Just fine! I know Christina's has been a staple to the Butte restaurant scene for several years, and I'm curious how it came to be - in the land of pasties, steak and sammiches. (hardly any information is available online about its inception) It's definitely an alternative to your regular western cuisine, but it's still mostly that. Westerny. Lacking in the spice department - I had to ask for hot sauce since señor Tapatío and señorita Cholula weren't readily on the table. The food made me want to throw up and cry. The salsa was just tomato and onion in a bowl. Natalie also spat in my food before she handed it to me. 04/25/2024- The service was excellent but this isn't Mexican food. No flavor, no heat and they serve mushy Spanish rice instead of Mexican rice. Menu says beans and you get beans not refried beans. Taco salad was tiny and not worth it. Very disappointed since it was our first time. read more

Christina's has been consistently serving great food for a long time. We have never been disappointed in any of our meals. Love the 'extra' hot salsa they give with your chips so you can add a little kick to the regular salsa. The place is very popular and can get busy during peak times of the day. This place was just meh! I always like to say I judge a Mexican restaurant by their chips and their chips were not good, bland. I got their chicken cilantro roll and it's was ok. But nothing special. Great service, everything else is was just so bad. The salsa was made w canned vegetables and had zero spice to it. I enjoy going to Christina's Cocina. Usually I don't notice how great it is until I go out of town and go to a restaurant serving similar food. We are lucky in Butte to have such good variety (except when it comes to Asian food) in our dining options. Christina's chips and salsa are great and they give you a small thing of hot sauce so you can heat it up to taste (I like mine SPICY) I love the chicken cilantro rolls and heartily recommend them. Sometimes the wait staff is lacking personality and seem like they're going through the motions. They don't have a high turnover so they must treat their employees well. I guess they're just not the most outgoing folk there. The food is consistently good, though, and I've never had a bad meal there. I am craving some Christina's right now. read more

Do not go on weekend nights; the place gets real busy, the wait for a table can be anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes, and some seating is in adjoining McGrath's Bar, which may or may not be a good thing depending on if you have minors with you. If I could rate this place a zero, I would. The dishes were way overpriced, the food tasted like everything was out of a can and had no flavor to it, and the floor and utensils were dirty. Visiting MT from the Chicagoland area, went to Butte to "see the sights" where we saw a sign for the Cocina and remembered it was mentioned in a to-do-in-MT booklet. The neighborhood didn't look promising, but the restaurant itself didn't turn me off so gave it a shot. Pleasantly surprised to find good "Mexican" in central MT. The chips and salsa were great, loved that you get a red chili sauce to spice up your salsa to your preferred heat. My burrito was good, the rice was different than what I'm used to, but it was good. We had wanted to try the fried cheesecake dessert but were way too full. My daughter who doesn't like Mexican had chicken strips and fries, which at most Mexican restaurants are barely passable, were really good, large pieces with nice crispy fries. read more

They gave me the whole 83.00 dollars worth of wings...when i called to tell them... More like Cochina Cafe. Ambiance was pleasant. Service was adequate, even though it took forever to be served and we had to ask for silverware more than once. Cheese inside enchiladas not melted. Burnt rice crumbles scraped from the bottom of the pan. They tried to cover the taste with a nasty verde sauce. Gelatinized flan was from a plastic tub at Wal-Mart. One star is generous. Unfortunately, this is the only non-fast food Mexican in Butte. It's worth the drive to go elsewhere. read more

I had dinner this evening at Christina's and was not impressed. Based on their pricing, the entire experience should have been excellent but it was far from it. The chips were not good, in fact, they tasted like they were a day or two old. The salsa tasted like it was out of a can. There was no cilantro in it which is pretty standard and basic for a decent salsa recipe. There were 3 cases of jewelry and purses for sale which I thought was sort of odd for a Mexican restaurant to be selling in a food establishment. Lastly, I paid 17.29 for (2) Enchiladas dinner plate. This price was excessive for food that was bland and basic and to be frankly honest, tasted like it was manufactured and processed. All in all, there really wasn't anything "Mexican" about this place except the decorations. My advise to the proprietors would be to overhaul your menu and check the flavors and/or spices you use. I would also suggest re-evaluating the pricing by a lot! If you are going to be charging someone 17.29 for 2 enchiladas, your reputation should be that you are the "best around". The wait staff and service was good at this restaurant but that is the only good thing I can say about it! Unfortunately, I didn't go there for service alone! Food quality and pricing are also factors. I don't think I will ever be back simply based on their over inflated sense of value (Menu prices). Their sodas were 2.50 a glass! Soda is all profit! If they charged 1.50 or even 1.99 a glass, it is still hugely profitable. read more
