Taco Express is good value for your money. Any lunch under $10 these days is ok for my budget. I got the grilled chicken burrito with chips and salsa. It was a solid filling meal. The burrito was good but not one I would go out of my way for. The chips were just ok as well. The salsa was good and fresh and the hot salsa I got for my burrito was good as well. They have hot and mild. I got the hot and it is gringo hot. It had some kick but and most people who don't eat peppers would find it hot. I thought it was tasty with a decent amount of heat without being hot. The service was good and quick. I'll probably go back just because it is convenient. read more

Taco Express Mexican Grill - menu - Mexican Near Me - Columbia, Tennessee

You will be amazed at the quality of the Mexican food from this small storefront. Clearly someone is Hispanic in the kitchen or has taught the kitchen the secrets. We have been to Mexico 5 times so far and this place's taste, freshness, and value, it honestly makes Taco Bell a less desirable destination for quick takeout Mexican cuisine. Recommended this to Guatemalan workers at my house, and given the smiles, these hard working hombres were very happy with this gringo's recommendation! read more

Much more than tacos here! I needed to grab something quick for lunch and this place is close to my office so I thought I would check out the food. I placed a to go order for 2 ground beef enchiladas and guacamole and chips. The guacamole and chips were great. I would have been more excited if I actually had beef enchiladas instead of cheese enchiladas when I got it back to my office but they were good. There was probably a misunderstanding with my southern accent so I will have to go back soon for beef enchiladas. The service was very friendly and fast. What a great combination for a work lunch! read more

Taco Express Mexican Grill - the outside of the restaurant - Mexican Near Me - Columbia, Tennessee

It's been several months and we keep coming back. Food quality has dropped slightly from a solid 5 stars to 4. Still good but I consider this a quick/fast food type stop They do keep the place very clean and over all a good value for the money. read more

We have been going to this place for taco Tuesday since we moved here in august. Tonight we had very rude service, asked for one corn tortilla on the tacos and was argued with saying they couldn't do it?? That is how I have ordered them for months and they were able to resist putting that second corn tortilla on my taco. She finally said they would do it, which they did Not! And she was extremely rude and sarcastic with my husband when he arrived. Won't go back. Lots more places to support where the service is pleasant. read more

Best Mexican restaurant in Columbia, hands down! I recommend this place to anyone going to or traveling through Columbia. Their salsa is fresh and not too spicy. I always get their quesadilla, they are loaded with food and leave you full. They also have delicious burritos, enchiladas and nachos. One of my absolute favorite things they serve is their guacamole. It is fresh and more on the creamy side so heads up if you are into chunky guacamole. They have great service and are always polite. I had them cater a small event for me. The manager that handles the catering operations was polite and helpful. Love this place and visit it every time I am near Columbia! read more

Love the employee. service is always fast and food is fresh. I'm reviewing only in hopes the cooks/owner will see; The guacamole is too runny and has wayyyy too much lime. just a little cumin, salt pepper and Fresh avocados go a long way. Only a very small amount of lime is needed. it's overwhelming and I can't even taste the avacado read more

This rating is based solely on the fact that these tacos are perfect. It's not a true 5star restaurant, but if you come expecting a standard store front taco joint you will be wildly pleased at the food. Pretty average building, loud Spanish music playing, annoying daytime television....and then...Pastor tacos! A little grill char, a little spice and a LOT of flavor. We stopped in yesterday for lunch and came back again today. I plan to eat here every time I'm in the area!!! read more

This used to be my favorite spot, but the last few times hasn't been so pleasant. I did a call in order for a chicken quesadilla, no guacamole. Of course, it had extra guacamole on it. I was really stunned on how the portion size just keep getting smaller and the price is steadily increasing. So I sure hated to drive it back, but I did. I'll try it again in the next month to see if my order will be right. As always, they have great customer service. read more

My shrimp tacos were made to order, the sauce is good and tortilla soft and hearty. I appreciate the tacos were made fresh. read more

Living in south Texas my entire life with authentic Tex-Mex, I would consider myself a bit of a snob when it comes to good Mexican food, and honestly after an EXTREMELY and I do mean EXTREMELY exhaustive search in this town, my final vote is for here. Pretty decent food, good prices, staff is super sweet and their consistent. Only things I would change, thicker queso (PS: Why is there NO yellow queso in this town?,) chimichangas actually dropped and fried instead of just browning on outside, and what's up with the cinnamon in the enchilada gravy? That's what mole is for Nonetheless, they still rock it, and I thank god, they're here, because if not....oh....the depression would be deep. Thanks for everything guys-Love from a H-Town Girl read more

Honestly it's pretty good, I really like their rolled tacos here. Oh and the nachos are pretty good too. Gave it 3 stars because it can be hit and miss sometimes. read more

