I did takeout here and really enjoyed it! I appreciated how many protein options there were. Lengua is always my favorite, and they did a solid job! I got the lengua in a burrito suizo style (smothered in cheese). It's a good classic Mexican spot to check out! Takeout was very easy to pickup and the workers were really helpful. read more

Two Burritos dripped more than a quarter cup of water or watery liquid from the bottom, while holding them upright to eat them. Now we can't convince ourselves to try again in the hopes it was a one-time occurrence. read more

Like every food place, prices have gone up noticibly, and El Burrito is no exception. However the quality of food has remained excellent and tasty. The nachos locos is great, enchiladas are good size and lots of filling, and the creamy jalapeno salsa remains outstanding. read more

Okay so this is really hard to write because I've been going here for years, have brought people here because how great they were, etc. The past few times I've been disappointed because of the quality of steak. Last night we were eating for 3 and got a bunch of steak tacos - no one could eat them because every bite was not steak just straight fat. I kept trying again because I never knew it to be like this but the past 3/4 times have been rough. Used to be my favorite place read more

Great Mexican food that's ready in minutes! This is a small joint that we always stop at when we're at Wrigley. The line can get long, but they move fast (and only have three cooks!). This last visit we got a steak burrito and an order of nachos. The burrito was phenomenal. The nachos weren't the best, the cheese was clumped together only in certain areas and not evenly dispersed. It all hit the spot though. We will continue to eat here when we're in the area. read more

I am 100% Mexican, and have traveled to a few different parts of Mexico numerous times. This place has THE BEST Mexican food I've ever had. The taco meat is tender and not too dry. Not to mention, the portions are insane! If you happen to stop by, I STRONGLY recommend you try their carne asada nachos, or carne asada burrito with french fries. OMG to die! Another thing you MUST try is their horchata...so yummy! The service is also great. I usually go late at night so I always see the same waitress there by herself. Sometimes it is very busy, but she's super sweet and fast. read more

If your looking for good food and good service this is the place to come. I ordered a couple of steak tacos and they made them perfectly. The flavor is fantastic. I have tasted Horchata in not only several states, but in about 20 different restaurants around the Chicagoland area. El Burrito makes the best Horchata that I have tasted. It's not overly milky and doesn't have a massive amount of cinnamon in it. It's perfectly balanced. Great Job El Burrito! read more

Their Horchata is THE BEST I've ever had. I've had many and some are gritty, some are too watery, some are just nasty. This one is fabulous. I had the burrito dinner meal with a HUGE steak burrito with everything, refried beans, and rice. The beans were good and the rice was nothing special. The steak was actual steak but tasted like it had been boiled before or cooked in its own grease. Something was off on the taste. The tortilla and fillings were good and everything seemed fresh but not the BEST I've ever had. Everything cost about $10-$11 bucks. I went at about 12:30ish on a friday afternoon and it wasn't busy but there were several tables inside occupied by patrons. The restaurant was clean and the woman who took my order was friendly. Might try something else in the future. The quest for the best horchata has found its home here, but sadly, the best burrito quest continues. read more

First time dining in and at first I was not impressed with the looks but my dad invited me. Plus my boyfriend said the tacos were amazing when he came. The service has been great so far the waitress is working alone and she seems to handle it very well. I ordered nachos with meat. My son got French fries b chicken tenders. The nachos were amazing very authentic! They had just the right flavors and it was not heavy at all for Mexican food lol. The meat was delicious I like mine cooked all the way n this one was cooked just right with so much juice. My dad said their cal do de Rez is even better. I will for sure be returning to this little joint if I come close to the area it was very good! I'm also getting a flan when I leave they look yummy! read more

This was a great place before! Not sure what happened. Maybe no money, so the food budget suffers. The Carne Asada was so tough, we couldn't cut it with steak knives, where it used to be so tender. I get times are tough right now, but take it off the menu if it can't be done right! When I called to talk to the manager, he just repeated back everything I said. I finally got so frustrated, I hung up. We just won't go back. read more

Arrive at 10:45 on a Tuesday night and the place was empty, I mean completely empty! And the waitress came to me saying that only to go orders were available because short staff issues... Really??!! I'm not eating in my car forget it! Probably good food not enough staff, I'm wonder why?! read more

