I visited Butte recently for work. I was looking for a 5pm lunch and wanted something fresh. I…read moredecided to try Taco Del Sol as it looked very similar to Chipotle. When I came in there were 2 girls working behind the counter as quickly as they could. I didn't have to wait long before it was my turn to build my bowl. For my bowl I added rice, pinto beans with jalapenos, chicken, pico de gallo, cheese, jalapenos, cilantro, and guacamole and sour cream for an additional charge. I topped the bowl with white sauce and a cilantro lime sauce on the recommendation of the girl behind the counter. I also got a side of rice and beans for later in the day. When I got back to my hotel room I dug into my bowl. The first thing I noticed was how heavy it was, which was great because I was starving. Everything tasted decent, it was fresh, and the chicken was very tender. I'm glad of the recommendation of sauces as it made the bowl creamier. Overall, the flavors were subtle, but you get a lot of food for your money and everything was fresh. Plus, I really appreciated the helpfulness of the staff.

The dining room is quite pleasant, with plenty of tables all brightly adorned with artwork. We both ordered the taco lunch special, which came with one taco, refried beans, and rice. My wife selected shredded beef in a soft shell, while I went classic with a crispy shell filled with ground beef. For good measure, we ordered a side of guacamole. While waiting, we munched on the complimentary chips and salsa. Our meals arrived quickly. Our tacos were stuffed full and very tasty. The rice and beans were ok but could have been better. The guacamole was great. The portions were a decent lunch size. Overall, we were happy to pick this spot, and the short walk from the chargers was a bonus.

I travel a lot for work, and I've eaten out so much that I really don't enjoy it (only because I hate eating out without my family) whether I spend $5 or $50. So yes, any week I'm in town, I'll eat here again, probably once a week, maybe even twice.

I almost always will choose a local place over a chain restaurant. I didn't set my expectations for…read morethe moon because it is more or less fast food. I ordered a few things - a couple tacos, a burrito, and chips and cheese. The taco's were the most bland and flavorless tacos I've ever tried. The shells had a stale musty taste, and no flavor. The meat didn't seem flavored, and the chicken was not really a shredded consistency but a wet soggy mess. The burrito was just plain not good. And the chips and cheese were a handful of chips in a paper boat-dish with a bit of really low quality cheese sprinkled on and then microwaved till the cheese is hard and the chips are soggy - and all of it fused to the paper dish. I didn't eat much of it at all and that's a shame, because it's expensive for what it is. There are much better options either sit-down restaurants or fast food that will save you a few bucks and not leave you wondering if that was supposed to be Mexican food or just a really, really bad joke. Since it's a local place, I'd love to say it's good - but it's a big no from me, both for my wallet and my palate.
