Disappointing. Ordered muscles and half were closed. Ordered the tenderloin steak med rare & halibut. Both were rubbery & chewy. Service was awful. After getting initial drinks and food no one came back to check on our table. Had to flag down a busboy to get another glass of wine that came 15min later. Waiter never came back to even give us the check. We probably could have left and no one would of notice. I had to go to the bartender to ask for it. The assistant server was pleasant & funny. The wait staff is very attentive. We had the tenderloin, burger, and steak salad, which were all delicious. The Chicken Parmesan flatbread appetizer was disappointing- the flatbread was soggy, and there was way too much cheese on. Still, I recommend Barclay II as the best restaurant in Anconda. read more

I'm not even sure where to begin with our experience at Barclay 2 last night. Instead of walking away angry and disappointed (which in a sense we were) we couldn't stop laughing. It was one mishap after another. Mishap 1. Upon entering the restaurant on a busy Saturday night, there was no one at the host stand to greet our party of three. We stood there for about 5 minutes before a waiter mumbled something incoherent at us to follow him to a table. Mishap 2. About 10 minutes later our waitress appeared and took our drink orders: 2 glasses of prosecco and 1 beer, plus one glass for water as there was only 2 for our table of 3. Our drinks arrived: 1 glass of prosseco, 1 beer, 1 Moscow mule, and 0 water glasses. Mishap 3. When the waitress returned to place our dinner order, we requested that we wanted to order appetizers first. She hurriedly explained that she was trying to get all orders in before the "big group" ordered, otherwise it was going to be an hour. We told her we were okay to wait and wanted to enjoy our evening. She took our appetizer order and then instructed us to "wave her down" when we were ready to order. Mishap 4. When we had successfully managed to "wave down" our waitress, we placed our dinner order, as well as a glass of red wine and another beer for the table. The red wine appeared shortly after but the beer was MIA. Our dinner salads materialized and we asked that waitress to check on the beer. Needless to say, that second beer never showed. Mishap 5 Our food arrived within a reasonable amount of time and it was solid. (Albeit there was no salt/pepper on the table and we received mayo with our potatoes instead of butter.) Unfortunately, no server ever came back to our table to check if we needed anything else (a water glass and a beer perhaps???). The staff did eventually realize that we didn't have a water pitcher for the table so a small victory was achieved! Mishap 6. At this point in the meal, we knew that digestives and desserts were not in the cards for us. We requested our check, paid on the phone and left. Upon leaving, the hostess at the front didn't even lift her head to acknowledge our leaving for the night. Overall, we traveled 140 miles round trip for a "fine dining" experience and it missed the mark in nearly every way. The staff was frazzled, unattentive, and bickered with each other within earshot of guests. They let money walk out the door tonight and made no attempt at service recovery. We will not be returning or recommending Barclay 2 to others. read more

We arrived early without a reservation, and they directed us to an open table. We had multiple servers and they were all incredible and efficient. The salad was fresh, the blue cheese dressing was delish, and then the brought out a shrimp cocktail, and some pasta as part of the meal. Bring your appetite. It's busy and limited seating because of homecoming. Much of the bus staff are at their homecoming that is. It looks like this is the place to be here in Butte. We order the scallops and the fish platter and sautéed mushrooms. The side salad is iceberg, a beet and one pepperocini. They gave us a small starter of baby shrimp cocktail and diced celery. My husband ate the shrimp, since I don't go for shrimp at all. The sautéed mushrooms are good, anything in garlic is always better. The halibut on my platter is rather dry. The scallops are in a garlic oil. The scallops are good, not overcooked at all. I used the garlic butter to douse over the halibut to get it down, it's that dru The ravioli is okay, the spaghetti sauce is flavorful. Steamed broccoli and cauliflower was okay. So sad about what has become of our favorite restaurant. Barclay II was known not only for the amazing quality of the food but the gracious welcoming atmosphere. All that is gone now. Rude hostess, untrained server- definitely not the same Barclays we have loved for decades. We were seated for 30 minutes before anyone ever stopped by our table even for a drink order. Spaghetti and ravs are embarrassingly bad. No antipasto tray anymore. So much of the food seems like it's frozen straight out of a bag. The halibut we were served was inedible- completely raw- however, there was no one to tell about it since our waiter never returned to our table once after leaving the food. I hate to leave a negative yelp review ever, however, when my husband politely tried to tell the cashier/hostess about the uncooked food, he was just met with a snarky "sorry" I hope someday Barclay II can return to the fabulous restaurant it once was, instead of becoming a just another mediocre hotel restaurant. read more

