Lamb Kebab (Köfte) (Pan)
Cole D.

Visually stunning but lacking unique flavor. The pita bread and hummus are 5s! The rice and lamb are plain and fine. The rice even felt old to me. Or it felt dry.

What an awesome place! Love the food. Kennedy was a great server. I got the brisket platter. So so good

I was underwhelmed by this place. I guess I missed the hype boat. I ordered the falafel sweet potato pan and the portion of rice was huge, but ratio-wise the amount of arugula salad was slim. And now I know why other places drizzle the sauce all over, because here the tzatziki sauce was just scooped in one area of my rice so you have mix it in yourself. I made the mistake of not mixing it and then ran out half way through. And by then a huge line had formed to order so not only did I have to wait to get the staff's attention but when I asked for more sauce they wanted to charge me $2.50! Now, I wouldn't have mind paying that price, but I think for the way the sauce was arranged, it's a little unreasonable. Also, the sweet potato falafel was very underwhelming. I thought like a good falafel, it'd be a little crispy on the outside and very soft and fluffy on the inside but the outside was pretty hard. I will not say hard as a rock, but definitely was nervous about cutting it open and using a plastic utensils with it, thinking they may break. I don't know if it was just a bad batch of sweet potato falafel but I personally would not recommend this option. It was a whole lot of rice and very little salad. I think with a little TLC the meal could be a lot better. Though ambience is nice though. It has a nice little city view. There could be a little more seating. It was busy on a Sunday afternoon. I probably would not come back here, a little disappointed. I did however enjoy the music and Shazamed a few tracks.

Falafel pita

Excellent falafel pita. So good that I came back for it again the next day. Got the side of eggplant and hummus - both were solid, but not needed. The falafel pita was filling and delicious on its own, though the schug hot sauce is a must. Ample space to enjoy the food there or take out. Friendly and fast service. Will definitely be back next time I'm in NY.

This is a fast casual place worh Israeli food. We got sabich sandwich, falafel, lamb kebab (2 appetizers) beef shawarma bowl. Everything was gone just wish they have more beef in the shawarma bowl ;-)

Food was pretty good. The shakshuka is served all day and was flavorful and hot. Good casual spot that's not crowded at all which is nice.

Sweet Potato Falafel Hummus Bowl (Vegan)

SERVICE - located near union square park - small interior with seatings at benches for groups or counter for solo diners - takeout popular - order at counter then find a table - can get crowded during popular times - ambiance good for casual meal MENU - customizable hummus bowls and plates - vegan/vegetarian options available - average price ($16 per entree) FOOD - sweet potato falafel hummus bowl (7/10): six pieces of falafel on top of creamy hummus with a side of pita bread. Just looking at the hummus, it is creamy and light without being gritty. I liked the addition of the chickpeas and tahini on top. The falafel were okay but did not have a strong sweet potato taste. The portion is generous and can be shared between 1-2 people. WOULD I GO BACK? Yes! It makes an easy takeout dinner that is relatively healthy and customizable.

Lamb Kebab (Kfte) Pan

Dropped by here for a quick bite for lunch during work. It's a bit busy but the line moves. Odds are a few of them are waiting for their togo order. I got the lamb kebab plate which comes with hummus and a salad. Nothing much to say except it's pretty solid. No complaints, nothing crazy, and the kebab is tender and flavorful. The salad is a nice cool and light complement. Also, it's quite a bit of food - I ate it across two meals. Quick and easy service. They make it fresh. Grab your lunch here

A fast casual place, delicious Mediterranean food!! There was no wait because it's more of a fast casual place, no need to wait for seats. Meat was tender and sauces were good! Got the lamb skewer plate and portion size was perfect.

SABICH -The Eggplant Pita
Sharmila S.

In the mood for an early lunch, I stopped at Taboonette and tried the Sabich. In a pita. It was delicious, front loaded with all the salady bits, eventually giving way to soft velvety never ending layers of fried eggplant. Yum! The only problem with the pita is that you tend to eat things sequentially rather than altogether so next time I'm going to opt for the bowl version. It's a nice bright space and the counter service was pleasant. Can't wait to go back and try the cauliflower.

Falafel Pan
Mosa H.

Solid mediterranean lunch spot. Quick service and the pan dishes are actually served in small frying pans! The falafel was pretty good but a little dry and crumbly. The cucumber salad could have used some dressing, too. The tahini was great and tied it all together.

