Poblano chicken enchiladas, rice, refried beans.

I love this place. I really need to post more photos. My husband and I go every few weeks. The food is always great. The staff are always so sweet and helpful. I love jamaica and oh my lord the serving literally lasts me days. This place is so small and cute I'd rather not a lot of people go, but it's so good. In the year or so we've been going we have never had a bad experience.

I have been here a few times for breakfast tacos and they are excellent! The flour tortillas appear to be handmade. I also think they make the salsa given the taste. They give a good portion and will customize tacos for a small price. I had a sausage, egg and potato and a bacon, egg and potato taco on more than one occasion. I really can't decide which one was better since they were both very good. The atmosphere of the place is like a diner's, with most of the patrons being older men sitting in booths and drinking coffee. I got my tacos to go. Service was fast and professional. Very courteous wait staff and the host remembered me from the day before. From the outside, it looks like a house, and the sign is down on the ground, so it is easy to miss when going down Highway 6. We treated visiting relatives to their tacos and they loved them as well. I keep forgetting to take a picture of the tacos because they are just that good.

Favorite spot in our area for Mexican cuisine. We love the quaint, family-oriented style atmosphere. Friendly service, meals are served in a timely manner, and the quality of the food is filled with passion. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

A hole in the wall should have good food and service. This one has neither. Wouldn't likely return.

Then I saw a short recommendation (with about a dozen likes) on another neighborhood site, and we decided to try it out. Now we've been there several times, and everything I've tried is outstanding, and the rest of my party wants to keep returning to try new things. And maybe that's especially noteworthy. Usually I go to a place and find something I like, and that's the item I get for that place. But El Fogon is 3 for 3 on perfection so far. Our first trip was a Thursday night and they have the poblano pepper fajita special for 2 on Thursday nights. The salsa is not runny, it's not ketchupy, it's not too mild or too hot -- it just has you enjoying it so much that before you know it you have to ask the waiter to bring more bowls. I won't say anything's super spicy, but it's all super flavorful. I've had the fajitas with beef and bacon. Then I had the Cameron brocheta (bacon wrapped jumbo shrimp with Monterrey jack cheese & jalapeño. The third time, I had ceviche, and they're very generous with the serving size. We're going back tonight -- the fourth time in two weeks -- and I have to try the nachos. And I still haven't had my favorite Mexican plate that I always have everywhere ... Chile relleno. And even their beans and rice are spectacular and better than maybe anywhere else. And I've had the peach margarita each time. It's very nice, though I have another spot I still like better. I always like peach, but I'm tempted to try their blackberry jalapeño margarita, or their watermelon mint. Or the pineapple rita. Or maybe tonight the mango habanero. I regret that it too so long for us to try El Fogon, but now that we've tasted how fabulous it is, we're catching up.

However, the purpose for my excellent recognition of the Pearland Gringo's Restaurant location is because of the generous compassion the staff showed to help me and my family get my husband life-saving help! The person, Mr. Sony, who was working the door, immediately showed incredibly quick thinking to keep the situation calm and to quickly get the ambulance workers over to assist. He did this while showing great professionalism and compassion. The staff love did not stop there. I also want to recognize the store manager, Ms. Alecia, for her going above and beyond as well. The next day, she called me to see how my husband was doing. To me, this was her showing her nature of grace and concern for customers, whom she has never met before!