Serious revision of ethics and etiquette needed . Bartender was eating and wiping her mouth with her hand before going in the back to bring my food. - among other things not considered proper in an eating environment- constantly touching face and discussing personal matters in long drawn out fashion in-front of customers . I spent $50 and diddnt finish the food or drink from these discomforts. On the positive side. Nice aesthetics. Staff was helpful and kind overall. Quite possibly my favorite steakhouse ever, or at least in Montana. Things to know about me, I am over 55 years old, I am very portly and have eaten at my share of steakhouses. From New York City (you can just say New York), Minneapolis, to San Francisco. We started off with a salad. I ordered the blue cheese dressing, top five blue cheese dressings. Then the waiter brought a shrimp cocktail, a nice surprise. The cocktail sauce was on point. We then got spaghetti with raviolis that was included with our dinner, because, why not. Again, really good. I ordered the filet with crab and my wife the filet with shrimp. The filet was excellent, but the crab was out of this world. It is 10:34 PM and I haven't shut up about the crab. I just finished a meal at Barclays and it was better than the last visit. I had the tenderloin and lobster style shrimp. Both were cooked to perfection. The steak melted in your mouth and was seasoned to wet well. As usual, the ravioli and spaghetti side was also most excellent. I have only one complaint.....I needed a wheelchair to get to my car. Dinner meals come with shrimp cocktail, salad, ravioli & spaghetti served family style, and then a small dinner portion of your main meal. The salad is iceberg lettuce, a beet slice and a pepper; it's not great and they don't offer ranch dressing. I've never been to a restaurant that doesn't have ranch dressing..... The ravioli and spaghetti is very bland, and the shrimp cocktail was mainly cocktail sauce. I'd much rather just have a salad (with option for ranch dressing) and my meal. I had Lobster-style prawns with a baked potato that only came with butter. Very plain and bland. The service is slow, but it was s busy night and were very friendly. The guys at work recommended this place, so I had to check it out. I ordered sautéed mushrooms for an appetizer. The mushrooms were really really good. For my entrée I ordered the 15oz. Beef tenderloin with a loaded baked potato, salad, and ravioli. I asked if the beef tenderloin came with any Béarnaise sauce, or any sauce for the tenderloin. The waitress said no, just butter on top. Hmmm. What's Beef tenderloin w/o any sauce? When my entrée arrived I noticed there was no grated or shredded cheese on my plate for the baked potato. It came with chives, bacon bits and sour cream. I asked for cheese and the waitress said "Sorry, we don't have any cheese at all." I said really and she said no cheese. Hmmmm. That's odd. I also didn't get my drink refilled. Most nice restaurants, when the wait staff sees your drink is low, they automatically bring you a full beverage. Now all that being said, and in kind of her defense. My waitress was bombarded with a table of about 20 people. Seems they may have been short handed. Because everything she did for me took a while. Other than that, the place looked kind of nice. You'll get a 5 star if you get Béarnaise Sauce for the beef tenderloin and cheese for the baked potato and staff to be a little more attentive. read more

What a delightful restaurant and bar in Anaconda. From being greeted at the front door, to choosing our seating, ordering drinks and then dinner, everyone was polite, efficient and very friendly. We had enough time to enjoy our before dinner cocktail to relax and chat, without it being a long wait for our entrees to arrive. And the food was delicious! Steaks, shrimp, scallops, baked potatoes and salads were all lovely. We did not stay for dessert, but the options looked great. We had a really fun date - highly recommend. read more

The only thing to order at this restaurant is the king or queen size tenderloin, cooked rare or medium rare. You won't find a better steak anywhere if they cook it right. I've been told the halibut is good but that's from my wife's sister, who is in her nineties. I've never ordered the king crab legs which may be seasonal, but got an excellent review. The ambience is nice but noisy the service is excellent and the rest of the menu including the sides that come with the meal are meh. I have eaten at Barclay's II many times over the years. Business and personal functions. The old Barclays was great and was a genuine Montana supper club dining experience and was always amazing. For some unknown reason they decided to move to a new building thus loosing the old Montana atmosphere. We tried it right after they moved during Covid. The food and service were marginal at best. Due to Covid causing a lack of employees everywhere we gave it the benefit of the doubt thinking it was just Covid and the new venue. We decided to give it another try after maybe 3 years. The service has improved and it's nice inside, but the food is still nothing compared to what it used to be. They have taken away the antipasto, relish tray, and ice cream. We all ordered steaks. They were very bland and had a weird orangish color from whatever they cooked it in about the color of popcorn oil. We all asked for med rare and they were definitely way too rare. High prices. Worst steak I've had in pretty much forever. None of us even finished our dinner. Like much of everything else in Montana now, the Montana atmosphere and quality is gone. Highly doubt I will ever go there again. read more

While I miss the old location this is a very nice improvement. The noise level is a bit louder than before but the food is still top notch. I see the same familiar servers who always have a smile on their face. I can't say enough good things. The new location is just that, NEW. it gives off a more modern steakhouse appearance. Beautiful restaurant and hotel built upon a mining reclamation site in Anaconda, Montana. We went to the bar section to meet up with an old friend. The service was great. They had some local beers on tap and offered cocktails as well. Excellent list of appetizers-would advise you try the steak fries (I forget what they were called.) The spaghetti and ravioli appetizer had a red sauce heavy with garlic and a strange unpleasant flavor -not advised. Doesn't open until 5:00 and got very noisy once a group of men (golfers) came in. There is outside seating available although not pleasant in 90 degree heat and heavy smoke in air. Outside is a view of the Anaconda stack if you're interested in mining history. read more

We have come to Anaconda every summer for the last 5 years, COVID lockdown excluded. We first loved Barclay II. Last night I took my family of 10. Spent $700. Took us 30 minutes to get our drinks. Salads were served before our drinks. Server made some excuse why drinks weren't served yet, although two in our party who were late had their drinks served before the rest of us. Then we got our meals. I ordered my tenderloin medium rare. It came well done. Not even a hint of pink.. My daughter ordered hers medium well and her steak was completely raw. Not even close to medium rare. Steaks weren't even flavorful. 6pm and completely out of baked potatoes as well. And then to top it off, we had 10 people in our party and the server said they don't split checks for more than 9. The menu says for more than 10. We'll never go spent $700 here again. Worst service ever. I would rather go to Hofbrau house and spend half that for a steak with amazing service. read more
