We came here and bought steak tacos to sneak into the theater. The tacos were great and would come back to eat at the restaurant next time.

I was rather disappointed in this place. We dined in before seeing a movie. Our waitress didn't speak English so we couldn't ask any questions about the menu. There were containers of carrots, cauliflower, and peppers sitting on each table for people to serve themselves. Um... no thanks! Who knows what previous diners have put in there? Not a sanitary way to serve food at a restaurant. They also don't bring chips and salsa to the table. And they don't have ground beef! I have never been to a Mexican restaurant that doesn't have ground beef. I ordered the Tacos Especial, chicken and barbacoa. I definitely didn't like the barbacoa so didn't even eat that taco. And the chicken was just okay but I didn't finish that either. (Side note: Mexican food is my absolute favorite and I have never not finished my meal at any Mexican restaurant I've been to) Overall, not a good experience and we won't be going back. read more

This place is expensive! For an order of 3 chicken tacos with beans, rice and a cup of water my meal was $19. They charge you for cheese and sour cream. My husband and I went yesterday for lunch for the first time since their opening, and we were pretty disappointed. Nothing was wrong, but there are much better taco places in Addison. Also, this is WAY overpriced for average tacos. My husband and I each got a 3 taco combo (3 tacos, rice and beans, drink) and spent over $30. The tacos come with cilantro and onions, but no lime? They weren't bad tacos necessarily, but not worth the $30 we spent. They also charge like $7-8 for a small thing of guac and chips. Ridiculous prices. Addison is saturated with so many taco joints and restaurants and I have tried almost all. My family is huge taco lovers. This place opened in the midst of the Covid quarantine and it was doing very well when they first opened. They opened around May 28th. I remember the line for the drive thru would be all the way to XSport Fitness. Today (June 11), I went around 11:15 am and there was no line. I can only speak about the two tacos we ate, which are the steak and chicken. First of all, the tacos are top notch. Probably one of the best tacos I've had. The steak is extremely tender and juicy and the chicken is the same. Usually chicken in taco places is dry, but these aren't. Even the tortillas are good. I usually prefer flour, but I can handle these corn tortillas. Maybe they're a mix or something, but they're definitely different than others. I tried the horchata, which was really good as well. My only complaint is that they didn't have any seafood options. How do you not have fish or shrimp tacos?! I don't eat pork and there's sooo many pork options, but no seafood, so that's why I'm stuck with just chicken or steak. The restaurants environment is very nice, clean and cute. Staff is welcoming, friendly and patient. The food is ok, I enjoyed the alpastor (seasoned pork) taco definitely will go back for more of those. As for the other meets I wasn't too excited about them. I suggest you go on Tuesday to take advantage of the $.99 tacos and try them all and see what your favorite meat is. The hot salsa needed more texture and spice. Moons ago it used to be a Schlotzsky's Deli (rip..sorely missed beyond words), then skipping a biz or two cuz I can't recall, it was later Nana's Hot Dogs (same family as Gene & Jude's), then it was Firehouse Subs (extremely short-lived) then after a couple years of eye sore vacancy it was finally transformed into the newly Taco Bout It; a locally owned taqueria. They revamped the entire shop & it looks cute, fresh and clean. The best thing to happen to TBI? Drive thru; a godsend during these pandemic times. And yes, they serve some delicious tasty tacos and an impressive selection of meats. In fact, their meat variety is probably the most diverse of all taco joints in the area and what sets them apart. You can have your brain, tripa and lengua and eat it too..They even have Suadero; something I had not seen before. What they're missing: fish. Around 6pm the drive-thru was slammed with 5 cars ahead of me. Seeing how busy it was, a gentleman came from inside to hand cars a menu (and possibly take orders, not sure). I was impressed with how efficient orders were taken; in & out in a reasonable time. Ordered two #1 combo plates (your choice of 3 tacos, rice, beans & drink). Also included: red & green salsa and complimentary pickled carrot slice and jalapeno...nice touch. Tacos were generously filled, no skimping and they didn't miss a beat on my custom toppings. Sour cream is a must have for me..they give you a mini sour cream pouch and you top your own. Love this idea and more than enough for three filling tacos. Tortillas taste homemade..so fresh and sturdy. Tacos don't fall apart. Barbacoa & asada were tender and flavorful but a bit fatty. Pork belly taco was nothing like I expected. In fact, I kept staring at each taco trying to figure out which one it was. Don't expect crispy pork slices..more like shredded meat and tasted like beef. I'd try something different next time. He enjoyed his pastor and carnita. Green salsa had a overwhelming lime presence while the red lacked flavor. They ran out of Menudo on Saturday, but I'll be back to try. This is a small joint that offers a drive through the same as many of the restaurants up and down the Addison St. strip. I ordered a barbacoa burrito dinner with beans and rice and a side of guac and chips through the drive through to take home and paid almost $24!! Come on people this is gouging at its worst. I ordered the same meal a month ago and it was $22 so now they raised their prices? For takeout at any other restaurant including other Mexican restaurants I pay between $10-$15 for a meal. My family and I, a family of 6, consisted of 3 adults and 3 kids were first seated and greeted by a nice young lady. It was a great start to what was a highly anticipated lunch. I don't recall her name, but she took our rather large order with no problems! I was rather impressed that she was able to remember who ordered what, and what to add/take away from certain tacos. 