The al pastor tacos were quite possibly the single greatest thing I have ever eaten in my entire life. It's been weeks and I can still remember the amazing flavor of the pork and perfectly toasted corn tortillas. I cannot wait to eat this again. The burritos are enormous. I wanted to sample a few of their meats, before ordering a big burrito's worth of any one of them. So I got 4 different tacos. Steak was cut into small cubes... most of it was chewy and not that flavorful. Spicy pork was not hot-spicy.. but definitely had an exotic spice of some sort. Tasted like cloves to me.. which is not my cup of tea. Chile relleno was decent.. on the mild side, pepper-wise. But not worth ordering again. Chicken was the sole winner for me. It had both shredded & cut meat in a paprika sauce.. yum ! That will definitely be my burrito of choice, the next time I visit here. And I *will* visit again, especially after reading favorable reviews of their horchatas :-) BTW... the onions & cilantro on the tacos were very fresh & tasty. They made enough of a good impression on me to mention here ! Salsa rocho (red) had a good charred taste with mild to no heat. Salsa verde (green) had an almost-spoiled taste (?!) with moderate heat. The cashier & waitress girls (late night) were also *very* polite. read more

Not good at all. Went there last night for mom's birthday, just keeping it short it could be the worst birthday gift ever. The caldo de camarones didn't had flavored at all, it just tasted like the chili used to make it. The chorizo burrito had way too greasy, the oil literally soaked the tortilla. The asada burrito seen good, until midnight came in and the burrito came out the same way it came in... Probably just was the day but I mean, really? read more

I would have given them five stars in the past but now I would give them zero. The food was actually good until one day we actually sat down to eat we would normally do carry out. But the day we did it was the worst experience Ive had. A cockroach crawled across the table so I called the waitress over and told her. She replied with "you must have had it on your coat and brought it with you" excuse me but No!! Moved the napkin holder and along came another cockroach. Called the health department and they went to inspect they had to inspect it but the owner had already had pest control come by. So they knew something was going on. Besides the fact that we were blamed for the roaches we still had to pay for the meal. read more

This is our usual go-to spot if we're all craving tacos after work. There are a plethora of options to choose from and the servings are huge. I've had many things from here, from their burrito (seriously is the biggest burrito I've seen around), gorditas, enchiladas, flautas, bistec, and a variety of tacos. Most recently I tried their tacos de cecina and they were so good! Corn tortilla with the cecina, cilantro and grilled onions---perfect! The shop is easy to miss because it's set back in a strip mall, so it's hard to see off Lake Street. If you do find it, stop here! It's worth it! The food is always good and the service is always quick and friendly. read more

For a strip mall burrito joint it passes mustard, but it's not a destination type of a place. If you are driving by, or in the area, by all means try it. But don't go too far out of your way. The steak is NOT the best around. Maybe the best on Lake St in Addison, but not worthy of lofty praises some bestow upon it. If you think it's the best, take a fifteen minute ride west to Hacienda de Roselle and try that. Then, come back here and tell me this is benchmark quality (there are better places than Hacienda de Roselle, but I can't think of one in this area). Slightly better than average taco stand fare in big porttions at average prices served by nice people in a place clean enough to pass inspection. That just about sums it up. read more

The food is always consistently excellent. The Carne Asada con Cebolla is only $8.95 on special. Very basic atmosphere, but don't let it fool you. Some of the best Mexican food around at a very reasonable price. They also do a great breakfast burrito, too. read more

Love the food here. The giant steak burrito is my usual go to but all of it is very good for the price. The people that run the place are always generous and helpful if you stay in to eat. Authentic mexican food and environment experience. read more

We wanted tacos and the usual local place was closed, so we thought we'd try a new place. We were in route to a random place we pulled up on yelp but saw this place and stopped instead. Maybe we should have kept driving. They were very nice here but the steak tacos weren't anything to write home about. The meat was dry and in big chunks. I like my tomatoes smaller and they also were in big chunks. The fries weren't what I like but that's a personal preference, not to say that they were bad. Salsa was alright. Next time id check out another location. read more

Fantastic Mexican food! Got a burrito with carne asada and an horchata and it was so yummy. Meat was perfectly cooked and their horchatas are always on point. I don't know where all the negative reviews come from, this is the only place ill get mexican food. their prices are great and they give you huge servings here. i literally will drive from wherever i am to get their food. the steak is always tender and flavorful, plus never any gristle. the nachos are amazing and sometimes i can't finish them all, and i can eat. the horchata is always consistent and yummy. you can even get a chile rellenos taco here! definitely give this place a shot, you won't be sorry. read more

wow what a joke this place is. Absolutely one of the worse places around. the burritos are super small, the steak was dry., and the little amount of cheese they put on turned orange from the grease. I am not sure where these pictures are coming from that show the burrito being as big as the persons hand, so I am guessing he is a small midget jockey, and any burrito would be giant to him. this place sucks ass. read more

Their Steak Ranchero dinner is amazing here. It's spicy, but is definitely a must try! Always fast and friendly service.

this was awful, food was super salted & peppered & made me sick to my stomach. i feel the need to cleanse my body after i throw this food up. tacos were expensive and not worth my money tacos are 2.60 & you can't even use card unless you have more than a 5.00 purchase.
