I used to go to TB many years ago after going to the club, which was one of our go-to places for cheap late-night eats for the munchies. My favorite was their Taco Delight. The past couple of years have gone downhill. The meat doesn't taste as good as I remember it; and more recently, the cost has gone way up. Usually Taco Bravo is the best. I ordered a Super Nachos for me and a Taco Delight for my wife. They now have order numbers so when I grabbed my order I didn't think to check the bag because every time we come here it's on point. Came here after a late night and ordered the Bravo Taco. Quick service, you can eat at the outside tables or get it to go. Prices increased but the tacos are really good, the fresh cheese make the taco. It is an all America Taco with a hard shell. Took it home and the shell was still crispy. Pretty cool spot, be prepared to wait on Thursdays for tacos though. The line does usually move fast though. Add sour ceeam is my go to and since they make it fresh i prefer that. There is little containers of hot sauce which i really like too. This place is a staple here in Campbell. They are open late too which is where all the late night folks come to get their grub on. Lets just get the food out of the way. Not gourmet, not high end, not even Mexican. But it is good for scratching a weird itch in the brain. Lots a salt and fat make it a great way to distract your body from all the booze you drank. Now for the service. I have never been in a drug treatment clinic, but.... Yeah the person making your food is no stranger to jail and they tend to do a great job. No hate for helping people that are trying to get back on track. Don't mess with them or you might find a mop handle up your butt. Respect the staff, and you will get tons of cheese. The building is a odd mix of freezing your ass off, and wondering if the heaters are going to blow while you are under them. Better to go here drunk and get ready to see all kinds of humanity doing humanity stuff. I have seen stabbings, fist fights, PDA, a staffer pull a customer into the order window. Cheap eats since the 80s! Well not as cheap anymore but still love this place. The bean and cheese burrito is giant and fat! Ask for the spicy green sauce and onions. We were a little disappointed with the hard chicken taco with the shredded chicken meat. This is usually very good but this batch was very bland. I didn't recognize any of the employees. Prices have certainly gone up. $5 for the burrito but still a better value versus The Bell. But a super burrito will run you $10. This is the last location remaining so we try to visit it often. My son loves this so we have to go here each time he comes home from college. $20 for 4 items which fed 3 people! What more can you ask for Don't forget Taco Thursday and Tostada Tuesday for the deals for $1.29!! We tried to call the restaurant to let them know that the shredded chicken quality and flavor was really sub-par but the voicemail was full and no one answered. Management needs to be aware of this! I love Taco Bravo. I've loved Taco Bravo since the Taco La Paz days in 1978. They're probably the last American Mexican style fast food taco joint in the Bay Area. Taco Bell is nowhere near the quality or taste of Taco Bravo. It's not even comparable, so don't even dare to put them side by side. If anybody says Taco Bell's cheaper, they're just fooling themselves because their food is skimpy and it's not even cooked in the restaurant. It's pre-cooked and cryovac packaged crap from a factory. Taco Bravo cooks all their food in house, so it's fresh and it's real. Asking for extra cheese at Taco Bravo is not necessary, they put a ton of cheese on their products, almost enough to choke a horse. You definitely get your money's worth. At first glance the prices might seem high until you eat the food, then you realize you're getting a good deal. I've been a loyal customer for 47 years and the only thing that's stopping me from continuing is the fact that I'm moving out of state in August. I'm going to miss this immensely. There's almost every restaurant available in Las Vegas where I'm going, but there's no Taco Bravo. read more

The food hits so hard after a gym session, or a soccer game. I've been going to this restaurant for my entire life, in fact my Father gave out cigars at the Campbell location when I was born. The entire time, they've delivered consistent quality and service the entire time. When someone brings up the GOAT of small-chain, family-owned restaurants, Taco Bravo should always come up. They support their community, local race tracks, and lower income patrons (provided via tostada Tuesday and taco Thursday). If asked to name an iconic staple for the South Bay Area, I will always say "Taco Bravo" (and so will my family). read more