5 out of stars for her as she was great! Very friendly and took care of us for the little short time she did. As far as I knew we were off to a great start, but not for long. After she took our order, I saw her walk out of the establishment accompanied by another coworker. Quite possibly needed to clock out for the day and head home. While waiting, we all figured we'd be served with the usual complimentary sides EVERY dine in Mexican restaurant does. What's that you may ask? It would be pico de Gallo/ Guacamole/salsa and chips. To our surprise that NEVER happened. Upon review of the menu, we found that they charge from $3.25 to $8.00 for it, depending if you want the pico de Gallo or the guacamole. Ridiculous, first strike for us. After our first server left, we were greeted by a young gentleman, who introduced himself as our new server. Made sure we were doing alright and let us know he was there to give us anything we might need. A few minutes pass by after he had introduced himself, a newer but much older lady, came to us with our order. Probably in her late thirties to early forties. The general vibe she gave off made her seem to either be a manager or had family ties to the business. This was our next strike, as we had seen 3 servers now, within 15 minutes. Made it hard to tip as I wanted to tip our original server, but she ended up leaving. Although I did end up tipping 43% of our bill. Never been in the food service industry, but I used to provide services where we'd get tipped. I know what it feels like to provide good service but not get a tip, it sucks! So I always try to tip somewhat well even if the service is bad! I get that people can have bad days. At $2.29 a taco you'd hope they're somewhat decent, not the case. The tortillas are not your regular sized tortilla, they are quite small, probably 3 inches or less in diameter. As well as the tortillas are extremely oily, you can taste oil in every bite. If that's your thing, more power to you! Continuing on, we politely asked our new server if we could get some limes for our food before beginning to eat, as they apparently aren't included with your dish. She ended up coming back out with 1 small lime for 21 tacos and 1 torta. Absolutely ridiculous, it is VERY common to get served 1-2 limes per meal at any other TRUE Mexican restaurant. Didn't even bother to ask her for more, was disappointed to say the least. Both salsa's they ended up providing for the tacos were not even good. It was very watered down and had very little taste. Which is fine for some, specially those who can't handle the heat. But again, at a majority of authentic Mexican restaurants, they provide mild and hot salsa. As well as the meat we tried was very bland tasting. We had carnitas, cecina, steak, and lengua tacos. All 5 of my family members, including I, agreed that the food was below average. It was lacking seasoning and some meats were a lot tougher to chew than others. All in all, I wouldn't recommend nor go back to this establishment. There are a TON of GREAT AUTHENTIC Mexican restaurants nearby, not like this one claims to be, specially in Addison since it has a rather large Hispanic population. They just seemed like penny pinchers to be honest. Small tortillas, no introductory chips and salsa, small to go containers, one lime for 6 people and 21 tacos and a torta. Yeah... this place is NOT it. I did notice that there was not one Latino family eating here nor pulling through the drive thru. Us Latinos know where the real FLAVOR is at. Finally got around and tried this place and I wish I hadn't. The girl who took my order could not pay attention long enough to take my order. I asked for only three tacos in total and two drinks one large horchata and one small. I asked for 1 chorizo taco with everything (cilantro and onions and 2 steak tacos, 1 with everything and 1 with cilantro only for my mother who just so happened was along for the joy ride. I asked to repeat the order and she couldn't, so I repeated the order, when I said please make sure that 1 of the steak tacos has no onions, she said got it; no problem. As she handed the bag over I asked if they had the staple needs for tacos, limes red and green sauce? She replied, it's in the bag. As I pulled over and pulled out the tacos, all 3 tacos had no onions. Remember, I only asked for one without onions and the rest with everything. There were no limes and no green sauce but she must have thought I was worthy enough for one measly red sauce. The steak tacos were bland and chewy not seasoned one bit and was nothing but mostly fat, about 95% of it fat and the chorizo was meh. The horchatas pure sugar water, nothing more nothing less, no flavor at all. This meal was $15.98 In short, there are tons of great Taco places around, look into La Rosita 500 North Ave in Glendale Heights it's about 5 miles from this place, you won't be disappointed!
