This was my first visit here and I will definitely be returning! I'm not sure if I've ever had Persian food before, but it's delicious. What we ordered: -Taboon Bread w/French Feta Cheese -Chicken Kabob -Beef Koubideh The Taboon Bread with feta wasn't what I was expecting. It's a naan-style bread served alongside blocks of feta. It's a lot of feta, like a whole store-bought containers worth. I wasn't a fan of the feta style, but the bread was awesome. It came out fresh and hot! The Beef Koubideh was my favorite of the two kabobs. It was so flavorful and cooked perfectly. It's not necessarily an inexpensive option but it's fair for the amount of food you get. The inside isn't anything special, but I typically prefer to eat inside over takeout.

Finally a Persian restaurant in Hoover!... or so I thought. The menu is definitely a fusion of a few cultures, some Persian skewers with traditional rice and tomatoes, and then a few other dishes that seemed to have a Lebanese flair. Very modest restaurant that clearly caters to more takeout than dine in. Most Persian restaurants are fairly fancy so this came to a bit of surprise once we walked inside. The service was terrible. Not only rude, but we had such a difficult time communicating. English was not understood well and no one seemed to speak Farsi either. . The lady behind the counter was rude, abrupt and refused to listen and continuously talked over us when asking questions. She even rolled her eyes when we asked if they had certain items. Honestly, I'm surprised our order was right. The tables were wobbly and needed to be cleaned. The food itself was pretty good though the kebabs were a bit dry and when we asked for butter for our rice (all Persians want butter on their rice) we were told they didn't have any but could use olive oil. We declined.. I can't say I will never go here again, but next time will definitely be for takeout. It's a very uninviting establishment. .

On a drive down to the beach for a short getaway, husband and I were looking for a spot to stop for dinner. I keep a running bookmark list of Birmingham restaurants and this one hit the all the requirements! We pulled off the highway into a small shopping center and found our way inside. The menu is moderately sized with lots of middle eastern favorites. I fancy myself somewhat familiar with the cuisine but I'm certainly happy to learn and try more; there were a few dishes available I wasn't familiar with and I enjoyed doing a light Google to educate myself. You order at the counter here. They seem to do a very brisk takeout business. There's seating inside and a few tables on the patio. We originally intended to eat inside but wound up moving because unfortunately something smelled really bad and wrong, almost like natural gas, inside the restaurant. I don't necessarily think this was their fault -- we noticed some workers doing something on the roof of the building, and all the food smelled as wonderful as you'd expect -- but we moved outside just to be safe. I wanted a chicken koobideh kabob instead of a regular chicken kabob (the difference seems to be koobideh is ground chicken and spices rather than a hunk of chicken), but through a somewhat confusing conversation with the employee, managed to figure out they didn't have any. So I wound up with a regular chicken kabob; husband got beef koobideh kabob; and we split an order of hummus. I say the conversation was confusing because neither employee spoke much English at all, such to the point that I had to use my even more-limited Spanish skills to realize they were saying "no tengo" to the chicken koobideh. They were very kind and apologetic and we eventually figured out how to move forward and help each other, but if you're looking for a detailed description of the food or anything, make sure you speak Spanish here, lol. I heard them very desperately trying to communicate what was spicy and what wasn't to a very confused group of folks as I left. That being said, they got our order right and it came out in a very reasonably time, especially considering the sheer volume of carryout they were cranking out. Our kebabs came with extra complementary taboon bread, which went great with our leftover hummus. The food is honestly worth 5 stars. It was delicious. The rice was fluffy and delicate, each kabob was bursting with flavor, the hummus was smooth and delicious, and the Shirazi salad (diced tomato and cucumber) was so refreshing! My chicken was incredible -- cooked absolutely perfectly, still juicy but with crispy parts, too. Despite a few roadblocks in atmosphere and communication, we very much enjoyed our visit here and would happily return. Give them a try if you like or are interested in experiencing Persian food.

If you haven't tried Taboon Noon O Kabab make it your next lunch plan! The staff is the nicest, and everything on the menu is high quality. This is up there with the best Persian food I've had around the US. The pies are great but I think I preferred the meat one, it was packed full and bursting with flavor. The Kababs are so good too. They taste like some major preparation went into them. We have been multiple times and happy to have them in the ham!

