Food is amazing!First time at Taco Dero. I'm super impressed. I sampled the beef and chicken tacos. Absolutely delicious and the consumme sauce was such a perfect addition. I got a classic margarita and my husband got a hibiscus margarita. The bartender was friendly fast and efficient. The drinks were not watered down and had the right amount of ice. We had the street corn, fiesta potatoes and caramel apple taquitos. Everything was delicious. They take to go orders as well as a small tabletop seating area. The establishment was clean. It had a separate bar which was intimate and dark inside. There is room for live music, and at the entrance is a pool table which is $1.50 per person and a pay per game dart board. It's in a very convenient location directly across from the Frederick Douglas International Airport. It is a counter service restaurant. You pay when you order at the counter and they serve you at the tables. I will be returning and recommending.

We hired TacoDero's food truck to cater a wedding party of about 100 people. Chef Cordero was incredibly helpful in scheduling and planning the menu, and he and his team provided impeccable service and delicious food on the day of the event. Everyone at the party loved the food and the experience of the food truck. Tacodero was a huge part of a perfect, memorable evening. Thanks so much to Chef Cordero and his team!

This spot is close to our house so I've been wanting to try it. I placed an order for pick-up. There is off street parking. Looks like they have some outdoor seating for nicer weather. There is a bar area but it's separate and may have been closed. The interior isn't fancy but it appeared clean with a good amount of seating. My order was packed and ready to go on time. They were out of their pork birria. So I got an order of chicken tacos, beef tacos and their birria ramen plus sides of consume. The ramen is ok but probably not something we'd order again. However, the tacos were really really good. The protein portions are generous and the taco shells were nice and crunchy.

This place was recommended to me by a friend when i was telling him about another place that serves awesome birria tacos. So i decided to try them out then and there. Boy were they right!! some of the most authentic mexican food in rochester. The restaurant is located across the street from the airport (used to be theos). In the front of the restaurant is a "hole in the wall" mexican spot with a simple menu. The back was turned into a cocktail lounge with a long bar and even a table section. now more on the food - the birria tacos were just like la street tacos (their slogan) their birria sauce a little too liquidy than i like but a lot of meat and cheese and of course use two shells so A+ the fiesta potatoes were bomb and i dont usually like fiesta potatoes- so thats saying something the quesidillas also amazing and they dont skimp on ingredientts here either this might be one of my new favorite spots for some legit mexican food

Been meaning to stop in ever since a co-worker told me that they regularly stop to take home dinner, and that her family is loving the food that they first tried from the food truck. Well, we arrived the place was very quiet, one other table. But we did not let that worry us. Ordered at the counter, with the promise for the food to be delivered to our table. After we sat down, we noticed a small sign with an arrow, pointing to "The Lounge." We decided to go check out the lounge. The person at the front counter said they would bring our food to us in the lounge. So glad that we found the space. Great drinks. From margaritas to moscow mules. Tasty drinks, wonderful bartender. Shortly after we got our drinks, our food was delivered. AMAZING We wanted a very simple dinner, so ordered Birria beef tacos, and 'fiesta potatoes.' The first highlight was that the tacos were corn tortilla instead of far too common Rochester tradition of flour ones- equally important, the filling was WONDERFUL, so very tasty. The potatoes were also incredibly tasty- golden home fries topped with queso, bacon, sour cream, onions and cilantro. While the space was quiet while we were there, we learned that there are evenings when the lounge is packed, and they regularly have a DJ. They also have a wonderful VIP Booth, that if you are going out with a group, check into it. It comes with some amazing food and drink specials. Hope to see you there!

Great food at Taco Dero! I was able to try the chicken quesadillas, chicken tacos, chips, salsa, guacamole and the rum punch. Everything was good. The chicken quesadillas were my favorite! The flavors and the amount of chicken in proportion to cheese was perfect! The staff were kind and expressed that when me and my group came that they were busy and it would take some time for our food to be ready. I think that's helpful and gave us a heads up of what to expect waiting. I will tell my friends and family about Taco Dero!

Yum! These tacos are delicious. On the expensive side. Taste buds happy wallet not so much. Idk if I would buy again, I think there's more bang for your buck elsewhere.