We used to like Taco Bravo for admittedly cheap food. Munchies could be satisfied there for a few bucks. Not having been there since the 2019 plague, we didn't know what if any changes there would be. We're not naive, we knew prices have gone up BUT a $4.00 taco? WTF? And a $4.59 BEAN burrito? WTF? 3 tacos & 1 bean burrito was like $26! Yes the shell was larger than last time and to be fair, there was a handful of cheese! But nothing close to worth $26! You should be able to tell what you're getting into the moment you see the place. It's like a living time capsule from another era. It's not haute cuisine it's not really authentic, but the hotsauce is actually fairly tasty, to be honest. The employees are pretty friendly as well and if they mess up something on your order you usually get it for free. Again if you want bougie this isn't your vibe, if you want a fat burrito that tastes decent and is overloaded with cheese then you've found your nirvana. This isn't exactly a taqueria and it's not a sit down Mexican restaurant, but it is a South Bay institution. It's unique. They're open very late and that's a bonus. The usual for me is hard shell tacos. Great hot sauce. This is the type of place you walk up to the window, place your order, take your bag back to your car and eat it there. They simple don't make places like this anymore. I don't know if they sell t-shirts anymore, but I bought one there once and got lots of people stopping me and happily saying they love Taco Bravo. Moved to Campbell and ofc had to try Taco Bravo. I went 2x in a week for Tostada Tuesday and Taco Thursday. 99 cents!! They have a small parking lot in the back. There's a few tables at the side for dining outside. On Tuesday/Thursday they have different lines: one specially for people ordering tacos or tostadas and another line for other items. They do have other items on the menu like enchiladas and burritos. Definitely don't come here if you're expecting authentic tacos and tostadas b/c you'll be disappointed. The tacos are my favorite and it's definitely topped with a huge amount of cheese. The tacos taste better than Taco Bell but it can be a hit or miss. The tostadas are forgettable but you can give it a try and decide for yourself. Again, it's 99 cents for tostadas on Thursday & 99 cents for tacos on Thursday. Make sure to ask for the hot sauce! Back n late 90's there used to a guy who worked there that used to tell joke and talk trash to customers he was funny and it was the place to go after clubbing in Campbell at 2am there was a line of people looking to get their grub on, tacos were $1 and beef burritos like $3 boy did I get sticker shock! Loads of meat and cheese on every item. This used to be my go to after leaving the bars but in my older days I still crave it. Moving up to 4-stars and removing my "broken Halo" designation after an intriguing visit by chance on Friday. The owner and another family member was there. I discovered what's behind all the problems and price increases. First, 90% of the customers are wonderful, but 10% are abusive, complain wrongly and litter everywhere. I'd wondered if the story was deeper than what we see as customers on the surface and it is. This 10% isn't limited sadly on Taco Thursday or Tostada Tuesday and so people have been abusing the business and making it impossible to keep meat and beans in-stock, particularly the next morning as I've experienced this last year on Wednesday and Friday. The owner was cleaning up messes all over the property and street and so I discovered last Thursday they had to make almost 8,000 tacos. This is why the prices are higher for everything and on-top of that the distributors raised everything during the pandemic and still haven't lowered them. Even if you put less in them, it's quixotic and so I explained how I always get something else on the menu at regular price and try to limit my tacos to 5, which I'm generally sharing. They explained if more people (or even the bad 10%) did this, the place would be spotless, they wouldn't run out of ingredients and moreover the prices would likely be cheaper. They literally run out of food and can't get anymore often for another day, that's how extreme it has gotten. They're starting to not have room to stack taco shell boxes without them breaking on the bottom now, which shows how much folks have been abusing the business. They had a severe labor shortage the last year and have finally gotten to a decent amount of staff again which was why the hours got cut since the pandemic, plus they are learning how to make the food properly now. I asked about rate-limiting Taco Thursday and they said that the bad 10% would make things too terrible to instill a cap. Right before I'd pulled in, some guy tried to buy 20 tacos and demanded the discount price, despite it being Friday afternoon now. So the 10% of you who abuse this business on Thursday since the pandemic are ruining it for everyone. The owners aren't really at fault and they have a loyal dedication that's been severely tested. You can hate me all you want for suggesting this, but if people rate-limited their tacos to 5 a person (who's present, and not for an army to-go) on Thursday, I think we'd see things return to how they were years ago.We might even see lower prices for some things and lets not forget most of the people working here or either quite young, or retired, so they don't deserve the fury of unreasonable customers ordering 40 tacos apiece all day long and screaming at them. So really, these folks are trying hard and getting abused by a minority of customers ruining it for everyone else. You can imagine they have no impetus to open a second location ever again and frankly we should be happy they're still open and trying their best. So the next time you see someone being unreasonable and ordering a huge amount of tacos or tostadas in-front of you, consider explaining they aren't just holding everyone else up, they're why it's too expensive now. They deserve shaming...if not for them the place would still be cheap and open 24/7. Just try asking them if they really are going to eat 20 tacos themselves and my favorite, why they don't order that many any other day? The 90% of us need to take back our taqueria! Let's face it, most of us have been coming probably on average a decade here, or somewhere close. The scurvy 10% shouldn't ruin it for everyone. read more

I ordered a chicken delight taco and a mini nacho with extra cheese sauce. My total was $19.00!! Holly crap!! Almost $20 for a taco and a MINI nacho? Should have run for the boarder after all. This better be some good food! Well ... disappointment awaited My CHICKEN taco delight turned out to be ground beef. Basically this is a hard shell taco filled with meat, sour cream, lettuce and cheese. Then a smear of refried beans on a flour tortilla is wrapped on the crunchy taco. Wrapped in foil and placed in a bag. By the time I went to eat the taco, the crunchy taco shell had turned mushy. Fail. $7.00 ground beef taco?? Seriously? MINI Nacho - granted this was heavy for being a "mini" and I asked for extra cheese sauce yet clearly there wasn't any extra on there. It comes with chips, beans, more ground beef, tomatoes, peppers and shredded cheese. It's a decent portion size but again, way to pricy for what you get. Refried beans are stupid cheep and was the reason for the weight. This was $10.00!! If you're leaving the bar and need some greasy grub to soak up the booze and can't tell the difference from a $10 or a $20 bill then go here. Thursdays 1.29 tacos are reminds me of del taco and other fast food taco places. You get ground beef, lettuce, and a heaping of cheese. This isn't luxury food, it's throw back food, back in our child hood, these were how tacos looked like and tasted (the days before taquerias!) When I was a young kid. The shell is super thin and crunchy. The beef has flavor. Cheese is cheese. The menu has two meat options: chicken and beef. I saw some huge taco salads from other customers. Seating is exterior.
