They have a pretty wide variety of menu items, all things considered. It was blazing hot inside the lobby, so I hope they're cooler in the kitchen, but I loved the service and the food. I would love to go and donate some items to spruce up the look of the seating area. Also they need a good lighted sign from Good Sign Design Co! If you're looking for amazing street tacos and BIRRIA, this is your place. I haven't had birria in a while but it was noice! Keep kicking ass guys! Great food!

Hidden off the main road, Alex's Tacos & Wings looks like the kind of place you'd expect to uncover…read morea local treasure. Unfortunately, the food was just okay. My colleague and I both ordered the lunch special: three tacos with rice and refried beans. I chose tilapia, shrimp, and chicken. The tilapia was the clear winner. Well-seasoned and cooked properly. The shrimp and chicken? Dry and short on flavor. My colleague had steak, beef, and chicken tacos and came to the same conclusion. The proteins were serviceable, but nothing memorable. And that's really the theme here: average. Not bad. Not great. Just average. The bigger question is whether this is a taco restaurant or a wing restaurant. The menu seems to have an identity crisis, and after eating the tacos, I'm wondering if the wings are actually the star of the show. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing. Maybe the magic is in the wings. As for the tacos, they were fine.

They have hot and mild. I got the hot and it is gringo hot. It had some kick but and most people who don't eat peppers would find it hot. I like to sample a variety, so I went with the Bobby's Usual of brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage, and pulled pork with Bobo's Hot Corn + Hillbilly Beans. He offered onions, pickles, and jalapeños as side condiments along with their homemade BBQ sauce. I initially sampled the meats without sauce, but I have to say the sweet/smoky flavor of the sauce is a great compliment to the meats. You can tell Bobby learned his trade from Texas...solid brisket with a thin fat cap with a nice peppery crust. The pulled pork was perfect...moist and tender but still maintaining firmness. While the sausage is not made in-house, you could have fooled me. Nice crispy skin with a good jalapeño kick and plenty of cheese. The sides are exceptional! I loved the sweetness of the beans, and the Bobo Corn (I believe it's grandma's recipe) was addicting. Don't let the name fool you...there's a little heat, but the flavors are wonderful. I chopped a bit of onion and pork into the beans, a great flavor combination. The atmosphere is bright and open with some Texas decor...great place for family. Really good food and excellent service from this TX style BBQ spot...looking forward to my next visit to Columbia for more.

As authentic as it gets for Tennessee…read more From the moment you walk in, you are immediately immersed with the culture of a local, genuine, no-frills, Mexican experience. I say "experience" because this place is not just a place to get tacos. Half of the store is also a Mexican food market, which was such a fun surprise. You order up at the counter and simply find the seat that calls to you. Simply pay when you're headed on your way out. The birria pizza was so good. I will go here again just for that alone. So unique, but also delicious. The birria tacos fell a bit short of my expectations, but the burrito was fantastic. Will definitely come back because I can stress this enough, the experience alone was such a great pattern interrupt from how we typically anticipate Mexican restaurants to be. The staff was also very friendly.
