Now we need another one done, and Jimmy, one of their techs, came out to do a fall system check and noted that our second HVAC system was getting towards the end of life and that maybe we should schedule an evaluation to assess the system further and get estimates for a new system upstairs, as the downstairs unit was replaced about 2 years ago. We called and scheduled Jimmy to come back; he did, assessed the system, and gave us some estimates and options based on the information he gathered when he initially came out. We are contemplating having them replace the system despite the cost, as Jimmy explained that the price will only go up and never go down. I'm impressed with this company and even more so knowing that it is family-owned, which is my preferred type of company. Highly recommend contacting Beltway if you have a heating or AC issue!

Now the previous evening, my husband contacted a large local competitor to check our HVAC system. Technician from local competitor came out and looked out HVAC system, didn't test any components and stated "our compressor was locked & leaking refrigerant and quoted my husband $6k to replace it or we can purchase a brand new HVAC system for $25k!!!" (NOT TRUE!!!). The tech even left our outside power switch unplugged so we couldn't test the system!! SMH!!! We won't contact them for any service ever again nor recommend them to any neighbors, friends and family!!! Joe K, Service Technician at HVAC Direct Heating & Cooling contacted my husband within 20 minutes of him contacting the office the next business day and scheduled a visit that evening. He came out to the house, checked the compressor and quickly diagnosed the capacitor as the problem & replaced it. And Joe K. even showed my husband how he diagnosed the capacitor as the issue NOT the compressor leaking refrigerant as stated by local competitor!! No refrigerant leaking at all!! Compressor in good condition!! In addition, Joe K., checked the wiring, fan, all associated parts and cleaned our a/c unit. No issues at all!! Just some cleaning needed!!! HVAC in excellent working condition AGAIN!!! In addition, he checked our furnace, cleaned some our internal components and showed my husband some DIY things to do to maintain our HVAC system throughout the year!! Amazing work & Professionalism by Joe K!!!! I returned home from business travel to a COOL & COMFORTABLE HOUSE!!! ALL Work completed in an HOUR!!! (less time than the large local competitor spending 2 1/2 hours trying to sell my husband a new HVAC system)!! Joe K. was amazing, excellent communicator, knowledgeable and very professional!! Highly recommend HVAC Direct Heating and Cooling!! Great Pricing for Service Plans & Parts, Excellent Technicians!! He came out and…read moreoverrode the delay switch on the actual HVAC unit system that's outside because he said we didn't need it because we also have the same delay switch thing on the thermostat inside He didn't check the air handler or anything else and said it was that . He hooked hoses and said our Freon was fine and that everything else was working properly. So paid him cash and almost 6 hours later the house stayed at a hot 80 degrees in the hall and actually got to 86 degrees in the kitchen as we have a magnetic thermostat which sits on the side of the refrigerator . So my husband texted him to tell him and he actually said to give our unit some more time to cool down the house !! Now I'm not an HVAC technician but I'm also not a moron. I know it does not take six hours to put a temperature of 77° in the house from 80 which in almost 6 hours that's what happened. He refused to come back out and it was 5 o clock. Wants to wait to see if it'll cool off overnight Meanwhile I'm on dialysis and have been very sick for some time and the thought of another night of 80-82 degrees is very difficult to deal with considering I do my treatments at home now in a hot sweltering room! So meanwhile the original company that's on vacation and personally got ahold of No Frost Air to help us wasn't much help either in trying to help and what the most horrible part is we ended up getting ahold of our neighbor who's friends father owns a HVAC company and they came right out !!!! So mind you another service Call $$$ in less than 6 hours.... The problem was the actual COMPRESSOR IS BAD AND WAS BAD ALL ALONG BUT NO FROST AIR TOOK ADVANTAGE BY TRYING TO ALTER OUR SYSTEM and say it needed more time to cool down which is still mind blowing to me ... The incompetence and the dishonesty of this company's owner is appalling to me that he could even do something like this and then tell my husband to wait until our prior hvac company owner comes back from vacation to address the problem with our HVAC not working and cooling our house .. Worst experience ever !!!! Who does that !! He should be ashamed of himself to do this to us . I'd give ZERO STARS if I could! This is a honest review!

The HVAC installation itself was done well, and I was satisfied with the work performed by the…read moreinstallation technician. My concern is with how the required county inspection was handled by the owner. I was charged an additional $500 for the inspection, even though the county's actual permit and inspection fees are less than half that amount. The explanation was that the additional charge covered scheduling the inspection and having someone present, which I was willing to accept. However, the person they sent arrived late, was not the installer, and did not appear familiar with the installation. When the inspector asked questions, he was unable to provide useful answers. Considering the amount charged, I expected someone knowledgeable about the job to attend and properly represent the company. I raised these concerns directly with the owner, but instead of acknowledging the poor handling of the inspection or taking responsibility for the situation, he avoided addressing the issue. Because the inspection charge and arrangements came directly from the owner, the experience left me feeling that the additional cost was not handled transparently or professionally. These are the types of business practices that prevent me from becoming a repeat customer, despite the installation itself being completed well. I recommend that anyone hiring this company confirm in writing whether permits and inspections are included in the original quote, the exact amount of any additional charges, and who will attend the inspection.

Other hvac technicians will tell you to just replace the system without checking anything. Quality of service: Well, this technician gave me options to get me going. When I made the decision to replace the fully hvac (not from any pressure from the technician), he was able to fix it so that I had heat until they came back to replace it. They saved me time and money, which is value to me! Value delivered: Other hvac companies are rude and have sneaky sales tactics. Not Rocky hvac. The crew that came to install it were all professional and polite. After 5 decades of using other hvac companies, I finally found a keeper.
