While visiting Michigan, I stopped into Gilley's and ordered a custom breakfast plate because I'm on a special diet. It was so good that I came back twice. I've jokingly started calling it the "El San Diego" breakfast plate. The pork was flavorful, the food was fresh, and everything was cooked perfectly. What really stood out was the service. On my return visit, the owner remembered my order and personally whipped up the same El San Diego breakfast plate for me again. It was just as incredible the second time. Friendly staff, great food, great ambiance, and genuine 5 star hospitality. As a Southern California Mexican food snob, I can honestly say Gilley's exceeded my expectations. I'll definitely be back a third time before I leave.

While working in Michigan this weekend, I decided to try Los Pinos Tacos after seeing strong Yelp…read morereviews--and they absolutely delivered. I ordered the carne asada burrito with fries inside, which might sound unusual , but it was incredible. Having lived in San Diego, we call this a "California burrito" (carne asada, fries, guacamole, sour cream, and cheese), and it was done right . I was genuinely surprised to find a spot serving this style of burrito in Bay City, MI (of all places) and even more impressed by how well it was executed. Highly recommend trying it--you may not go back to a regular burrito after. I'll definitely be back (likely tomorrow).

We were promptly served chips and salsa, then ordered our apps and meals - the cheese dip, guacamole and salsa were fantastic and came out quickly. Great service overall.

Meh!?! We went there after all the glowing reviews…read more. When we went we were the only ones there for the first 20 minutes or so... Service was sluggish, and the water tastes bad (either bad ice or bad taps, yuck). We ordered the cheese dip, which was brought out before our food, but we watched it form cheese skin while we waited for chips to arrive, eventually I had to get up and ask for chips, before the cheese got completely cold. I dont know what they thought we were going to do with the cheese dip without chips, sip it?? $8 margarita was way too sweet and $13 paloma cost almost as much as my entree. The tricolor enchiladas were good and the tacos were also good, chips good. Food overall was fine. Service was slow and mumbly, 4-5 tables filled in while we were there, but we were not checked on, never asked about 2nd round of drinks.. food was not special enough to make up for the inattentive waitstaff. I will say the menu is quite extensive, so they have lots of options if you have more patience than I do.

When we arrived after the lunch hour, we realized that we were the only customers in the place! There were 2 customers that came by to pick-up to go food, but during the time we were there, no one else came by. The waitresses were very nice, but very slow in taking our orders! The food seemed to take forever, but it finally arrived! For the most part, the food was OK, but the refried beans were a bit tasteless. We had a total of 9 people in our group, but with the slow service it made no sense that everything took forever! Is this a family run business? And a gratuity was automatically added to our bills! We would not have given what the included!

The first day I went there for lunch and took my husband later for dinner. I went on a Thursday and their special was fajitas. I ordered one and had several condiments added taco style. I also had rice and beans added on the side. For dinner my husband had 2 steak burritos, and I had the same. As a dessert I had this incredible cherry, cinnamon and sugar puffy fried thing which I can't remember the name of, but it was delish. On Friday I ordered a chicken burrito (which was big) with cheese, lettuce etc. added. The choice of meats were shredded chicken shredded pork or beef. I also bought 2 containers of huge blueberry muffins. There were 2 in each container. On Friday they offered blueberry, but sometimes they have apple and one other variety but I don't remember what that was. The muffins were better than I have ever had, but very rich. Saturday I ordered a chimichanga which was deep fried and so big I could not eat it all and had the rest for dinner. Every day they were so busy, 5 or 6 people were in front of me. Saturday the wait time was a little longer because everyone was ordering chimichangas, which took a little longer to prepare. I suggest calling your order in and you can get right in and pick it up. It seems a lot of people ordered that way. Especially at lunch time. on Thursday and Friday. Everything I ordered was fresh made and very good. I highly Reccommend this gem of a place, you won't be disappointed.
