Welcome to Taco Bell
Joel H.

The friendliest Taco Bell ever. We walked over from our hotel for a very quick snack. We have not been in a TB in a long time since I'm now making my own tacos at home. They have a very robust drive through and all the employees were preparing food but as soon as we got to the counter one of the team members came out and greeted us. Just a couple of Tacos to stay. Moments later were enjoying our fresh hot Tacos, served with a smile. I will not go into a whole review on the tacos. Crispy shell, tasty meat, and cool lettuce. All good. What I noticed about a take out order was impressive. It was sitting in a bag for a while when the team member said it had been out too long and wanted to remake so the customer would get fresh food. Impressive... very impressive. I have been coming to TB for so many years, I can't remember how long. I may give it a away when I say that there was only one TB on Long Island when I started going to them. That was only after I had been there in California. KUDOs to the team at Taco Bell.

I love The Taco Place! I have only gone for the Mexican food, but they have something for everyone!…read moreIn addition to Mexican, they have hot dogs, burgers and fries and also a selection of ice cream. Sadly, on this visit they did not have any tamales, but my food was still delicious! I opted to get a surf & turf taco (shrimp & barbacoa) and the governador (shrimp with grill onions). There is a bar with a selection of toppings for your tacos including cilantro, pico, hot sauce, pickled onions & more. It also has toppings for burgers/dogs if you went that way. My food was hot, fresh & satisfying. The service was friendly. There is a lot of covered & uncovered outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. They also have a playground and some hammocks. It is a very nice setting to enjoy your food. One if these days I'm gonna get some ice cream too! I will definitely be back to The Taco Place... Hopefully to enjoy some tamales! :)

Thanks everyone for your phenomenal reviews of this place. On our way back from Golden Hills…read moreState Park, my boyfriend and I discovered this place next to Crosbys, where we stopped to use the bathroom. At first, we thought it was just an ice cream place, until noticing the taco sign. The service, fast, friendly, and authentic taste, affordable menu, and for those that have the sweet tooth, their is the ice cream for dessert option. We spilt the two taco deal, and ordered a gringo to share as well. All the food was savory, seasoned perfect, delicious and hearty. Goes to show you, smaller towns like Barker, NY know how to deliver for Mexican food, and who doesn't love ice cream !! If your hungry and find yourself in Barker, NY, Golden Hills State park, stop and order, you wont be disappointed, and pleasantly surprised. Thanks The Taco Place....for a perfect Cinco de Mayo!!!

Great Service, But a West Coast Palate Had Trouble Adjusting…read more My husband and I decided to try Rustic Taco Bar during Canal Days, hoping for a taste of our former home on the West Coast. First off, I want to give a huge shout-out to the staff. The service was truly great--super friendly and attentive, especially considering how busy it was during the festival. We really appreciated how welcoming they were. However, we found the food to be a bit of a culture shock for our palates. We understand there are regional differences, and for us, this was very different from the Mexican food we're used to. The tacos were served on flour tortillas that, since they weren't freshly made, could have really benefited from being heated or toasted on the grill to give them a better texture and taste. The biggest surprise for us was the filling. We've learned that "beef" on the East Coast often means ground beef, which was very odd for us in a taco, as we were expecting carne asada. It brought back memories of childhood taco nights rather than the street tacos we know and love. The salsa was just okay; for us, it was really missing that punch of salt and a fresh squeeze of lime juice that makes a salsa pop. Overall, the people were wonderful, but the food just didn't quite hit the mark for our West Coast tastes. If you're not used to SoCal-style Mexican food, you might enjoy this more than we did. For us, it was a reminder that we're a long way from San Diego!

Cool place with a comfy feel that was very busy, which is always a good sign. Our waitress was nice…read moreand attentive for how busy it was. The tacos here are unique with a garbage plate taco, steak frites taco among others. They don't skimp on the the size or fillings for the tacos which I guess warrants the higher price per taco. You shouldn't leave hungry which I love. Overall the food was good. I had the steak frites and whiskey barrel bbq taco. Both were very good and my wife had the rustic beer fry(fish) taco and mango marg taco. 2 downsides that pushed me from a 4 to a 3. We ordered the elote corn side dish. It came out as corn on the cob which is not practical for dining out given the amount of toppings. We managed to cut a bunch off and the flavor was great but a mess. The other was a takeout order that we were bringing home for our daughter. It was entirely incorrect and the items we got were about 1/2 the price of what we ordered. We didn't realize until we were home staring in the face of disappointment and refusal to eat what we delivered from our daughter. That said I would still go back, but lesson learned on the corn and takeout.
