken burrito and it was not edible. Hit or miss.

We love TE! They are down the street from us, so we are regulars. The prices are great! Food is consistent and good portion sizes. Our go to's are chili rellenos, breakfast burritos, grilled chicken tacos, bean tostadas, rice and beans, and cheese enchiladas!! Always great customer service too!! read more

Don't ever go to the 2nd drive thru lane!!! They take longer to get your food ready to punish you for using it. When you order 12 rolled tacos and they give you 7 without any cheese. read more

Taco Express - Rolled tacos without cheese. - Mexican Near Me - Colorado Springs, Colorado

I was craving a crunchy taco. That's all I got. It was a good price. The tortilla is probably fresh made and was crunchy, but a bit too thick for me. The meat tasted fine, but was a bit too chewy. I don't think this is a fair review, because they have a big menu. I'm sure there are wonderful items, but I probably won't be back. The service was very friendly, not the fastest. It's drive through or take out only. Come on a warm day and you can sit at one of their outdoor tables. read more

Taco Express - Carnitas and Adobada - Mexican Near Me - Colorado Springs, Colorado

I love this place. They are accommodating, clean, friendly and fast. You don't sacrifice service for speed here. I come here a lot and they never disappoint. They make me come out of my way for their service versus others in their chain. Their quality and care put the taste of their food over that of others of the same chain in the area. I love this location. Absolutely worth the price paid. read more

Taco Express - Two Shrimp Tacos - Mexican Near Me - Colorado Springs, Colorado

This is a cute and convenient little drive-thru. GOOD: Tacos were flavorful and huge! The guacamole and pico are nice touches. MEH: Street tacos should use two tortillas, not just one. With so much filling and wet toppings, these are thin and messy to eat. I can't imagine these tacos travel well. Good flavor and convenience make up for messy eating and I will be back. read more

Taco Express - Two tacos: carnitas (top) and carne asada (bottom), both served with a dollop of guacamole and light pico de gallo. - Mexican Near Me - Colorado Springs, Colorado

I went for lunch the other day b/c I wanted to try more local Mexican food. I ordered the supreme burrito with carñe asada. I was a little confused if I was ordering it right. The lady at the window was super nice and corrected me accordingly. There was very little wait and I was able to get back to work fast. The burrito was great. I need to make adjustments the next time I go back but that's on me. The burrito was too big to finish in one meal. I like that! I also liked that they had drive up windows on both sides so if you have a passenger, they can handle the order if the regular side line is too long. Overall I was very happy with my expert here. The food was great. The price was well within what I expected to pay and the service was very friendly. I'm stoked it's so close to work for me and I will definitely be going back. read more

Alright y'all- last fall I had carne asada fries from the north location and was not impressed (seemed more like hamburger and salsa than authentic carne asada), so hadn't been back since. However, my friend insisted on me trying their breakfast burritos and I'm so glad I did!! The bacon burrito was $7 but they give you a solid amount of everything! I loved both salsas and the red has a kick, which I feel like is sometimes missing in the red salsas. Definitely a great place for breakfast! read more

I've picked up orders from this place while delivering for Doordash at least one or two dozen times, but never tried it myself. This morning I thought I'd give it a try for breakfast, since I had heard good things about their breakfast burritos. The drive thru line was long, but it moved quickly enough. I got the Super Breakfast Burrito for $7.99, with bacon, sausage, eggs, and cheese. I also ordered a churro on the side for $1.99, since I thought the burrito would be reasonably large but not massive. I was wrong. The burrito I was handed was GIGANTIC, at least 10 inches long and absolutely packed with ingredients. They didnt skimp on anything at all. It was delicious, 10/10, especially with the green salsa added on, but almost certainly a caloric nightmare. However, that was balanced out by the fact that I didn't need to eat lunch that day since my breakfast was so filling. I had one bite of the churro and saved the rest for another time, and it tasted average but good. Overall, I highly recommend this little drive thru if you want huge, fat, uncompromisingly meaty and cheesy breakfast burritos for a decent price. read more

Prices have gone up too high! As of February everything is $1.50 more and another 3.95% credit card fee.

Chorizo Breakfast burrito that we waited for 15 minutes for was terrible. Dry and hardly anything in it. Arrived early before opening. Gave the business 5 mins grace period to open. Actually saw the person go outside to their red truck and go inside and lock the door again. We checked the hours 3 times without acknowledgment. Finally knocked on that 3rd time. The guy said they don't open until 9 despite the sign saying 8. He said the door was unlocked and it was not. Then took our order for 1 crappy chorizo burrito more like a tortilla over anything. Should've been a free burrito at that point. Doesn't deserve a job. How hard is it to open a place on time? 8:17 is ridiculous. I was excited to try another local hole in the wall for a burrito, I'll stick to my other few places. read more

Everything I've had here was great. You get what you pay for and the burritos are pretty big. Service is always great and the food is ready quickly. They have all kinds of things on their menu and have something for everyone. read more

Ordered carne asada fries. Food was "ready" in 2 minutes or less which leads me to believe that it was sitting there forever and not made fresh or made too fast. My fries were not cooked all the way through and the meat was fatty and disgusting. I've ordered from here for years and this is hands down the worst I've gotten from you guys. I had a 9 minute drive to get here I (and everyone else) would appreciate fresh, thoroughly cooked food when they had a long long day and just wanna eat something good. I'll be going to the tutt location from now on. read more

Taco Express - #5-beef taco & cheese enchilada - Mexican Near Me - Colorado Springs, Colorado

