When we've had a taste for tacos we would try places we haven't been to before in the hope that we would find a place we would want to always return to when we want a taco. We read the Yelp reviews and decided to make the short trek to Wood Dale. We may have found that place in Taco Tuesday. While we enjoy various Mexican menu options, our strategy is to judge whether we want to come back on how they handle their tacos. I had one of their Gringas which can best be described as a very loaded taco. Then my wife and I both had the standard ground beef taco and a fish taco. Everything was well done. I'm not a fan of fish tacos, but the one I had here was really good. Wife said it was the best she's had. The only complaint I might have is that there was so much meat and fixings that they overflowed the shells and my hand was a mess by the time I was done. Now that the tacos passed our initial test, we definitely plan to come back and try some of the more interesting items on the menu. read more

Pros: - big portions, very generous meat on the tacos Cons: - nothing had any flavor. I got three different meats on my tacos and they all tasted exactly the same, like nothing. Didn't enjoy my experience everything I wanted that I ordered was out. I asked the lady what tacos she likes and she said "Cecina & short rib" so what do I do order those tacos... 5 mins go buy and comes out to tell me that she doesn't have any of the meat I wanted. Also they use provolone and mozzarella for their cheese.... Ended up with steak tacos filled with fat. Didn't enjoy and would not come back. Also I was waiting for my food to get cooked and the lady had messed up my order 3 times before she got it right and I ordered in store.. while waiting for the food I could not smell anything cooking. There food has no flavor. If u want good tacos hmu I'll whip them up with ease on my Blackstone and they will be delicious. I recommend getting out of Woodale/Addison area for tacos. read more

Very good, almost addictively so. We went to this place looking for something new. I ordered a gordita, which was originally going to be lomo (ribeye meat) but upon seeing meat on a stick, turning, I immediately changed it to pork. I also got a fish taco, because I wanted fish. My wife got a chicken taco. The gordita was brilliant, with a shatteringly-crisp fried tortillas layered around a mound of lettuce, pork, and ample amounts of cotija cheese. The pork, beans, veggies and cheese were balanced perfectly, and I liked the different textures too. The pork was seasoned perfectly as well. I thought about adding some spicy salsa but didn't want to for fear of muddying the flavors, so I had it as it was. The fish taco had tender avocados on top of it and was fresh all around. I'm not positive what kind of whitefish they used but it was flavorful and moist. I need to ask what those sauces were. They don't have a deep fryer here, so no homemade tortilla chips quite yet. But I was able to sample all three sauces, which were quite pretty good, especially the medium-heat chunky one given at the beginning. Overall, highly recommended! read more

I was craving authentic Mexican food and saw Taco Tuesday on Yelp. My husband and I decided to check it out and were really happy we did! The construction on Irving Park Rd. makes it a little difficult to get in but it's worth it. I had the cecina (marinated thin steak) and chicken tacos. My husband got the same meats but in a gringas (kinda like an open quesadilla). We added sour cream and avocado. We were not a big fan of the horchata, but overall our food with the salsa verde was delicious and affordable!! The owner Edgar and his cook were super nice. Definitely will be coming again! ***UPDATE*** We went again to Taco Tuesday a week later, and was told they switched the horchata to a homemade recipe. It had a wonderful balance of sweet cinnamon and milky texture. The horchata is worth a try! Oh and their fresh, homemade guacamole which is not yet on the published menu is so yummy. Came here based on reviews and hunger. Not impressed in anyway. I had a chicken torta that was mediocre at best. Not a fan of shredded chicken but the hot sauces were decent. My buddy had the al pastor tacos and they didn't look the best. He said it was alright and the pork was fatty. If I was offered the food for free I would eat it but otherwise I would go somewhere else. Sorry Taco Town but it's a no for me. I have now had food here 4 times all with Varing degrees of freshness and taste, every time getting worse then the next. The meat tastes old and greasy when asking for no tomatoes 50% of the time tomatoes are still at it it to my burrito it's just is not that good in fact I daresay chipotle is better than this place. There rice is some of the worst Mexican rice I have ever had. It has hardlyany flavor and it's just orange colored rice. To add insult to injury asking for no tomatoes and looking inside my Barito they have not even chopped tomatoes they have whole tomato slices in the burrito who does that? burrito also has wetness throughout.. sour cream taste water down in everything just taste like there's not a lot of love or care that goes into making it. I went there with a friend on a Monday . The food was very Greasy. I looked around and the place was filthy. The horchata machine was full of dust. The walls had holes in them. The floor looked like it wasn't washed in months. I can't believe the health department would leave a restaurant like this open. After seeing the reviews here on yelp I knew that I needed to try this place. This location is a bit difficult to get to the first time. Once you see the restaurant you just need to go around the block to find parking. This is a small location with no-frills but they have great food. I tried one steak and one chicken taco with cilantro and onion on corn tortilla. Both had good portions and the meat had great flavor. The green salsa also had good flavor and I didn't try the red. Hate to do this because it is so close to home. Went there a few months back. Food quality and flavors were very good. Although you do not get a lot for your money. My biggest issue was with the layout of the small dining area. You walk in straight about 10 to 13 ft. to place your order at the counter. There was no menu board up so you had to look at a little flyer. Once your order is placed, there is no room for you to stand while you wait for your order. Made me uncomfortable. The tables were too large for this small dining area which made it difficult to navigate between tables. Once again, the product is good. They just need to work on the aesthetics a bit. read more

