Hard tacos, beans, rice and puffy taco.

Service was impeccable..Ambiance was everything and overall pretty good! The hard shell taco is my fave and the rice was very flavorful! I don't like the beans..

Ground beef enchiladas, beans and rice.

First time here and it definitely won't be the last! The food was amazing -- authentic, delicious, and the portions were very generous. You definitely get your money's worth! Everything was reasonably priced for the quality and amount of food you get. The staff was kind, welcoming, and made us feel comfortable right away. Great experience all around. Glad we finally tried it and already looking forward to going back.

It was my first time trying Gilly's, I've heard from a few people how great it is. The food was phenomenal, and the service was even better Diana came out and chatted with us. It is such a welcoming and fantastic environment, super reasonable prices! You should definitely check Gilly's Bistro out!

Birria

Food is phenomenal. Beans not so much. The barbacoa is amazing and so is the birria. Even the rice is really good. Ordered at the counter, they brought it to us outside. Service was great, fast and food was brought out hot. Definitely worth it. Best birria and barbacoa I've had in a long long time!

Brisket Tacos, rice and bean sides. Ice cold Coca-Cola and that Jarritos juice

We were greeted just inside the door, they were happy to tell is how they do things and even directed us to our favorite dishes. Food was longed for since we have no real authentic Mexican places to eat, really. Love this place and plan to use them for catering soon!!

I was trying to find a Mexican market in the thumb, which is pretty much impossible and somebody told me about Gilly's in Bay City. While they do have some Mexican staples, it is definitely more of a restaurant and it was excellent. I got the birria tacos and thought I would be able to finish three of them with a side of rice and beans and I ended up taking one of the tacos and the rice and beans home with me. Everybody there was super friendly and asking me how the food was. Two thumbs up. Two thumbs up!

Great tacos 5 for $5 on Tuesdays. Great service and nice atmosphere, close to downtown and close to the hospital. First time here, I was very pleased. Nice and clean and versatile menu. Mexican market also.

What a wonderful place, awesome ppl and the food!!! Next level to say the least! I have been wanting to find a place like this for a long time... Although there is a wait compared to other places.... Ppl need to take into consideration that this is homemade/scratch made food!!! Not the normal pre cooked stuff that 90 percent of other places like this do.... So much love put into the food and a very authentic quaint little place to eat.... If you are impatient then I would suggest to call ahead but we do not as I love sitting and watching the food being made and chatting with the ppl who work\own the place ... Thank you Gilly's for being our new Mexican place...

Fabulous food and friendly service. We always enjoy our experience at Gilly's. My favorites are the nachos and tostadas.

Well, we've wanted to try this place for quite some time. Turns out... today was the day. We went…read morefor dinner on a Saturday evening. The place was busy, not overly busy. Just what you would expect for a Saturday. We were seated promptly and our order was taken promptly. Then we waited, and waited, and waited... nearly 45 minutes for our food to come out. I mean come on. It's a Mexican restaurant that bills itself as a bit upscale. I ordered the ribeye with an add on of grilled shrimp and my wife ordered the steak fajita's. I have to admit. THAT Ribeye was absolutely fantastic! The grilled shrimp were also very good. Not $10 up charge good, but good. My wife's fajitas were just kind of ho hum. Nothing special whatsoever. In the end, with tip and zero alcoholic beverages our bill was just shy of a $100. For an "upscale" Mexican dinner. There are much better Mexican Food alternatives for that kind of money in Bay City. Don't get me wrong... the food was very good. Just not $100 good.

I never even got a chance to try their food. I found their phone number online & when I called,…read moresome young woman picked up the phone and went, "Uhm, hello?" followed by about 5 seconds of awkward silence - not "Hi, thanks for calling Krazy Juan Mexican Steak House, what can I do for you?" Apparently they are completely clueless on both phone etiquette and how to run a business. After confirming I didn't just call some random person, I asked for a takeout order, so she forwarded the phone back to the bar. The guy who picked up the phone sounded confused when I asked for takeout, and immediately put me on hold. At that point I went, "F it, this is pathetic" and hung up. Of course Krazy Juan's is yet another fake, overpriced Dow restaurant that their execs eat at when "slumming it" having business meetings in Bay City.

The first day I went there for lunch and took my husband later for dinner. I went on a Thursday and their special was fajitas. I ordered one and had several condiments added taco style. I also had rice and beans added on the side. For dinner my husband had 2 steak burritos, and I had the same. As a dessert I had this incredible cherry, cinnamon and sugar puffy fried thing which I can't remember the name of, but it was delish. On Friday I ordered a chicken burrito (which was big) with cheese, lettuce etc. added. The choice of meats were shredded chicken shredded pork or beef. I also bought 2 containers of huge blueberry muffins. There were 2 in each container. On Friday they offered blueberry, but sometimes they have apple and one other variety but I don't remember what that was. The muffins were better than I have ever had, but very rich. Saturday I ordered a chimichanga which was deep fried and so big I could not eat it all and had the rest for dinner. Every day they were so busy, 5 or 6 people were in front of me. Saturday the wait time was a little longer because everyone was ordering chimichangas, which took a little longer to prepare. I suggest calling your order in and you can get right in and pick it up. It seems a lot of people ordered that way. Especially at lunch time. on Thursday and Friday. Everything I ordered was fresh made and very good. I highly Reccommend this gem of a place, you won't be disappointed.

Two orders of taco and a taco salad at the table, both looked good, no complaints from the ones that ordered. Wife got the Chimi and said it was really good, daughter had the steak burrito, good but said the steak was a little dry. You get chips and salsa as soon as you sit down (as you should). The bad(s) only have bottled pop, they serve the Mexican version of coke and Fanta, which you have to purchase by the bottle. The syrup container you have to pour the salsa out of were a pain, but I just took the top off. Salsa it's self was good, some at the table didn't care for the added cilantro and thought that it wasn't sweet enough. I really hope this place makes it, it was good food at a reasonable price point for a sit down Mexican restaurant.

The restaurant is spotless, modern, and comfortable. The challenge is consistency from the kitchen. If there is something that you want, just ask and they will try to make it happen.