The food is incredible and the service is top-notch in a setting that immerses you in Albanian history and hospitality. The menu is extensive and I found it helpful to ask the friendly servers their recommendations and suggestions. I really enjoyed the sesame baked cheese, mantia and sausage dip as appetizers and saved plenty of room for their mixed grill platter, which is generous and filling; ordering a salad along with their bread will complete any meal and you will leave more than satisfied by the taste and authenticity of all the dishes. It feels like you stepped into a rustic little house that a family lives in. We really appreciated that they were playing Albanian music. The food is so filling and heavy so pace yourself. My husband and I shared the pepper dip and the baked cheese appetizers, which come with freshly baked bread. Seriously delicious. For entrees, I got the tava kosi, which is an egg dish with two pieces of lamb. Honestly I didn't love it. It's a LOT of egg. The lamb pieces were delicious, but I was already so full that I could only have one piece. I wish it had a bit less egg and a bit more other things, but I know this is their national dish. My husband got the qofte shari. It was perfect. Cooked so well, the meat was spiced uniquely, even the fries were great. I think I just ordered the wrong thing! I would seriously love to return and try another clay dish. We finished off the meal with Albanian coffee, which was like Turkish coffee, but smoother and better. All in all, left so happy and full. Service was so attentive, too. Go here for a unique meal in the cutest little restaurant.

The staff was extremely warm, kind and welcoming and a special shoutout to Irem who was amazing, gave us some great recommendations and took care of us throughout. I went for the $39 prix fixe brunch which is honestly such a great deal and comes with quite a spread. I had the muhammara, hummus, shakshuka and dessert and thoroughly enjoyed my coffee too. We also ordered the tuna Niçoise salad, which is by far the best I have had ever. One of my friends was accidentally served the wrong order and they immediately replaced it with the right one and made her meal completely complimentary, which was such a nice gesture and something we really appreciated. We also loved that nobody was rushing us and we could just sit, chat and enjoy our brunch. Great food, beautiful ambiance, wonderful hospitality and even the restrooms were spotless and very well maintained. Overall such a positive experience and easily a 5/5 for me.

There were 7 of us The seating was cozy but not cramped. We started with 7 family style small dishes: Hummus with Falafel Pops (chickpea purée, tahini, falafel, olive oil), Spring Burrata (roasted cherry tomatoes, toast, basil oil), Hamachi Crudo (passionfruit vinaigrette, citrus zest, cucumber, mint, sesame tuile), Scallops (carrot puree, serrano pepper, brown butter sauce), Tenderloin Skewer (zaatar chimichurri, fresh herb salad), and Shiitake Stuffed Grape Leaves (tomato coulis, yogurt foam, herbs). Everything was delicious. The hummus was well seasoned the falafel had a nice crunch. It went well with the warm puffy gyro bread that came to the table. The burrata was wasm and creamy. I love the vinaigrette on the fish. I ended up eating most of it. The scallops were the sweetest, most tender ones I have ever had. The tenderloin skewers were tender and well seasoned. I liked the grape leaves but the rice consistency was very soft almost mushy and you can barely tell there were mushrooms. There was barely any mushrooms flavor. Next we all chose an entree. I got the duck breast, my husband and daughter each had the beef tenderloin. The duck breast was smaller than i expected. The skin was nicely seared and very crispy but boy did it give my jaw a workout. It was done medium rare. It was juicy but tough. The small beef tenderloin was tender and smoky. The waiter poured the sauce over the tenderloin for added flavor. Finally dessert was a fruit plate with ice cream and pudding. The fruit was fresh and the flavors of the ice cream and pudding unique. It was a nice end to a good brunch. The price was a little expensive at $85 a person.

I was a little worried given the current 3.5 star Yelp rating but am very glad I ended up trying it! We asked the waiter what the most popular dish was, and what dish people don't order as often as they should. He recommended the Lavraki (Branzino) and Ribeye steak respectively. Both were excellent, as was the Horiatiki salad we started with; the tomatoes were good, which is always a good sign that one doesn't have to be careful about what to order. The agiorgitiko red wine was lovely as well. I look forward to trying more of the menu next time.

The drinks were very, very strong. Included in the meal was 4 cocktails and 2 entries with an appetizer and dessert. The cocktails were definitely strong and worth it. I had the boneless ribeye which was full of flavor. My wife had the lamb chops which she said was pretty good. Something to keep in mind, despite using the deal that required purchasing on Pulsd, there is an 'open food' fee. Not sure if this is the fee restaurants are doing to recoup losses due to COVID as the 10 percent "COVID-19 Recovery Charge" as its the first time I've noticed it. Automatic gratuity is added to the bill as well. I'd definitely give this place another shot in the future.