Before visiting this restaurant, I had never tried Persian food before, so everything was new territory for me. My boyfriend had always wanted to try this place since it's right next to a restaurant he frequents, so we decided to stop by one random Friday afternoon. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. We ordered at the counter, and an employee brought the food out to our table when it was ready. Since we weren't sure what to get, we decided on the Soltani Special so we could try a little bit of everything. It came with Taboon Bread, and we also ordered the Cheese Pie too because it looked yummy in the pictures. And let me tell you, it was just as yummy in real life! At first, I was skeptical about whether the portion size of the Soltani Special would be enough for two people, but once we started eating, I realized I had nothing to worry about. Everything was delicious, and the side of veggies and sauce really elevated the meats. I usually prefer beef, but the chicken ended up being my favorite here. The beef was good too, but I would've loved it even more if it had been a little less tough. Overall, Persian food is so underrated! I really enjoyed my experience and would definitely come back with others.

Southern Living named this restaurant to the Top 30 Restaurants in Birmingham, so we had to try it. Tucked away in a strip mall in Hoover, it's conveniently located right off of I-65. We stopped by at lunch and were the first folks to arrive. The menu is exotic- that is, apart from hummus and kabobs, we really didn't know what anything else was, and while there were some photos, it didn't give us a good idea of what the dishes were like. For our next visit, I'll do a little research first. My two teenage sons and I ordered hummus, chicken, kebabs, and two orders of steak kebabs. The kebabs come as either a sandwich, plate, or entrée. We ordered the entrée combos. We got so much food! The hummus was super creamy and served with whole wheat pita triangles. The kabobs were outstanding! The chicken was a little dry but super flavorful. The steak was delicious. The kabobs were served with a massive amount of white rice and a vegetable kabob, white onions, pickles, and a cucumber salad. All were so delicious and fresh tasting!

Taboon somehow just gets better and better, everything on the menu I've tasted, quickly becomes a new favorite

Taboon Noon O Kabab is a family favorite. The menu items are very common in Persian/Iranian cuisine such as kababs, shirazi salad, bread/naan, etc. I recommend this place to anyone interested in trying new foods. The food is not spicy, it is rather tangy and seasoned adequately. I would recommend the platter where the different meat kababs are mixed. You get vegetables, rice with saffron, shirazi salad, white yogurt, and meat. The platter is pretty big, so if you know your appetite is not that big, sharing this meal with another person is feasible. The workers are patient and they work very hard, it's also located in Hoover.

Amazing food! Delicious! Do not pass this place up. Go on in and say hello. They also have a drive thru, call ahead you can pick it up. Everything was so tasty! Adnan is very friendly. He and his wife (who is the head Chef) care about what they serve. I'm afraid I will be craving this place regularly! Looking forward to my next visit already.

I'm addicted!!! It's hard to find difference places to eat when you work in retail ,This is a gem. This time I had the chicken kebab sandwich and of course the shirazi salad( I could eat this by itself). It was a little expensive for lunch $22. But it is made to order fresh. No photos because I couldn't stop eating. If you are looking to experience Persian food, please give this place a try.

It started before we even stepped inside. Our party of six waited nearly 15 awkward minutes outside at the hostess station before a single employee acknowledged us. Once seated, we were placed in a back room that was at least quieter than the front of the restaurant--which was nearly deafening--so that felt like the only small win of the evening. Unfortunately, everything else went downhill fast. After being seated, it took another 15+ minutes just for the waitress to take our drink orders. Appetizers followed and were mediocre at best, nothing remotely memorable or worth the wait. My Caesar salad was laughable. It advertised house-made chunky croutons--there were three, each no larger than a Hershey's Kiss. The salad itself was watery and bland, as if the lettuce hadn't been dried before the dressing was added. I even had to ask for pepper, which somehow confused the waitress. The main course was the final insult. I ordered the Cacio e Pepe with Conecuh sausage, priced at $31. The "sausage" consisted of three tiny pieces, totaling maybe one ounce combined. For that price? Are you kidding me? By the end of the meal, our table was stunned--not satisfied. Little to no protein, minimal substance, and zero justification for the prices. Our bill for four people came to $285, and everyone left feeling taken advantage of. This wasn't just disappointing--it was egregious. Poor service, underwhelming food, and wildly inflated prices make this a restaurant I will never return to or recommend
