Just stumbled upon this place recently, and I most impressed! This place is as authentic as you can get for Spring Hill! I can't believe that this place is a hidden GEM! The food is absolutely delicious, authentic quality and flavors, the atmosphere is just unbelievably good, the service is friendly, the little store is awesome. I have nothing, but praise for this place! The Lengua tacos are really good! It's very hard to find places with Lengua out here. The birria tacos are delicious and don't fall apart after one bite. We loved the food, the sauce and condiments bar, the store selection, drink options, and even the hand washing station! A hand washing station on the side for customers to use before and after eating!?! Absolutely AWESOME! My family and I LOVED this place and can't wait to come back and try more food! read more

As authentic as it gets for Tennessee. From the moment you walk in, you are immediately immersed with the culture of a local, genuine, no-frills, Mexican experience. I say "experience" because this place is not just a place to get tacos. Half of the store is also a Mexican food market, which was such a fun surprise. You order up at the counter and simply find the seat that calls to you. Simply pay when you're headed on your way out. The birria pizza was so good. I will go here again just for that alone. So unique, but also delicious. The birria tacos fell a bit short of my expectations, but the burrito was fantastic. Will definitely come back because I can stress this enough, the experience alone was such a great pattern interrupt from how we typically anticipate Mexican restaurants to be. This is a no frills real Mexican place. I had the quesadilla with steak and it was excellent! Husband had the taco salad and was delicious. The fried the taco salad shell and cooked the quesadilla right on grill. 1. Go inside to back, look at very limited menu and order. 2. While waiting for food, go to front and grab a drink out of cooler. Just bring it back to table with you. 3. Jalapeños, sauce, etc around corner from grill. Help yourself. 4. Eat and enjoy. 5. Go to cash register and pay. Now like previous reviews, they don't 'wait' on you so expect no service but friendly employees and atmosphere. Appears clean. read more

So I am from SoCal and this place was awesome. It is what I was nervous I wouldn't be able to find here in middle Tennessee. Al pastor is my favorite and it was awesome here. If you're from California... this place isn't it. Literally the food is served to you premade sitting in warming plates. Gross. Meat (we tried several types) is full of gristle and fat. I mean literally the food is just soaking in juice all day. Not fresh. The flautas are literally premade and sitting in a pile behind the counter. Why do people give this place 4/5 star reviews when comparatively there are Mexican restaurants pulling out all the stops to give you fresh authentic food? It's not right. The vibe of the restaurant is whatever- I'm always game for a shotty appearance if the food is worth while. But that is NOT the case here. Mediocre at best- and that's probably generous. read more

We stopped in here for dinner the other night. This place is definitely authentic. We moved from Arizona, so we've been missing out on the authentic tastes. Inside, they have a small store (hence the name) of Mexican products including groceries, health and beauty, and more. The menu is pretty basic, but there's plenty of food to be had--and it's great. I ordered the tacos de birria and they were one of the better birria I've had. It came with rice and beans, and they were both pretty tasty. The consome was fantastic and had so much flavor. Yummy food. I can only eat half a burrito they're so big. The menudo is actually surprisingly tasty too. Tamales aren't bad. Rice & beans are delish They sell pan dulce, but it's proportioned in large quantity bags. I didn't see a spot where you could pick individual bread. Good spot for a quick fix. read more

This is a great authentic Mexican market/restaurant in spring Hill! The Asada burrito that I had was delicious and was very large for the price. The tacos are also good but they're not quite the street tacos that you might find at most authentic Mexican places. They are much larger and had flour tortillas instead of corn-they were very good but just more like something that you'd get at a more Americanized restaurant. The market also has all the essential ingredients and foods you would want as well as some fun drinks and snacks. Definitely check this place out! read more

I am a wedo from SoCal that needs his Carne Asada Taco fix. Spring Hill has this little gem that few people know about. Mi Hermanos make some of the best carne asada tacos in middle Tennessee. On top of that they have all the ingredients in the store to make these dishes yourself if you like. But brush up on your español, it is more fun to try to order and see how bad you are at speaking the language. read more