We have been on vacation for two weeks the food at Taco Express was the best meal we've had all vacation I had the taquitos came with guacamole and cheese on top they were crispy not soggy like at other places my husband had 2 carnitas tacos and a fish taco they came with pick de gallo and salsa he also said they were great. I ended up getting an extra order of the carnitas it was that good The staff works hard as I watched them. They were very busy but they didn't seem to be in any amount of stress The girl who took my order had a smile the whole time, I live out of town or I would be they at least once a week to try something different. read more

This is one of our favorite places for takeout Mexican food! Our family has tried almost everything on the menu over the past several years and absolutely love it all! We do have our constant favorites like the Ground Beef Hard Tacos, the Beef rolled tacos, Ground beef tostadas as well as the Bean Tostadas. And they also have the best (huge) breakfast burritos that come with Bacon but I add sausage as well and it makes it perfect. And, as I said, they're big and filling and go so well with either the green(my favorite) or the red sauce(my wife's favorite). I like the green as it's not as spicy but still has excellent flavor. In addition, the people that work there are the nicest and most helpful with answering questions about the menu and great guidance on what's best. It is a fast food takeout type place so it's better to take home or to the park and eat on a nice day. Cannot go wrong with this place! read more

Best burritos we've found yet. Always really nice and they always give me like... 10 red hot sauces when I ask for extra! Prices are reasonable, but be knowledgeable that they do charge extra for carne asada, which I thought was odd. But... worth it! :) read more

I love this place. Great food and quality at fair prices. Always look forward to a breakfast burrito here.

Just looks like your average taco shop when you drive by, but WOW. Best Mexican food stands in the springs. The give veryyyy generous portions for a very fair price. I love the mixed beef burrito or their(all day!!) breakfast burritos, especially the steak egg and cheese. Their burritos are pretty much all I get, although their carne asada fries are pretty amazing as well. The reason I gave them four stars in for their lack of super friendly staff lol, but also for how pricey any kind of sauce or add on is. Just sour cream will cost you about a $1. Overall though, such amazing quality and speedy service. read more

Hubby and I just didn't feel like cooking tonight. Taco Express is close, good and reasonable. The Carne Asada Chips with Guacamole is usually our go to dish for $6.99. They definitely don't skimp on this dish, great portions. We have also enjoyed the breakfast burritos and beef tacos. Be sure to get the red and green sauce though, as they are both delish. Friendly staff! There may be a line but it will go quicker than you think. read more

We used to be regulars for a breakfast burrito on the weekend but hadn't been in a while. Decided to pick up a burrito while we were out and what a disappointment! First of all the prices were outrageous! $7.50 for a drive-thru burrito? But the real disappointment was that it was almost all potato. We ordered bacon, egg, cheese and potato but it was literally 85% potato. Lesson learned. read more

Love this place. Remind me of so cal divey taco joints I'm a little obsessed with the the Chile relleño burrito (vegetarian).

These bitches ripped me off. They usually give you back your receipt so you can decide if and how much you are tipping but I just went there and they decided to tip THEMSELVES 20% anded money to my purchase without even telling me. The food is mid and their service is even worse. Don't go here. read more

This is my go to place for tacos and breakfast burritos. I have been to two of the locations and both have provided great food. Obviously its just a small drive through so not much ambiance but I don't care much about that. The tacos are relatively large for street style ones and their rolled tacos are really good. I will say I can't comment much on their salsas/chilis as usually I don't feel I need to add it to my food. Even in a line the service has always been timely. Will continue to visit and recommend to others. read more

Fast service, good food. Reasonable price would go back again 100% plus one of the later closing hours for so quick eats its a winwin

I LOVE TACO EXPRESS! I just want to shout it from a mountain top! ...Although being in Colorado Springs is pretty much like doing just that! Anyways, this place is AWESOME. One of my first mexican food finds here in the Springs. I always get a #2 (which for you new-comers that's 2 beef tacos) and an horchata. It's perfect late at night (they are about the only thing still open at 1:30am), and the day after a long night of drinking... if you know what I mean. For those of you just looking for a quick breakfast option other than your typical McDonalds McMuffin, try the breakfast burritos, they are absolutely delicious! And for those of you looking for a quick breakfast option at 3pm in the afternoon, try the breakfast burritos, they are available all day! Don't let the questionable exterior fool you, they focus their energy on making BOMB mexican food, not updating the paint and seating. read more

Solid, quick food. I definitely recommend if you want something cheap and quick. Nothing to write home about but nothing to complain about.

Great tortilla and meat but skimpy on the other ingredients. The burrito had barely any guacamole or sauce. I would get the tacos next time

So I jad the three rolled tacos, a carne asada burrito, and a lengua taco. (Yeah... I was that hungry). So I think I got a decent idea of the overall product of theirs. Solid but due to grub hub showing an 1 1/2hr later my orders barely lukewarm. It was good enough to warrant another shot but I could easily see it gain or lose a star. 4 seemed fair for now. read more

With all these great reviews and four stars I was excited. Perhaps my disappointment was in the fact that I'm a vegetarian, even though beans & rice is ideal for me. Overall, the food was so oily and messy. Expected from fast food, but not really. Tons of tex-mex, etc. that is delicious and not full of fat. I didn't like the flavors at all. My husband got a chicken chimichanga and my son chicken with rice. The chicken was so different looking and tasting. My husband had shredded and seasoned white meat, while my son got what looked like oily, unseasoned, chopped up chicken pieces. I won't be back, ever. read more

Went to this morning to get a breakfast burrito. Cassandra was absolutely amazing. She greeted me with the biggest smile and the biggest good morning. It put me in a great mood to get to work. Had a carnitas taco today. Huge. The carnitas here fit my romantic understanding of what carnitas are supposed to be, which is juicy, crispy and delicious.
