Reviews led us to some really good food. My wife enjoyed and barely shared her ground beef enchiladas with rice and refried beans, just kidding she shares too much and somebody's getting fluffy...me. I enjoyed my beef fajita chile relleno with rice and refried beans. Great service. We'll be back for more of these goodies.

Chicken & Pastor Tacos were YUM!

Chewy, store bought tortillas! That's why I can't give your place a better score. Disappointing.

I love that they have the à la carte menu! I got the barbacoa sope and a cup of charro beans, my husband got 4 fajita chicken street tacos, and a side of refried beans & rice, and then we also got the fajita chicken queso flameado which came with tortillas, I've never had queso flameado before there was a lot of grease from the cheese but we didn't care bc the flavor was delicious, it's kinda a mess to eat but that may be user error bc it was our first time ordering one of those haha Also my first time ordering a sope and that was delicious I will come back and get one of those again for sure!

It's an especially great value on Tuesdays, which makes it very easy to order several different meats and try a little bit of everything. The atmosphere is casual and lively, the food comes out fresh, and the tacos pictured were delicious. Pair them with chips, salsa, and a margarita and you have a very solid Taco Tuesday. One important tip: come early on Tuesdays! The restaurant can get packed pretty quickly once the dinner crowd starts arriving, which isn't surprising given the Taco Tuesday special. Getting there earlier makes it much easier to grab a table and enjoy everything before the rush. Great tacos, great value, and a fun neighborhood atmosphere. Definitely one of my go-to Taco Tuesday options in Pearland!

We stopped by at least once every few weeks for lunch, dinner & brunch…read more Service is exceptional. They are attentive even during brunch time on the weekends. If you would like to avoid the rush on Sundays, stop before 11 AM. We arrived at 11AM. They gave us a timer & we waited at the bar. 15 minute wait took only a few minutes. If you are unsure what to order, try out their brunch. My favorite is pozole Verde. It is chicken and it does give you a slight kick in taste. If you are searching for less spice try the carnitas (pork). Their eggs are also relatively calm and easy to handle. I really also enjoy their coffee, café de olla. It is served with an authentic pottery mug. Their soup bowls are also in this same style. Arroz con leche ( creamy rice pudding with cinnamon) is very good. I also love their cute small pasty that looks like a funnel and taste like bunuelos (sweet crunchy rice cake with cinnamon). Great ambience and it feels like you are in a festive place.

Bottom line, plenty of spaces. Side note, they're not all spaced the way you might expect. Walking in, the place was hopping. Much more crowded than the former business. Pretty good sized menu. They serve you the red salsa, but you can ask for the green. The kind that gives you heart burn for hours. Worth it. Both salsa were great, chips were fresh. We ordered house margaritas, and those were also very good. Pricing was average. For food we ordered the parrillada El Malecon. Mixed beef and chicken, with ribs and quail. Here's where things went a little rough. We ordered the "for two" but the entire was still in a " for one" portion. 3 pieces of steak, 3 chicken, one quail 2 rib portions. Definitely seemed off. The manager came by, and we discussed. On THEIR menu, the double portion is only 4 strips of steak, 4 of chicken, still only one quail, and two rib portions. The reasoning we were given is that people don't seem to like the quail. First, nothing about this is "for two." For 45.99 this isn't it. The chicken and beef were good, the quail was not seasoned well unfortunately, and the ribs were over sauced with a cheap syrupy sauce. Overall food was a no. But here's where I also have to give credit. They stuck with their defense, and while we discussed someone brought a plate of chicken and beef. While we weren't going to ask for anything, we do appreciate their thoughtfulness and speedy resolution. Maybe they knew it was coming , or maybe they just jumped ahead to make it work. Either way, we appreciated that effort. Overall, service was great, food was 50/50. Wouldn't do the parrilladas again, but would try other menu items.

It is after not being able to find a good Mexican restaurant here in Canton OH that is prompting me to write this review. Gringo had some of the best Mexican food that I have ever had. The food was always delicious. It was my first time hearing about, and tasting charro beans, and they had the most flavorful taste; and Gringos was never skimpy with the chips and salsa. I like how the chips came in sealed bags to keep the crisp and freshness for to-go-orders. Maybe one day Gringos can expand to Ohio to show us what real Mexican food tastes like (Pappadeaux eventually expanded to Ohio).

This location in Pearland is near a shopping center and has plenty of parking all around. The inside is well decorated and has high ceilings and well-made furniture, plus there is quite a bit of seating so even when it is busy there is a good bit of room. We went shortly before 5pm on a weekend and only had to wait a few minutes to get a table. You can tell by how busy it stays that this is a popular place. I opted for the Plato Soldado (soldier plate) since they were running a Memorial Day/July 4th deal where a small donation was made for every order. It included a steak fajita taco, cheese enchilada, and pork tamale. All were excellent and there was plenty of steak inside. The sides were also great. My wife got the El Dorado (chicken smothered with sauce and other toppings) and really enjoyed hers. We also got some cheese dip and enjoyed plenty of chips, plus they give you some other sauces besides just salsa. All of their prices are quite reasonable and service was very quick, so I get why this place is so popular. Definitely check them out if you are in the Houston area, as they have many locations.