Finally got a chance to go here and check out the restaurant side of this place. Had previously checked out the grocery store. Great place! Much more like what I am used to in CA. Preparing your meal in front of you; the grilled meats in rich sauces; grilling the flour tortilla; huge tasty burrito with tons of meat, rice, beans, grilled onions etc.! I could only eat half of the burrito it was that huge but will enjoy the other half tomorrow. I got the carne asada - yummy! Very friendly staff. Will return again! This is a Mexican MARKET that also serves up food for sit down, if you want. The cook make up your plate from a buffet style line...like Subway. They have about 10 meat choices. All items are authentic... but unrecognizable to me so I went with safe chicken tacos. They were ok but didnt come with the cheese, lettuce, tomatoe that I prefer. The chicle paleta had always looked extremely tantalizing but I didn't end up trying it until my last visit. Who could resist that oh-so-appealing bubblegum pink and blue popsicle? My thoughts upon finally tasting it: The pink part was really good. Nice bubblegum flavor and perfectly sweet and creamy. The blue part, on the other hand, had a bitter taste not unlike the bubblegum-flavored fluoride from the dentist that scarred me for life as a child. Absolutely excellent! Legit authentic. I felt bad for my Spanish not being on point:) everyone in there was speaking Spanish staff and customers alike. I really should pick it back up. They know English for sure. So don't feel scared you won't be able to communicate. I just felt like wow, I'm entering a different world I should learn how to speak their language! I just moved to the area and was excited a Mexican store nearby. I went in to but some supplies for cooking myself. Itcost me over $46 for just staples. It was very expensive to the point of being gauged. many if the items can be found at regular store these day like Tortillas, peppers (fresh and canned), refried beans, salsa etc. I didn't eat at the restaurant which did look good. I've never thought of myself as an adventurous eater, there are foods I'll regularly pass on unless sorely pressed (I really don't like mushrooms) but if a food I typically like is on offer I'm all in. And if that food happens to be an authentic offering of an ethnic cuisine I like then look out coz I'm coming through! La Villa is just such a place. And it's not just tacos. They have a little Hispanic market that sells all sorts of excellent extras for your meal. Okay. This is straight up legit Mexican food. I can say that because I'm a Phoenix transplant and have spent the last 20 years eating some pretty authentic Mexican deliciousness. That being said, this place isn't for everybody. Lengua may frighten you, but I assure you, this place does it right. If Ortega taco seasoning qualifies as "Mexican" food, put down your tortilla, and get a taste of Mexico. I've been to a few other Mexican places, and they won't have horchatas or jamaica. I remember telling my wife that I feared I may not be able to enjoy a horchata until we visited PHX again. But lo and behold, Tienda La Villa came through...and down the street from my house! The marketplace is great too. They had chamoy to go with my duros! Another win for this little slice of Mexico. Best pork tamales I have ever had, hands down, and I've had them from all over. Real authentic cuisine, and if you're looking for a pretty place with "ambiance", this ain't your place. Since I don't care what a place looks like as much as I care what it TASTES like, this place is a must stop whenever I am craving real Mexican fare. Limited menu, but everything on it is amazing. We went here because a coworker recommended it to my husband amd it has great reviews. But it was hands down the grossest food I've ever ordered. I got the nachos and flautas and the chips were stale. The flautas were soaking in really gross liquid (why??) And the bottoms were soggy and the tortilla was stale. A story that many Spring Hillians have probably heard before, we moved here from California a few months back and have been craving real authentic street tacos. Places like these were a dime a dozen in Los Angeles but are few and far between here. All that being said their carne asada was right on point. My husband ordered three street tacos and they came with two corn tortillas each and the meat. That's all you need for a good taco. The meat should be able to stand on its own without all the crazy condiments that a lot of Mexican restaurants throw on top of their food. It did come with options like a very spicy and creamy avocado salsa, a delicious tomatillo salsa and pico de gallo. We also grabbed some limes and cilantro and onions. I ordered a carne asada burrito for $5.99. The thing was humongous! It could definitely feed two people, one person for two meals, or one very hungry person who is ready to take a long nap. Wow, this place has been a great find! Its very authentic street food. When you look around, almost everyone eating there is working class mexican. A good sign for the authenticity.... it reminds me of some of favorite places in southern california. The carnitas is definately a must. I have always received great service here... but it also help to be humble and compliment the team working here. Its not easy being an immigrant but a little encouragement goes a long way. I have been 3xs. First and second went ok, I felt a little like a tourist and not very welcomed but I get it, I still went about my ordering. The third time is what got me, ordered 3 tamales, barbacoa and carne asada. I ate two of the tamales, looked in the husk and realized that in fact, it was not pepper between the husks, but ants. Needless to say, I will not be returning at all. I could get over not having the most inviting experiences, but bugs in my food end it. What a neat little place! Ventured out to Spring Hill for some house shopping and wanted some quick to eat that wasn't fast food. It's in a little strip center and it's a market and deli all-in-one! The signs instruct you to order food, grab a drink, then pay! I ordered a marinated pork taco, steak taco, and chicken taco. Also tried their steak burrito which is filled and huge! Soooo good! I saw another post of tamales and decided to try that as well. Chicken tamales were a bit dry but the pork was amazing! Everything tasted fresh!
