I ordered the spicy Joe, the Cali chicken and a Birria taco. The spicy Joe was good, but there wasn't much to it. The crema on the Cali chicken was NOT good. Maybe I'm just not used to crema made from buttermilk?? The Birria was delicious, however I could have done without the giant jalapeños. My boyfriend also ordered Birria tacos, which he enjoyed. The roasted cauliflower taco was way too saughy though, he couldn't even take more than one bite. The service was quick and easy. You just go up, order, pay, and then they bring the food to you. So that's a plus.

The place was pretty empty, but the staff was friendly and welcoming. The food however, was not great. I ordered the tacos, which were pretty bland and flavorless, and the tortillas were old. My brother's dish came out cold, the margaritas didn't have enough kick in them... I would say the only thing we really enjoyed about the restaurant was their homemade hot sauce. Was really hoping to like this place as I love supporting local businesses. Perhaps we just came on our off night, but we definitely did not enjoy our food experience at this location.

The reason for 3 stars instead of 5, is the fact that service was mediocre. After my food was dropped off, my waitress Joselyn did not check in once. When she dropped off the check, she never picked it up. I had to walk to the front to pay for my meal. Great place, but customer service can be improved. I did share my concerns with management. I arrived for an early dinner on a Wednesday late afternoon / early evening. Very impressed with the quality building structure renovation and with the elegant open space interior design, I asked the Host / Server for a table and I was seated and given a copy of the menu. To drink I ordered the Housemade Lemonade. As I waited and examined the menu, I observed the beautiful open space renovation with nice and comfortable furniture and outstanding works of art decorating the restaurant. The server arrived with my drink and a welcoming smile and took my order. For apappetizer I ordered the Chips and Choriqueso. And for my main entry I ordered two Flank Steak and one Pork Carnitas tacos. Two of them Traditional style and one Gringo style. And for dessert the Churrosticks. The iced lemonade was one of the best lemonades I've ever had. Very lemony and the right sweetness. The quality of the Chips and Choriqueso was superb and the tacos were simply delicious. The service was superb. My server came by at the appropriate times to check on me and provide refills for my lemonade. I can't imagine how good the Margaritas must be at this restaurant / bar. I highly recommend this contemporary restaurant / bar for a place to go alone, to relax, or with family and friends to enjoy some quality time together in a clean and tastefully decorated Mexican restaurant located in a chick location.

I decided to give this local restaurant my business for the first time rather than going to a chain restaurant or something further into town. My expectations must've been too high because I was highly disappointed!! The food is far from being good enough to warrant their prices. My food was barely warm. There was very little taco meat (ground beef) given for my taco bowl. Plus it didn't really have much flavor to it. The salsa didn't look or taste like salsa. Instead it reminded me of a tomato sauce. It was just plain gross is how I can describe it. The queso was just a thick glob of mediocre tasting dip. Nothing thrilling at all and lacked taste. For $16.50 plus a $2 tip for one person to eat, I feel like I got ripped off and ticked off!! For the money I could've & should've went to El Torel or Taco Bell even. It's a shame, I really wanted to like this place but didn't. Sorry to be so candid but I seriously could've cooked a far better taco meal at home myself. Again this is just my opinion and experience.

No luxurious building with expensive decorations and furniture. Just a clean, cozy, and comfortable little building with a few tables and chairs, a counter where orders are taken and paid for, and a small kitchen behind where orders are prepared and taken out to your table by one of the servers. When I arrived to the restaurant that is well known in the area for the $1 tacos on Tuesdays, I was impressed by how small it was. The main room where orders are taken and paid for and with a few tables and chairs for customers to seat down and eat, is souranded by large windows where light can come in as well as people can look in from the street and see a very clean restaurant full of people eating and others ordering items to go. There is a second smaller seating area, this one with walls and smaller windows. As I entered the door, there were several signs both on the wall and standing on the floor. There was an enlarged colorful menu on the wall, and a floor sign with the days of operation and special daily menus. Behind the counter a friendly employee greeted me and took my order. To drink I ordered a Mango juice, as an appetizer I ordered 2 Longaniza tacos, as the main course I ordered a steak Milanesa (breaded steak), and for dessert a Pastel de Tres Leches. I paid with a credit card and then went and sat at a table next to a wall with an outlet where I could charge my cellphone that was running low in power. While I was there several people came to pick up orders to go; a couple of groups of workers, and some families as well. After all it was a Friday evening. When my food was ready one of the servers brought it to me. All the items looked and tasted delicious. The Steak Milanesa was a bit thin but tasted good. There was a small table up front with all kinds of sauces to put on your food. This is a comfortable little place where you can enjoy genuine Mexican food, alone or with family and friends. Nothing gourmet, just good home cooking.

The food was delicious, although I personally prefer a little more spice. ( There is a table with variety of sauces to choose from.) If it's your first time visiting, a little more guidance on how things work would help, like ordering and paying at the counter before sitting down, and that you can leave your plates on the table since the staff clears them for you. Overall, it's a pretty chill spot with great food and a relaxed atmosphere. Definitely worth checking out.