Not overly impressed. Then again I didn't order the tacos everyone raved about. I ordered a steak burrito, rice, and beans. The beans were like soup. Maybe they just have me the juice as I only remember the juice. It was like soup and saturated the burrito as it spread across the plate. The steak had a good taste, but the burrito was hard to eat as it was falling apart because it was saturated in bean juice and poorly wrapped. A little too much lettuce. Overall, a bit over priced at $10.80 for a burrito, rice, beans, and a can of soda. I'll give them 3 stars though for the friendly, prompt service and decent tasting steak. I went here for the first time today, the food is alright. Definitely not very good but it's ok. The meat is very salty, the beans have no taste to them or seasoning, and they put like a whole cut up lime on top of your food. The tacos- were so much loaded with onions and lettuce and cilantro, it took me a good 10 mins to even find where the tacos were underneath all that crap. The boy who was at the front counter who took my order was probably the only good part, he was very very nice. And on another plus side the wait was very short. And the Horchata is great! I wanted some steak tacos and decided to give this place a shot. I ordered a taco dinner to go but was so disappointed. The steak was supper salty! It was just too much .. and I don't have a low tolerance to spices I'm Hispanic. This was so salty I couldn't even go past two bites. I should have taken a hint when the person on the phone wasn't even paying attention to me when I called to make the order. Tortillas burned to a blackened char on the bottom. At least a head of lettuce on top of them. Slice of melted cheese on top of each one. Super chewy, overly salty meat. My god what a mess. The beans were also basically weird tasting soup. Rice has brown pieces of corn that may be 6 months old. Overall, the meat is questionable, and the preparation is just stomach turning. Since moving to the far NW burbs I have been on the hunt for a really good taco de lengua. While I may not have found it near home, I found it near work. The tacos were good and the portions are huge! I ordered pickup for lunch and they got it ready right away. They have a simple menu with very reasonable prices, and were friendly and fast with their service. We got the chips and guacamole, which is made fresh to order, and it was fantastic. The reviews are correct. Taco Tuesday just makes really good tacos. They are authentic and packed full of well-seasoned meat. If you get the taco dinner, the rice and beans are good as well. My wife and I have tried their carne asada tacos. Quality meat, not too much grizzle. Good service. The owner is very nice. And the guacamole is delicious too. I used to really like going to Taco Tuesday. But the last couple visits the food has been really bad I don't know what changed, but the steak they use isn't good at all. I don't think it's even carne asada, or if it is, it's really bad quality meat. The steak is very salty, and mushy, and the only way I could describe it on my last visit was "gross" On one of my last visits, I ordered a steak burrito. As mentioned above, the quality of the meat was just bad. Mushy.. salty.. almost tasted like roasted meat. I thought it was just an off night.. or maybe they mixed up my order and I didn't get steak in my order. I decided to go again recently and had the same issue with the steak. this time it was steak tacos. I got a taco dinner, 2 steak and one carnitas. The steak tacos were mushy and salty again, and the carnitas taco was just "okay" at best. It's a shame, I did like going to Taco Tuesday. But I'm not going to keep going there just to be disappointed and unsatisfied with the food, especially with so many other decent taco places in the area. read more
