They were tasty and place is somewhat clean but could use more but not dirty. Decor needs overhauling as colors are dark and wall decorations are fishes and a palm tree. Prices are a little high for type of restaurant but if you go off daily menu it's reasonable

It wasn't going to be a long wait but we always prefer laid back bar seating for lunch. They've expanded over the years to keep up with the crowds, and the fresh seafood display by the door lets you know exactly what they're so special for. Let's start with the fish croquetas because they're in a league of their own. Hands down the best in Miami. We also ordered cod fritters, and every bite tasted incredibly fresh. Before the entree, they bring out a small cup of soup, either fish or lobster bisque, just enough to warm you up before the main event. I went with Creole shrimp, and opted for salad and fried sweet plantains, while hubby ordered fried fish chunks with white rice and black beans. And let's be clear... you can't leave a Cuban restaurant without ordering black beans. There's something about theirs that tastes like they've been simmering in someone's vieja (that's grandmother) kitchen all day. Pure comfort feels. One thing I really appreciate is the portion sizes. They're generous without being over the top, so you leave satisfied instead of needing a nap in the parking lot. And of course, there's only one proper way to end meals like this: flan and a Cuban espresso. If you're visiting Miami, this is one of those places you simply have to experience.

For dessert we shared a Crema Catalana (Spanish custard) which was a bit small to be honest. Everything else was pretty 'solid' though - fresh, cooked well, no issues. Portions (except for the dessert) and prices were decent. Service was nothing special. We found ourselves looking for the server several times when we needed something. The restaurant has been remodeled and they did a nice job modernizing. You can't really go wrong eating at El Floridita. We'll be back.

Your service continues to deteriorate despite staff clearly working very hard and trying. There is clear lack of coordination and teamwork and what I appears to be short staffing. If this was a one off I wouldn't write a review but this is the third and last time I observe this. The service has continued to deteriorate to the point where we will not be returning. It is not the kitchens fault at all the food is good and consistent. The bar has become mediocre and the drinks leave alot to be desired. The wines by the glass while completely overpriced used to be forgivable due to great services. Since the service has deteriorated all those small details you could let go matter more now. Overall if you want a great steak (or meal in general) with great drinks do your self a favor go to Mortons its a out 10 minutes away and you will thank me for it as their food is better with better service. I had asked to speak with a manager tonight to share the feedback with them directly but since they could not be bothered to come speak with me I will share the feedback publicly for everyone to see. We been visiting this location for more than 8 years…read more Although we like the Hialeah location as well. We live in Broward but often we visit Miami the Miami location is a lot more convenient. Most of the time our experience is perfect at the Miami location on some occasions they fail to serve a great meal. Last night was another sad occasion the food was less than up to par. To top it off when we complained the manager deducted from the bill the small (tiny) lobster but not the main course which was terrible uneatable! We had ordered the arroz con marisco (seafood rice meal) for two in addition the lobster tail as extra. Upon receiving our main course the meal had tones of calamari, to much broth little a lobster taint into and over boiled octopus hard as a rock and chunks that you could choke on. The worse dish we have had in a long time. The manager should had discounted the main meal but instead the tiny lobster tail that not only was over cooked you could not barely eat. Mind you we had this exact meal last weekend and it was superb but this Saturday yesterday was the one of the worst ever! Our waiters has attended to us before and felt bad no fault of hers but the kitchen and the manager should have done better. We both lost our appetite completely! We are going take a bit before we can return. Note to owners: this matter should have been resolved better.
