    Chicken enchiladas
    Kyle A.

I had the beef taco meal and chicken enchiladas. The beef taco meal #2, had two fried tacos with a small amount of shredded lettuce and beans and rice. The enchiladas had dark meat chicken and enchilada sauce with American cheese and a small amount of lettuce. The food was okay but for fast food Mexican I think Taco Bell is better. They didn't have iced tea so I didn't get a drink. It's okay food. They gave me lots of green and red hot sauce which was good.

Taco Bell's authentic second cousin once removed. We were the only people in the place that were not at the very least bi-lingual. In fact I'm fairly sure they saw me coming and brought up someone that spoke English to help me out. I mean...am I that obvious? At one point in life I could have made it through that conversation. It's been a while since college Spanish but I can still manage "where are the bathrooms," "I would like a Corona please," "cheese dip" and count to 15. Ok, on second thought, maybe they were right. Bilingual I am not. But wait. The restaurant. Carnitas were awesome, crispy and tasty. So were the giant homemade flour tortillas, YUM. Between that and the cheese quesadilla they made for my kid when there wasn't a kid's menu (thanks guys) we were quickly on our way to 4 stars. Then there were the sides. And...yeah, not so much. The salsa verde was watery and tasteless, the guacamole was the consistency of split pea soup. Unexciting. No traditional salsa to speak of. Alright, 3 stars it is. Side note: My five year old says 'it's almost as good as McDonalds.' which is very very good or very very bad depending on your age group and expectations for lunch. Take it for what it's worth :)

    Beef tostada
    Kerrington K.

We ordered a chorizo torta (added sour cream to it), a beef tostada, and a large horchata. The chorizo torta had a chorizo/egg mixture with lettuce, and guacamole, and I added sour cream for an additional charge. The chorizo with the egg was cooked good, similar to as what I've had in California. Overall the torta was good, and I would order again. The horchata was huge! You could definitely share a large with multiple people. It wasn't the best horchata, as it didn't seem to have any cinnamon in it, but I'm wondering if maybe we got the last of the batch as to it was kind of watery too. Beef tostada had very messy presentation, and was more on the soggy side, wasn't the best but wasn't the worst. Overall though, the prices for what you got was really good.

This location's staff wears no masks. You would think during a pandemic they would, but I guess not. Never going back.

I wish the consome was a bit stronger in flavor, but the birria tacos were a perfect combo of crispy and juicy. Buuuut the lengua tacos were the real star of the show. The lengua was tender, soft, melted in your mouth, and had an amazing flavor profile. Topped with some of their lime and salsa, and it was even better. The dud of the bunch was the carne asada fries. Coming from San Diego, I've had way better carne asada fries, and these were a flop comparatively. It's a large portion size, if you care, but I'd rather spend money on more tacos.

The quesabirria is absolutely phenomenal: crispy, cheesy, dripping with flavor, and paired with rich consommé that makes every bite better than the last. It's usually packed with customers, which should be your first clue that you're in the right place. Just know going in--this is not fast food. The wait times can be long, so don't come here in a hurry. Come hungry, be patient, and trust the process. If you're willing to wait, you'll be rewarded with some seriously delicious tacos that live rent-free in your head afterward. Worth it.

Cute little place on the corner to rest, have a drink and enjoy chips and salsa…read more The chips were crisp and warm. The salsa was tasty and had just the right amount of flavor for my tastes, as I don't like real spicy foods. I am glad I only ordered one breakfast taco, as they were generous in size and ingredients. I enjoyed sitting outside and having a pineapple mimosa and a light breakfast with my daughter. Great service and very reasonably priced too.

We were walking around downtown Colorado Springs and entered a high end kitchen store. The owner…read moresuggested Dos Dos for good Mexican food. The restaurant was close by, clean, somewhat modern and had a nice vibe. We sat and reviewed the menu. We selected the trio of tacos with el pastor and two carne asada. The chips and queso arrived hot and ready to eat, obviously homemade chips. Our waiter suggested the fried plantains with dipping sauce. The chips and plantains were coated with tons of salt. I imagined being livestock arriving at a salt lick. We tried to wipe off the excessive salt. but still could not stomach any more. The Malden sea salt is more powerful and needs less for flavor. I'm not sure the kitchen staff understands that or perhaps they are pushing more drinks. The flakes engulfed the delicious plantains. Again, after trying to remove the excessive salt, we finally taped out. The tacos were overwhelmed by the sauces and one could not taste any meat texture or flavor. I tried to give the waiter my imput as FYI, but was advised the "chef" wants them rolled in salt. I grossly disagree, but I'm just one patron. He was rather dismissive and took pride in telling me "that is my interpretation." If you are highly deficient in your sodium intake, hit Dos Dos to dial it up. The vibe here is chill but the food flavor profiles are off. Obviously, it is just my opinion and the staff does not value any imput, their progagative. If my next blood test is sodium deficient, I'll return to Dos Dos. A real disappointment.
