I've got to say I was expecting more from this place. There are a lot of taco places in the area so we were hoping that they were a staple here like they are out west and up north. I ordered the spicy Joe, the Cali chicken and a Birria taco. The spicy Joe was good, but there wasn't much to it. The crema on the Cali chicken was NOT good. Maybe I'm just not used to crema made from buttermilk?? The Birria was delicious, however I could have done without the giant jalapeños. My boyfriend also ordered Birria tacos, which he enjoyed. The roasted cauliflower taco was way too saughy though, he couldn't even take more than one bite. The service was quick and easy. You just go up, order, pay, and then they bring the food to you. We stopped for lunch after exploring lost world caverns and this place did not disappoint! The ancho sweet potato tacos were fantastic. I appreciated all of the 'real food' vegetarian options. My meat eating family enjoyed their meals as well and my picky children also had no complaints. Portions were slightly small for the price but the restaurant was clean and the staff were friendly. The waitress offered my boys drink umbrellas for entertainment which was very kind. My only complaint is that I would have to drive hours from home to return! read more

Been here only two times since moving here three years ago (there are very limited options for dining out in this area.) Its not impressive. The meat is local thats true but their portions are not worth the price. I got a bowl both times and it was 98% cabbage and veggies. I get that they push healthy vegetarian but if I'm paying for local good meat, actually give me some. Its it no way authentic. I am Native American and Hispanic, I grew up in the Southwest eating authentic food. The atmosphere is definitely what I would have called hipster. The first time I came in the guy made a good drink and was nice enough, I will say that, but that's the only solid point I can make for the place in my opinion. They apparently close for the winter sometimes, so I heard, and you can order food from them in the wild bean or something. Idk, but most restaurants around here have odd hours or just close for no reason, or adjust how they operate for a few Months so that's not out of the norm I guess. Just a strange way to do business, and if you live here like me, makes you not care to come back when there is nothing special and its not even an option in winter. Overall give it a try if you are into hipster vibes and lots of veggies. If you want some affordable larger portions try one of the Mexican food places outside of downtown. It all depends on if you want bang for your buck and good Hispanic flavors, or a hipster vibe on the main street that will cost more. Ultimately that's what you are choosing between. read more

This place is great! Their tofu tacos and vegan burrito are delicious and so cheap! They are connected to a really good coffee shop as well.

First off, they did an utterly amazing job on the interior with thunderbird motif skateboard decks and bright turquoise and red colors of the Southwest. It's very inviting and the staff are also super nice. Beyond that however is the fact that the tacos are so very fresh and tasty. My shredded beef tacos had not only marinated beef that was very good but cabbage, jalapeños, and other supporting ingredients that you could tell were as fresh as could be. Same with the tortillas. We were at the Greenbrier for an event and decided to have lunch in the cute little town of Lewisburg. We were eying the Stardust Cafe, but got there 5 minutes late, they had closed at 3 pm! They suggested that we go to Thunderbird. So, let me start by what is good about this place: The decor is beautiful, there was funky music going on, the servers were super-friendly, and the restroom was clean! Importantly, based on what we were told at Stardust Cafe this place serves locally-sourced food, which is great and I'm all for supporting it! Things that didn't impress me much: We got the Guac Burrito and the Taco Salad, neither of which was good. I thought the burrito was just too...moist (for lack of a better word) and the taco salad had too much chips! You can add chicken to your salad if you want, which we had asked for, but they forgot to add the chicken. They were very nice about it and added it later. Overall, the place looked great, very friendly people, and locally-sourced food. I really wanted to like this place, but the food itself was very underwhelming. The decor inside is fun and inviting. It's a quick service ordering at the counter and then they will bring it to you. It's small inside for seating so just beware but many people ordering were doing takeout. The menu is very original ranging from their signature tacos, burritos, quesadillas and entrees. The beer is cold and the tacos are spicy! This little taco shop was close to our hotel when we were on a family vacation. I enjoyed the environment of the place. I have a Colorado vibe but apparently it's LA based. Either way the art was pretty cool and the prices seemed fair. I had the chicken Barito which had a lot of rice. The menu is not huge and includes some more traditional favorites but mostly unusual Tacos like a Korean BBQ taco, a Thunderbird taco, etc. The flour tortillas a not your average dusty flour crap. They're grilled, have that perfect chewiness, and are almost lard taco like (though I suspect lard isn't used.... I'm gonna pretend they were lard). Anyhow, explosions of flavor, textures, color. These are the perfect level of spicy for me. I know there are only 5 stars to give, but I give SIX! And I bought a T-shirt because they are badass. Anyway, $4 tacos are well, well worth the price. My wife and I were so excited to try out this Taco joint. We came into the restaurant and were immediately met with annoyed looks from staff. When we searched for the menu the cashier glared at us and sighed. When I asked a question about the meal he pointed at the menu and said "it's says it right there." Okay buddy.... So we ordered the Cali Chicken and sat down. Our meal came fairy quick, but it tasted awful. The chicken wasn't seasoned at all and tasted like it was out of a can. The taco was supposed to have queso on it... it didn't. For $15 bucks (for two people) I would rather eat at Taco Bell. At least there you get what you pay for. read more
