Even though I don't eat the sandwiches, no meat for me, I really love their shakes and boniato…read morefries. Today we ordered a Miami, a Medianoche, a couple of shakes and the boniato fries. My shake, Timba, was delicious as always. Guava and cream cheese, in a shake topped with a Maria cookie. How can you go wrong? I heard the sandwiches were really good as was the mamey shake. The service is excellent. This location has a large dining area inside and lots of tables outside too. They play great music too.

We took an uber across town to Sanguich in Coral Gables for dinner and it was well worth the trip. For a sandwich, we had the Media Noche which is your classic cuban on a sweeter bread. We split the sandwich, but also ordered boniato fries, and two orders of ham croquettes. Plus I ordered a cafe con leche... which was excellent and came in the cutest cup/saucer combo that was intentionally off center. My friend liked it so much that she wanted to get one after the cruise to take home... which we did. The sandwich was excellent and the fries were so good with the dipping sauces. I love the croquettes and got some more when I was back in town for my morning coffee. Plus the place is gorgeous inside. If I had a place like this near me I would eat Cuban's and delicious croquettes every week.

Huge thanks to Diandra for the suggestion to head to El Bagel for brunch on a recent Saturday…read moremorning... Our group of five met up and hit it just right as the line wasn't too long. We ordered a variety of bagel sandwiches and also some latkes and coffee and everything was delicious! Our food came out quickly and we found seating outside around the corner. I sent some family members the next morning and they enjoyed it too. If you find yourself in the Coconut Grove area, do not miss a visit to El Bagel!

I really liked this bagel shop. It is a small place, and they don't have a huge menu. But what they…read moredo have seems to have that local Miami resident flare to it. What they make is interesting and delicious. Plus one or two classic bagels mixed in too. I tried the King Guava, and it was super yummy. The guava flavor really came through, and the cream cheese paired really well with it. I will say the egg was kind of hard to detect, but the potato crisps had the best crunch. The bagel itself also had a really good chew to it. I can't attest to how it would stack up to a New York style bagel, but I really enjoyed it nonetheless. The price point for this place is a pretty decent. And the bagel itself is a pretty filling breakfast. I will definitely be coming back here to get my bagel fix. Also important to note, I have at times seen a long line here, but when I came in right when they opened on Monday morning, there weren't that many people there and it only took 10 min to order and get our order. But I can see how this would change if it was really busy

Genuinely one of the best dining experiences, thanks to our server Kat! My boyfriend made a Tuesday…read more5:30pm reservation and we stayed for about an hour. I couldn't believe the restaurant was empty except for us the entire time - they deserve more hype! You enter through the first floor and walk upstairs to the beautifully decorated dining area. What we ordered: *Oyster mushrooms (9.2/10) - although a pinch saltier than I would have liked, the potato miso cream was to dieeee for. Mushrooms were flavorful and cooked perfectly. *Smoked coconut rice (8/10) - my bf liked this a lot more than I did but I still thought it was tasty! The saffron custard was unique and paired well with the grilled colossal crab. Little bits of trout roe were the perfect visual & textural touch. However, we both agreed that something was slightly "off" about the rice; almost reminding us of instant microwaveable rice for some reason, but we couldn't put a finger to exactly why. *Ravioli (10/10) - who knew hazelnuts, caramelized onion, and piave cheese go so well together? No complaints about this dish. It was plated nicely and a delight to eat. Kat walked us through their natural & biodynamic wine selection, as well as every dish as it came out. What stood out about her was how professional, kind, helpful, and conversational she was! Kat also let us try the sparkling Bisson wine, which was perfectly light and refreshing (hints of green apple). The meal ended with two warm herbal-infused towels for us to wipe our hands with. 18% gratuity is automatically added to the bill, and we tipped extra because of how lovely the service was. I would love to come back and try their brunch menu (the pear french toast looks divine)!!

Krus Kitchen is a local gem. The presentation, the flavors, the utmost care they take of each plate…read moreis phenomenal. The restaurant is small and yes, it's definitely on a higher price range but this place is for experience. It doesn't cater to a specific cuisine and takes inspiration from everything. It's on a really busy street in Coconut Grove with a high competition from so many restaurants around and this place stands out. I went on a Sunday early dinner. Only a couple of tables were occupied. It's on the floor above Los Felix and you actually have to go through that Mexican restaurant to take stairs to Krus. But as soon as you step in, the vibe changes completely. Floor to ceiling wine racks, cozy lights and an open kitchen make this place trendy rather than a quiet classic restaurant. I felt the volume could be reduced a bit to make it even more comfortable to have a date night conversation. I had read about the smoked coconut rice but when it came out it was nothing like I ever experienced. It's a very delicate sweetness added to basmati rice and a slight juicy crunch from the trout that brought the flavor out of the crab meat. The saffron custard added a creamy layer to smooth it out. Ravioli was filled with Italian cheese and tossed with a tonne of hazel nuts. There was a slight drizzle of chimichuri as well but the flavor that was strongly coming from was the thyme oil. For dessert I initially was going for Parsnip sundae but after the amount of hazelnut I ate for entree, I wanted to try a different flavor. My waiter, Kat suggested the burrata ice cream and it had black garlic I never tried before. It had an umami flavor and that was a unique taste for me. The butter cookie was salty and it reminded me a bit of peanut butter cookie. But without the crunch. Surprisingly the milk merengue was crunchy. The host, my server(Kat) and the rest of the staff did an amazing job explaining each dish and allowed me to really get to know the dish not only before ordering but also during and after. They really cared about the experience they were giving. The plates are small but definitely not tapas style. They don't have validated parking but there is metered parking and there are garages in the area.