Came here while on a business trip and grabbed a quick bite with colleagues. A number of us were fairly new to the Columbia area and were recommended to eat here which turned out to be a great choice. Service was friendly and really fast even though the line was out the door. The one woman whom took our orders worked the cash register and the small dining room that is available to patrons whom eat inside. To-go is also an option, and is simply served in a bag with napkins and plasticware; they also do catering to local establishments. With six of us in our party we waited no less than 10 minutes to receive food and each of our tables received two bottles of salsa, the green one being hotter than the red sauce. Neither were particularly hot and I'm not sure if the sauce is made by them or simply delivered. The quality of ingredients was middle of the road and rather greasy, but tasty enough to warrant a visit there over Taco Bell any day. I ordered a veggie burrito and it was more than enough food for one, if you add the beans and rice that come as a side option, that could easily satisfy two people. Considering there aren't a lot of options in the area, this is a great local place to stop and enjoy a quick bite! read more

This is one of the best places ever for mexican food. They have their own delicious flavors that are always very fresh tasing. The portions are extremely generous! I am usually by myself on a lunch break and get something small, which is always twice as big as expected. I saw a chicken quesadilla go by that looked like it could feed a family of 5! read more

I've eaten here many times. 99% of time I get the grilled chicken taco salad which is delicious. The staff are nice and the place has always been clean. The prices can be a little high on most items. read more

Lived in Tucson 20 years.. This is as close as it gets to authentic Sonoran-style Mexican here in Columbia. Been here dozens of times, never had a bad meal. Highly recommended. read more

I've been eating at this location for years. There has been many changes in that time. Staff has come and gone. Menu adaptions. But it has always been a great place to grab a great bite of Mexican I've eaten my weight in Tacos Love the red and green salsas in the squeeze bottle. The supreme nachos are delicious. The pollo con queso is heavenly. The burritos are big, stuffed with meat and have great flavor. Over the years my experience with staff has been mostly positive and the current crew is a good one. Most of the time it is a short wait. Also they keep the bathrooms clean read more

The staff is very friendly and helpful! The food is always amazing!! Dine in or order to go, you will not be disappointed! Their super nachos and quesidillas are my favorites!! read more

This restaurant will never get another dollar from me, hell they won't even let me spend another dollar the way that I see... I have been denied business from them on numerous occasions..... They refuse to pick up the phone to take orders, they refuse service to walk-in customers. When I tried to talk to the manager about it, all he said was sorry ma'am.... Well sorry sir, you just lost a loyal customer..... Poor service, no service...... Worst customer service ever..... I'm done trying to spend another dollar with them...... They will not be here much longer..... read more

So hard to find great Mexican food these days. Stopped in this little place on the way through town on a road trip. The place is immaculately clean and the service top notch. The chorizo egg burrito had the perfect ratio and the fish taco is one of the best we have ever found. You will not be disappointed. read more

Best Mexican food hands down. My fiancé and I live in Pulaski which is about 30 minutes south of Columbia and we gladly drive to Columbia whenever the craving for Spanish food hits. I suggest the burritos. Great deal for the money but honestly I like everything on the menu. Enjoy! read more

Had a great lunch there taco beans and rice was pretty good and the service was great! Thursday buy one get one drinks.

Food was good. Difficult getting refills of chips. The servings of nachos were large and the carne asada taco was very good. Also had good cheese dip. read more

Giving a three star is the nice side of me talking. Had the steak torta and I can't stress enough of how hard the bread was to bite into. The ingredients used were not as fresh as I expected. Definitely the salsas are not fresh, at least not the same fresh flavored salsas I've had from other taco shops in Nashville or in my hometown Lynwood, CA. Can't say I will be back anytime soon. read more

Excellent! Everything here is great. Best tacos in town. The burritos are big. All the food is fresh, made to order. The carnitas and chorizo burritos are my favorites. Also like the carnitas, fish, chicken, and beef tacos. read more

This is an wonderful experience! Clean, friendly, and the food is delicious and fresh. My son and I have had a good meal and a good time. It is not loud, and we are actually able to sit down and have a conversation. We definitely plan to return! I will not be going back here. For one it took about 30 minutes to get my food and was then given the wrong order and had to wait longer. I never got my drink that was supposed to come with my combo. Then I get home and there's no guacamole on my rolled tacos even though I specifically asked for it. The enchiladas are in a gross sweet sauce that tastes like cinnamon, so we didn't even eat them at all. And the shrimp burrito that we got tasted like old shrimp and the only thing in the burrito was the shrimp and some sauce. I am very disappointed and will need to find a different Mexican food place to go to. read more
