Been the 2 times on the same day! First stop was the food and second for ice cream! Ok, the English hot dogs where amazing and the hamburger as well..fries where not great..too well done. I've been to WV so many times, but I've just heard about this place recently when my friend told me about it. After a day out in Summersville Lake, this is the place to go for some delicious ice cream. They have so many flavors to choose from. I really enjoyed my chocolate peanut butter banana milkshake. They also have something resembling a frosty, called a storm, which I hope to try next time. They also serve food like hot dog, corn dogs, burgers, etc. The cheeseburger was basic, but decent, as was the fried mac and cheese. Too expensive to eat ice cream. Service is okay. But the wait for ice cream, milkshake and food is very long. You got to try Drennen Dairy bar. Drennen Dairy bar have great soft serve ice and milkshakes. I prefer Drennen Dairy Bar prices. read more

The perfect stop on the way to Summersville Lake, the largest lake in WV. The atmosphere is fun and very inviting. One of the best burgers and fries I have ever experienced. The chocolate milkshake was perfect and a great treat to dip your fries. The owners and staff are accommodating, friendly and 'aim to please.' Fun place to eat in Summersville Lake area. We had burgers and fries and both were delicious. Also tried a milkshake and it to was yummmmmy. The prices were great. Teens working summertime jobs at the counter, pony tails, a menu in the window, friendly people waiting in line, ample portions of ice cream swirled on top of cones, basic hot dogs, decent burgers and picnic tables. When I was a kid I begged to go to places like this. I had a chocolate malt, nice and thick but still able to get it through the straw. A cheeseburger topped with cold veggies and ketchup. You're not going to get a more generous portion of soft-serve in Nicholas Co, or anywhere near the Lake. They're one of the few games in town, so expect decent lines throughout the Summer, esp on weekends. But they always get our HUGE orders exactly right. The folks working the lines are very friendly and want you to walk away happy and full. The hot dog basket with English buns and an upgrade to the hand-cut onion rings, with an oreo shake pretty much hit the spot. My 3 year old son loved his vanilla cone dipped in 'the blue stuff!' The food is average. The hotdogs are good and taste just like long point bar and grille down the road. I'm bumping this up one extra star for their "blizzards". They call it something else but it's dairy queens version of a blizzard. These thing blow DQ out of the water. No comparison. It's richer, creamier and has heaps more goodies than a blizzard. My son and I love eating here. Our ONLY issue is that they aren't open year round! He's a bit of a picky eater but there are several items on the menu here that he orders time and time again. Burgers are fantastic, fried pickles are perfect, and SO many dessert options on a hot day! And when your ice cream is already perfect- any desserts you make with that same perfection is going to be amazing! I can't pick just one favorite dessert- they're ALL great! The prices are perfect for the sizes you get as well. There's usually a line of people from the lake, however the service is really good considering it isn't what I would call 'fast food' at all (Much better quality).