TacoDero features "L.A. Street Tacos" or Birria tacos served with a side of flavorful consommé. Their shredded beef taco was outstanding, and I think this is the top taco truck in our area. It's definitely worth trying.

Just had the Burrito and it was AMAZING. It did not look like a lot but it was filling and the shredded beef was so good.

I come from the central coast in California and grew up with migrant workers from Mexico. It's been hard finding a place that had authentic Mexican food since moving to Rochester but this place can not be more authentic. However, sauces are not automatically included, so be sure to ask for them on the side. Side dishes are often an afterthought at many restaurants, but Chuy's offered several tasty options. *Tacos de Asada y Maduro: featured high quality steak with fried plantains. The plate included three tacos, Mexican beans, and rice. While the meat had a good char, it was slightly dry. Despite the menu listing chipotle crema, the sauce was not included on any of my visits. Its spice and creaminess would have tied the dish together. The plantains were perfectly golden brown and sweet. The beans and rice were both flavorful, though I wished the beans had a more consistent texture, as they varied between watery and refried. *Horchata: top tier cinnamon rice beverage that was nicely sweetened and well spiced. *Flan: was dense and creamy with a sweet, rich caramel sauce. The custard had a beautiful body and was a must order. I have never had a bad meal here, though consistent inclusion of sauces would easily push this spot into five star territory. Chuy's definitely satisfied my Mexican food cravings without leaving me feeling greasy.

My friend and I split the Hawaiian and the birria tacos. We also got a side of chips and guac. Guac was tiny and chips tasted stale. But the tacos were great! Birria is a type of oven baked meat like a roast if you will. The portion is 3 large tacos. The price was 17.50$ or so. The service was fast like a street cart. I think it was quite salty for the experience to be pleasant. Perhaps if you were starving you would have wolfed it down but I couldn't make it past the 2nd taco as I felt it was too salty to be enjoyable. The first taco went down ok with the cheese and soft melt in your mouth meat paired with cilantro (I opted out of the onion). But I struggled with the second one. I definitely couldn't finish all 3. So, would come back if the meat hadn't been that salty. Texture was ok- somewhat messy and oily all over the place. Wished it had a bit more veggie/crunch to it and more lemon juice to help cut the oil. Otherwise; a good try if you're looking for a taco place around this part of town.

Great Service, But a West Coast Palate Had Trouble Adjusting…read more My husband and I decided to try Rustic Taco Bar during Canal Days, hoping for a taste of our former home on the West Coast. First off, I want to give a huge shout-out to the staff. The service was truly great--super friendly and attentive, especially considering how busy it was during the festival. We really appreciated how welcoming they were. However, we found the food to be a bit of a culture shock for our palates. We understand there are regional differences, and for us, this was very different from the Mexican food we're used to. The tacos were served on flour tortillas that, since they weren't freshly made, could have really benefited from being heated or toasted on the grill to give them a better texture and taste. The biggest surprise for us was the filling. We've learned that "beef" on the East Coast often means ground beef, which was very odd for us in a taco, as we were expecting carne asada. It brought back memories of childhood taco nights rather than the street tacos we know and love. The salsa was just okay; for us, it was really missing that punch of salt and a fresh squeeze of lime juice that makes a salsa pop. Overall, the people were wonderful, but the food just didn't quite hit the mark for our West Coast tastes. If you're not used to SoCal-style Mexican food, you might enjoy this more than we did. For us, it was a reminder that we're a long way from San Diego!

The tacos here are unique with a garbage plate taco, steak frites taco among others. They don't skimp on the the size or fillings for the tacos which I guess warrants the higher price per taco. You shouldn't leave hungry which I love. Overall the food was good. I had the steak frites and whiskey barrel bbq taco. Both were very good and my wife had the rustic beer fry(fish) taco and mango marg taco. 2 downsides that pushed me from a 4 to a 3. We ordered the elote corn side dish. It came out as corn on the cob which is not practical for dining out given the amount of toppings. We managed to cut a bunch off and the flavor was great but a mess. The other was a takeout order that we were bringing home for our daughter. It was entirely incorrect and the items we got were about 1/2 the price of what we ordered. We didn't realize until we were home staring in the face of disappointment and refusal to eat what we delivered from our daughter. That said I would still go back, but lesson learned on the corn and takeout.
