Husband and I enjoyed the tostada and a burrito crunch, along with a side of guacamole and chips. The guacamole was the best we've ever had. If you like cilantro you will love their guac!! I love the choice of proteins you can have in your orders. I have had the Al pastor, asada, lengua, Barbacoa. All were delicious. Today I had a large wet burrito Asada and I should've eaten half and taken half home, but it tasted so delicious I didn't want to stop eating. The red sauce was obviously prepared fresh as all the salsas were. I was pleasantly surprised the first time I ate here, now it's our go-to for Taco Tuesday or any other day we're craving authentic tacos. I had the bistek, very well seasoned and texture was on point, very authentic. Salsa is definitely homemade, a huge plus. Red salsa is my fav, it reminded me of the one my grandmother makes at home. Cilantro and onions were nice and fresh, limes as well. The corn tortilla was store bought, honestly they're a more authentic tortilla away from being in my top 5. Our motorcycle group, This Ride Goes to 11, embarked on our annual Tacopacolypse Taco Run on Saturday, 7/272/2024. We had 20 riders in the group and were excited to visit 4 different restaurants to find the best Taco in the greater Detroit area. Jalisco Deli was our 3rd stop of the day and Anna and her staff quickly seated our party and took our order. We requested the best Taco, Chips and, Salsa they had to offer and they did not disappoint. They enthusiastically jumped into action and delivered several taco options, including barbacoa, chicken, carne asada, chorizo, and tongue. Everyone enjoyed the salsas and sauces, fresh guacamole and, queso! They also doubled our order at no cost! Needless to say, everyone left stuffed and satisfied and at the end of the day, Jalisco Deli was voted the #1 Taco in this year's Taco Run. I just came back to my native Michigan after 12 years in central Texas, and was missing both good TexMex and authentic Mexican style tacos that are common in Texas. I was worried the only good Mexican food I would have would be if I cooked it myself. But then, I found this place, and is it ever so delicious! Was happy to find beef barbacoa tacos, and tamales (when they arent sold out). The salsa is good, and the guacamole too! The ground beef American taco was also very good, and the flour tortilla tasted homemade (not that prepackaged yoga-mat like stuff). This is the REAL thing. I had two weeks ago dinner with marinated beef in one and marinated pork in the other. Hubby had chorizo. Out of this world is all I can say... my fave was the marinated pork. Sauce to die for. It came with homemade chips and salsa. Three choices of hot sauce. We went for the green. Such a great place! Found for the first time on yelp a few years ago. Absolutely delicious. Finally was in the area again and this was our top choice of places to eat in the area. The orange salsa is one of the best salsas I've ever had. The tamales were great - the chips and salsa are so good too. We brought home a pound of chips, salsa, orange salsa and tamales for lunch tomorrow. All that plus a meal, side, and drink for my husband and I for under $40!!! What a steal! This is the authentic Mexican restaurant I've been searching for, and it just so happens to be in the town we've moved to. The menu is chalked upon the wall, there are grocery shelves filled with Mexican products, some famous sodas from Mexico sit in a fridge. These are the signs that you are in for the real deal. My wife and I ordered four tacos, and split a small nachos deluxe. The meats to choose from include Asada Beef, Pork, Chorizo, Beef Tongue and Chicken. We chose Asada and Chicken. The tacos are authentic soft corn shells with your meat of choice, onions, cilantro and cheese. The nachos are house-made chips topped with the same toppings as the tacos, with the addition of jalapenos, beans, tomatoes and avocado. To say our food was amazing is an understatement, our food was phenomenal. A delicious melding of flavors and heat made for a very enlightening experience. Enlightening, because knowing that amazing Mexican food is a short drive away is very relieving. Bakery is misleading- they are an amazing lunch/dinner taco spot that sells a few groceries. Authentic food, great prices, good service. Carne Asada tacos are our favorite. Do wish they also made Mexican baked goods though... Update: we had one of every type of taco and can recommend them all- even la lengua! Nacho portion today (ordered large carry-out) was smaller than small dine-in portion and had a very, very small percentage of toppings, half of which were canned jalapeños. Their carne asada has NO flavor (across all menu items) but their lengua is tender and delicious. Hot sauces still good. I stopped in after reading good reviews. I got chicken enchiladas and rice. Everything was excellent. However I noticed in the pictures on the reviews the cheese was never melted on the dishes . When I got my enchilads they where piled high with cold cheese. Which in turn made the whole dish cold. The food was so good however a mouth full of cold cheese ruined it. I'd highly suggest melting the cheese it would turn this 4 star to a 5 star review. read more
