My family ended up ordering an array of dishes including their: pollo Street tacos, steak rice bowl, cheese quesadilla, classic beef tacos, as well as a "The little piggies" burrito. Every item was really good. The employees were all fantastic, friendly and hard working. We had decided to dine in, and after a short wait, our meal was delivered directly to our table, steaming hot and yummy. The restaurant itself was nice and clean, there was plenty of comfortable seating, a great selection of flavored sodas, the ingredients all tasted fresh, a nice sized parking lot, and even a drive-thru, if you'd prefer to take your food elsewhere. Overall great experience, I would happily eat here again any time, and my family agrees completely.

Service is very good and friendly. Ambiance is a bit on the hole in the wall side, but clean. I'm not too excited about the country music, but I guess the local community does. Oh, if you like hot and tasty hot sauce, you got to try the one made with roasted peppers.

While visiting Michigan, I stopped into Gilley's and ordered a custom breakfast plate because I'm on a special diet. It was so good that I came back twice. I've jokingly started calling it the "El San Diego" breakfast plate. The pork was flavorful, the food was fresh, and everything was cooked perfectly. What really stood out was the service. On my return visit, the owner remembered my order and personally whipped up the same El San Diego breakfast plate for me again. It was just as incredible the second time. Friendly staff, great food, great ambiance, and genuine 5 star hospitality. As a Southern California Mexican food snob, I can honestly say Gilley's exceeded my expectations. I'll definitely be back a third time before I leave.

After a quick Yelp search, we found Gilly's and are glad we did! The restaurant is tucked away in an old business district...many of the neighboring businesses are closed. It has a parking area in the back but we just parked on the street out front. The staff was very friendly when we ordered at the counter. I ordered a wet burrito. (For those not from around here-it's basically a burrito with some sauce on top). It was very good and I couldn't finish it all. My husband and son both ordered quesadillas, which they liked. My husband said his steak quesadilla was a bit greasy but that was the only negative of our whole meal. We also shared some street corn fries, which we loved. It was street corn on top of fries. I loved the corn so much that I will just get a side of that on my next visit-but the fries were great too. The menu doesn't say it but they told me they would also make items with corn tortillas if a gluten free dish is needed. This may be a new favorite in Bay City! The location is a little out of the way but definitely worth finding!

Food took 16 min after I ordered which is fine for a restaurant but not for tacos. I got the chicken apple taco and the pulled pork taco. The chicken apple taco was fine, I wish the apples brought more flavor instead of just the texture. Now the pulled pork bbq taco I was looking forward to since I really like bbq pulled pork. The pulled pork taco didn't have much pulled pork and was mostly sauce, the avocado cream was way overpowering and abundant where sometimes you would just get a bite of avocado, and the bbq sauce was barely there, wish there was more I could add myself on the table. Overall I was disappointed but I guess I didn't try all the options.

Our daughter and I returned to the car for a phone battery and saw Proper Taco and immediately went inside. Proper taco looks to be able to support, seemingly, any dietary concern... if it isn't already noted on their menu, I recommend just asking about your needs. There are almost too many tasty items on the menu; after a few minutes, she ordered tacos and I ordered Merv nachos for my wonderful wife and me. While we waited we laughed at the many magnets and other items with humorous quotes on them. We enjoyed this great food back in our seats, at the concert. I can speak to the fact that the Merv tacos are quite nice - great chips with so many flavors on top. Fantastic staff. Fantastic food, leading to my Plus Plus (++) award! Thank you, Proper Taco! We look to return on our next visit.
