Tried this location for the first time in several months and the queso with ground beef was excellent. I also tried the street tacos and margaritas. The customer service was pretty good. Excellent actually. I didn't like the street tacos as much as I had hoped. I got the tacos with corn tortillas and they were dry. The restaurant was clean and the staff professional. I like Mexican food because many times it has bold flavors and unfortunately, the queso was the only item with bold flavor the tacos, lacked in that respect. I entered the drive-thru around 11:50 PM, with approximately three to four cars ahead of me. By the time I reached the ordering speaker at 11:59 PM, the rear half of the vehicle in front of me was still blocking the speaker, preventing me from placing my order immediately. When I was finally able to speak, the employee came on the intercom and stated that the restaurant's hours were "6 AM to 1 AM." I replied, "Good, I have an hour because it's 12:00 AM." He then paused and said, "My bad, we close at 12." I explained that I had already been in line for about ten minutes, but he responded, "Unfortunately, we're closed," despite having just taken the order from the car ahead of me. I was denied service even though I entered the drive-thru before closing time, and the employee's tone was dismissive and unprofessional. I ordered six days ago and received the most crispy shell tacos and normally in the past they will be soggy through the drive-through once I got home, crazy thing -- my last two orders were with favor and Grubhub and when I tell you each time I ordered these crispy tacos they were on point, seasoned to perfection, taco shells crispy, freshly cooked cheese, and you can tell when some cheese is freshly made. The burrito was large, soft, fresh and had plenty of well seasoned ground meat and a savory rice in it too. It was very delicious. Ever since Barbie got me to Houston and put this stuff in my mouth, I've been a Cabana boy. Barbie introduced me to Taco Cabana recently and I think it's pretty good. I was surprised at how tasty it was. I don't love it but I certainly don't hate it. The employees here are okay and the heat of the food (a big deal to me, I hate lukewarm stuff) is hit or miss. But really it's a much better chain than it gets credit for when it comes to Tex-Mex food. And as far as TC's go this one is about average, and I'll give it an average rating. read more
